White Label ROMs

Hi - I have both a Universal and a Wizard. For a while now, on my Wizard I've been using a ROM made up of 'best bits' of all the available releases, with all carrier customisations removed - this is released under the name 'Mr. Clean' rom. It's bugless and lightweight. Perfect!
Does anyone release a similar rom for the Universal? Or does anyone prepare one for their own use who might consider sharing? It really would be great to see.
This would be cool
We should do this.
A "Clean" ROM with a CAB set to choose from for each provider.
I would appreciate this greatly - since t-mobile remove some stuff from the blank setup.
Rich
A fast, lean and mean ROM would be awesome. I don't have the time or skills unfortunately.
There is one already. It was made by Jwright. Just don't install the Ext ROM if you really want it to be super clean. Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=55019&sid=7789d445c5b87ea11980c475ab58e2c9
I followed that thread - but the links dont exist.
Could someone upload the T-mobile version of Jwright's ROM to the XDA-Developers FTP site??
If not - email it to me, PM me for my address. I'll host it on my website if someone sends it.
I just tried the thread I posted above and the link works fine. It must be your computer settings.
I am not sure which version is this though. I think he released QTEK, IMATE, and TMOBILE versions. Just use the Ma_Upgrade_No_ID_Tool.
The links to the other topics work OK but the ROM links given in http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=55019&sid=7789d445c5b87ea11980c475ab58e2c9
don't?? There is no such directory on the ftp site????
Exactly - The posts link OK, but the FTP site doesnt contain the ROMS
The link I posted above is the link to the topic with the files you guys are looking for. It should be on the first post of that link, and it works fine on mine.
Yes it does but we're talking about the links to Jwrightmcps modified ROM's... These are missing from the FTP site????
I am now confused. This has been discussed before, someone took off those files from the fttp. Probably someone does not want to share or maybe it took a great chunk of memory storage. That is why "Xanadu" provided us with this alternate download site, but it is the same file, so it does not really matter if we can't find the original posted file by Jwright because someone was gracious enough to share.
I thought the topic was where is Jwright's Modified ROM? I provided a link on where to donload it. Question answered. What is still the confusion? Are you looking for a specific file for a specific device like Jwright promised? If so, he also left instructions on how to use the Ma_Upgrade_No ID file. So just extract the files necessary and rename them, then install.

is it possible to upgrade to 6.5 this way?

I have Verizon wireless touch pro 2, and I found a link at
hxxp://www.app4mobile.com/2009/10/13/htc-touch-pro2-windows-mobile-6-5-upgrade-now-available/
in there it points me to HTC.com and has an upgrade option to 6.5. my question is is it safe since I have a U.S. phone with Verizon?
I went to the site on my pc and it didn't show up that time so, I looked up at the address bar and it was the europe site that had the upgrade, but its not on the US site. I'm just asking before I jump into a situation I can't get out of ya know?
anyhow, thanks for the info and help.
Have a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=517
You´ll have more information so you can flash the proper ROM
Hope it helped,
No, that upgrade isn't for your device, so it won't flash it. You have a Verizon TP2, so you're most likely going to get updates from Verizon. If you stick with Stock ROMs (meaning you will only run official ROMs) you will probably have to wait until early 2010 by the look of it.
However, if you visit the link that orb3000 posted above me, there will be instructions on how to get Windows Mobile 6.5 on your device right now, for free (but your warranty will be voided, and all data on your device will be lost). If you read carefully, don't take shortcuts, and most importantly, flash ROMs for CDMA devices like yours, you should be fine (if you decide to flash a custom ROM).
thanks for the info guys. I'm impressed with the tp2 stock rom right now, but I'm sure I'll flash it sooner or later.

[ROM] 2-18-10 Egzthunder1's 28230 (MetroPCS) - Clean Version

Busy day today
Anyways, I decided to discontinue 25005 since it had a graphical bug, which after spending several hours looking for answers, I couldn't fix...
So, here is the newest build (yes, even newer than 25005)
Build log is pretty much the same as 25005 but with a few exceptions
*Increased pagepool size to 18 MB!
*New Build 25005 (no clue about which COM branch it belongs to, so please don't ask )
*Added Bing
*MSN Widgets are Back
*Removed Opera since there is a newer version out there (with Flash support!). I haven't gotten the cab, so I will let you all install it and let me know
*Internet Sharing Added
*FaceBook Mobile is Back!
*Added QuickGPS (for faster lockons... or so I hear)
*Dialer Lag is gone!!!
*The only extra that I don't like (and I did not put in) was haptic feedback when touching the start menu. If anyone knows how to get rid of this... please.

Removed
*Showcase
*Mega dialer (simply left stock). Probably will try to use the GSM dialer from NFS's thread.
*Added Arcsoft MMS to UC Folder
*Added Netfront Concept 4 (latest one) to UC (replace with your choice of browser if you like something else). I find Opera very hard to use without an accelerometer and a scroll wheel, so I decided not to cook it in.
*Updated GoogleMaps to the latest publicly available
*I added a pretty cool looking theme for 6.5 but it was the cause for my funny looking icons and scrollbars, so use at your own risk.
Without Further ado, here is the LINK
Installation Notes:
Your device must be unlocked for this to work. If you don't know how to unlock it, there is a link on my signature with a guide on how to do this. Also, this is only for the HTC Vogue - which is a CDMA device (no SIM card). It will NOT work for any device that doesn't fall under this. Not sure if you have a Vogue? Go to the WIKI and find out. I am not responsible for damage to your device (not that anything should happen, but legal disclaimers are meant for the "what ifs" )
Drop the XDA_UC folder located in the rar file onto the root of your SD card. Flash and soft reset. The UC process will start upon second boot. You can add/remove any cabs that you want to (or not want) so that the system will install them automatically.
CDMA Weather Fix:
Select the weather in your city in the Manila tab prior to installing this fix. Once it is selected, install and soft reset.

Egz - glad to see you have a new one out! I'm downloading right now and will flash sometime tomorrow. By the way, in post #2 the screenshots didn't show up, just thought I would let you know. I'll let you know how the new ROM is working once I get it flashed.

hehe, I am aware of the screenshots. I was trying to get My Mobiler to see my device, but it just refused to connect. I will try to get something like CapSure or some other tool and get the screenshots directly from my device...

It should as long as you install the Verizon provisioning cab over top NFSFan's roms are built for Bell by default but they run fine on other carriers. I'm not sure if there is something special about MetroPCS that would cause issues but I think you should be fine.

Right on the money. I will put a link to Codybear's post, which has most of the carrier specific cabs. Thanks for the reminder, cod!

Which instructions do you follow for Verizon? The ones he has listed or the ones he links to in NFSFan's ROM post?

The instructions for Verizon that cody gave seem pretty much on the money from what I have read. Try that and if it doesn't work, let me know and I'll get you something else . BTW, the MMS composer in the UC folder is preset for VZW, you may not need to do anything...
The new rom is great, but aggggg the vibration! I did a google to find a registry key to turn it down (not off) and came up dry. Otherwise solid work so far!!! Thanks.!

what vibration??
If you got my 25005, there is a fix for it (you have to edit the registry in a couple of places), which I posted on that thread (it is related to Showcase and it was driving me nuts too ). My advise would be to go with 28230. It seems a bit more stable...
Ouch my bad
Sorry, but I've flash my phone at least 5 times this week, and incorrectly identified the current rom. I need to flash to this one. My Bad

Well, it is Friday, in Miami with no moon at all
I've got it up and running this afternoon. Here's s couple of thoughts & questions:
#1) I couldn't get your included ROMUpdateUtility.exe to run on Vista. I just dropped the nbh file in a folder from another rom and it flashed fine. I may have had a corrupted download, but it all extracted fine.
#2) CM Internet Sharing and ICS Control, are these useful on a phone without wifi? I'm curious to know how they can be used.
#3) I'm an EzInput bigot. I still think you should add it
#4) You have a lot of config utils included. Not sure how easy it is to do when cooking, but you might want to throw those in the Tools folder in the start menu. I doubt 90% of users would touch those.
Good job, thanks for cooking these for us.
Is anyone else having marketplace problems in this build? Seems to be slower when running, and I've had several "server" errors..

I am getting intermittent networking issues on Bell for the last 24hrs. I was blaming it on the ISP...maybe its a problem with 28230

Please upload again
Hello.
I tried to get update.zip from Dropbox, but error occured.
Please upload it again.
Mirror
Now you can download from original dropbox links because the restriction of public links was just temporal.
And mirrored links:
update.zip //kie.nu/MJa
update_googleapk_20120906.zip //kie.nu/MIM
Because I am new user, I cannot contain urls in my posting. Please add http: before //kie.nu then you can get the files.

All In One Place.

First and foremost I have to said that I really appreciate this site, with out it I would have bricked my device a long time ago. But with that, and please understand this is just a suggestion/request, could users that have had time with a rom and have got it figured out post the following
1. Which Rom your using? Not a full walk-through but just which rom.
2. Which Kernel your using? Not a full walk-through but just which Kernel.
3. Apps and or Setting your using to get the best Battery/Sound/Usable out of your device? Here the more info you can give would be greatly appreciated
4. Have you found a fix for something that was reported to not work on this rom? Not a full walk-through but just the link.
The reason why I am asking is in one rom post alone has 37 pages, another has 82 and one has 97, and that is not all of them. It is a lot to weed through and if it would nice to see what is the best out there.
MOD, I may have put this in the wrong place please move if you need to.
