http://www.pbsite.net/sknight71/software/files/MsgPlayer.exe
Is this what your looking for?
Andre
Can you
Give please link to the page, can not download with this link.
thank you
Don't think that is what you are looking for.
The main page is at http://pbsite.net/sknight71/index.php
The description of the software "This program is used to play looped recordings. You can set each of the four application buttons to a different sound. Currently the sound files must be located in the Windows directory."
As far as I know, there isn't any answering machine software for PPC phone yet.

I guess the title pretty much sums up my question but just to let you know what I've done so far I'll explain fully.
I've been dropping my audio files into the 'Rings' directory for my ringtones without problem. I can then assign these with Start-->Settings-->Phone.
However my dilemma arises when I wish to use a personal audio file as my incoming SMS tone. I've tried copying these to both 'Rings' and also to 'My Music' (although anywhere would be ok I'm sure?). When I try to select an audio file from Start-->Sounds & Notifications-->Notifications I can't see any of my audio files in the 'Event' list to choose for 'Messagin: New Text Message'.
Can you help? Thx in advance.

Try reading the instruction manual..
Start\Sounds & Notifications\Notifications Tab\
User drop down menu to get to Messaging: New Next Message.. Make sure the 'Tick Box' is filled in and use drop down menu to change sound.
If you desire a custom sound, put custom .wma sound into "Windows" on PPC.
Hope this helps..?
Cheers!
After searching for the present notification samples (namely Alarm1, Alarm2 etc...) and finding these within the windows directory of the handset I simply decided I'd store my audio files in the 'Windows' directory to see if they appeared in the 'Event' list.
Tada! I now have funky audio files for my incoming SMS tone. Hope this helps anyone else having difficulty with this problem.

Try reading my post j/k
As I mentioned I can change the Event sound for Windows actions but I want a personal audio file to be used instead. I since worked it out but you managed to get your reply in before I posted mine
I haven't got a manual btw it was an eBay PDA2K purchase and came with no manual a little annoying being a PPC noob but easy enough to use anyway. Just need to find some regedit tools now and see what's really under the bonnet!
Thx for your reply btw

It's not got everything but try here.. It's on the T-Mobile UK site..
http://www.manuals.t-mobile.co.uk/start.asp?manual=844
The online manual is VERY HANDY, thanks for that link *bookmarked*
I'll probably d/l the pages and reference images to use offline incase T-Mobile suddenly decide to remove the pages one day (knowing my luck this week).
I'm actually unable to register fully with http://www.clubimate.com as the PDA2K is pre-owned and consequently I need to pay $59.99 to get access to updates and downloads. Which unfortunately for me includes manuals and ROM upgrades. So again I can't thank you enough for the MDAIII link

I wouldn't worry about the clubimate registration as, if required, an i-mate ROM update would proabably be posted in here..
Regarding the Manual, it's probably best to made it usable off-line as I'm not too sure how long the On-line manual will be available.. They've recently stopped selling the MDA3, you know!
Enjoy the BA!
Cheers!
i was trying to do the same..but it doesn't seem to work
i copied both versions *.wma and *.wav..in /windows
but it still does not come in the list..though it comes in the incoming call list
im using wm5..though i doubt that should make a difference
hello??
seems no one knows !! i dont think its that tough?! i tried changing the registery value to the location of the file
still does not work
There is a profile Appliction is this CAB file : "signed_UNI_o2AUI4_build88.cab"
The CAB is in the: "O2_XDA_Exec_Extended_ROM_1.13.188" (found on the FTP server)
Unfortunately there is also other (O2) crap, that I don't want.
I found out that I need the following files:
- backlight.png
- phone.png
- PowerProfiles.exe
- profiles.dat
- scheduler.dat
- Scheduler.exe
- sound.png
The 3 images (.png files) are use in the application PowerProfiles. I guess the profiles.dat stores the information. The Scheduler.exe is the app for handeling the times, give to the profiles. And the scheduler.dat stores the times.
I coppied the files to my phone and it worked. But thats not enough. I want the Profile App on my today screen. So I can switch profiles fast, like a nokia foon.
Can anyone help me? Suggesting other programs to handle Profiles is welcome 2.

Does anyone know a .DLL Editor/viewer program that can read PocketPC .dll files?
Re:
posted the application myself...in the other forum...just search for it....the only prob is the generic icon of the exe
cheers
oops sorry....my bad!! didnt read the entire post , well actually there was a dll for today plugin...in the extended rom...never bothered bout it though
If you want to change profiles from the today screen then "PhoneAlarm" is probably the best. See this at www.pocketmax.net.
The today skins for this application allows you to change profiles directly from the today screen and even without the use of stylus.

I found a o2aui_profiles.dll
But how can I make a Today Items out of it?
I want to crack open the Setup.dll of the CAB file.
I found PE Explorer from www.heaventools.com, does someone have some experience with this tool? Or know an other tool to read out the DLL
I"m new at this so i hope i will be shown some leniency if i say something wrong. From what i understand WM6.1 for windows mobile standard should have remote desktop access available to it. Can anyone verify this? and also has anyone used it ? Secondly is it possible to use port over only that functionality from the WM6.1 Excalibur for example for use with the cavalier? I've seen a cab floating around in the forums but this is the touchscreen implementation of it and if its possible to port the WM6.1 standard functionality that would work great, i hope. Hope to hear back from you experts with thoughts on this. Thank you.
HI EVERYONE.
In case anyone of you had been looking for it already, i just found a post that actually had the file that i want. Please refer below. It installed fine on my cavalier and i'll test it out and let everyone know how it goes. Thank you and i apologize for the false post.

Hello
Ive just got the HTC Touch and its the first time I use a WM phone.
I feel there are many options missing and I'd love some help from you guys. this is my first post.
First is there a way we can create a shortcut that directly starts a new SMS msg to send ?
How do I make some programs start automatically as windows starts ?
The built-in calculator is the ugliest thing ever, i want an easy to use calc and not scientific , not necessarily loaded with options. I used calcium for N95 i loved it it was just perfect and straight to the point. ( http://www.mtvoid.com/calcium/ )
what a good registry editor for WM ?
......eum , ill add more questions later
hope u guys can help
edit: Also how can i add more profiles ? like beep once and such ?

Hi
First of all, welcome!
Then please READ here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Elf
or here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Elfin
depending on your device
Good luck,
Welcome to xda
Firstly we have a Q&A section here on xda. if you have questions, please post them there.
Secondly:
As orb has already stated just about anything you can ever imagine can be found in the wiki, as he included some links to get you started.
Thirdly (Yes i'm getting somewhere keep reading )
Shortcuts can be created to create new sms's
you will need to know how to make .lnk files which are simply pure text files containing a path, read on here.
To make programs start up with windows a link to the program needs to be placed in the windows\start up\ folder
Try total commander for a registry editor\ advanced file explorer
For programs check freeware websites such as these.
Hi. I know Java and C# enough to write small programs and I'm very currius about that can I do something like this:
When I start a program it visually touches windows icon, then opens word mobile and types some word on it?
I mean, is it possible to make a program which acts like a user as it can be easily done in assembly language?
If the answer is yes, can please tell me where can I learn those comments and learn more about this?
Thanks
Any suggestions??Please??
AFAIK, it will be hard with JAVA...
But...
MortScript, a superb freeware, can do what you described, and more !
Check it at :

or directly at DEV's website : http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=ms_overview

Thank you soooooo much This is what I'm looking for. Really, thank you
You're welcome !
Another way of doing it in code (C++) is to use SendMessage() or PostMessage() to send WM_KEYDOWN and WM_LBUTTONDOWN messages to the window in question.
In VB or C# use a Message class object to do it.
Auto Hotkey for WM should work too!
Never tried it out myself, haven't had a need for it yet.
But I use it for my PC all the time!
