Has anyone heard or learned something about the new WM6.1?
Some people say that the the main changes are the following:
-Copy / Paste
- Domain Enroll in Settings (Enrolling in a domain will connect your device with company resources.)
- New home screen (pan left and right to check out missed calls, notifications like email, sms, etc.)
- Change Master Security Code
- Added text input settings
- Recent Programs when pressing Start menu
- Threaded SMS!
- When you compose an email, or SMS, and start typing the name of the contact in the "To:" field, the contact names finally pop up like Windows Mobile Professional!
- Internet Explorer now lets you define a homepage, and also zoom in and out using a nice and clean interface

as has been mentioned before, windows mobile 6.1 with the carosel thingy is smartphones, not for phones that use a stylus.
mattie's response should be in the wiki
I was going to say, you oculd do most of those things in WM5
hahaha
hi,
i've been searching for a mod for the standard calendar / a new calendar that would show the color by catagory for the appointments just like you have it in outlook 2k7 or in essential PIM.
i'm using my hx4700 as 640x480 and have plenty of space (big thx to tobias' REAL VGA)
so my question is - is there a way to mod the original calendar to show the appointment bars in category depending colors?
i'm not very much into programming - so i hope that some one could help me a bit
tia,

_________ edit ___________
to point out more exactly what i'm missing -> i don't want a week to be displayed like it is in agendus or pocket informant - that kind of a layout is crap. the way the wm6 internal calendar shows a week is great, it's just missing some color option (i'm missing it)
hi again
could someone just tell me if i've posted this into the right forum for my question?
if so - does this mean that there simply is no solution to my problem?
greets
Same Interest...
I'm interested in the same addition/modification. I'm currently using Agenda Fusion, which is sloooow on my Touch, just so I can have that weekly view with the color-coded appointments (by categories). Would definitely be willing to donate to an able development effort! Thanks.
still searching ...
will donate for a working solution
I just came to PPC from a long history of Palm devices with a Palm Treo 650 as my most recent one. I got used to a really fast and efficient although less aesthetic interface that allowed me to enter appointments and generally any data pretty fast. Applications like Agendus or Adarian Money allowed me almost zero-time operation when entering contact info, appointments or payments. I must say that I am disappointed with my Samsung i780, specifically the way it works with text fields.
On the Palm,
- starting to write in a text field or starting a sentence after a period and a pause would make the first letter capital
- on fields with numbers and time, i wouldnt have to push the FN key to enter numbers, that would be automatic depending on the field i am in
I am not sure if there is anything that can be done with the overall interface of PPC, it tends to be less clear and less straight-forward also thanks to colors and various effects compared to Palm. Any advice from those that made a similar switch? Any interface apps that could make information on PPC more clear and understandable?
Any advice appreciated.
Does anyone know if it is possible to enter items in the Calendar and have them Carry Forward and appear as reminders each day until they are acted upon? This was possible with The DateBook program for Palms where items could be entered as "Floating Events".
I'm using Touch Pro2 with Spb shell 3.5
Thanks.
Hi Everyone...
Basically wanna spit 'at' notifications to a cookoo or martian......
Wondering if there is a drop in binary that will send alerts to these devices or how hard the programming would be???
Basically, I need periodic triggering ( with the martian - a 6 character text message as well ), would be nice if the other features of the watch aren;t lost i.e. the generic app can handle camera control / audible mute etc....
I ran across a post on this site in some device leaf about good support on the cookoo for calendar alerts ( and disabling / customisation of other alerts )....... but I don't wan't my "common" calendar stuff triggering, just the "special" vibrations...
Does anyone have a cookoo or martian and can confirm there is a way "in app" to periodicly ( multiple - variable - preset ) make these things vibrate. Or has anyone came across someone hacking a binary that talk to these units.
In the stuff i've read.....the cookoo seems most app friendly
and
the martian may give me text notifications ( not sms - just a preset string...from a seperate calendar??? )
Cheers.
