It is probably your ROM version installed on the BA.
The newer versions of the ROM do not come with PhotoID.

SMS backup to PC-getting tool SMS Export(yorch.net) working?

HI together, :?
I`m new in this forum and found it because I have a issue I don`t get rid of. I have 2500 sms messages on my xda and want to sell it to get a new one. My problem is I don`t want to delete my whole sms messages as there are so many important one I can`t delete as I need them documented.
I installed now the SMS Export tool from yorch.net as I red in this forum here that I should be able to get this done with this tool.
Problem is that I´m not able to get it done successfully.
1. I downloaded the tool and installed it from my PC over Active Sync on my xda.
2. I can see the SMSExport.vce file in my root folder on my xda
3. I can see the VICERT.vce and Visual CE.unload file under /windows
Problem is now that I need asistance how I can use the tool now ?
1. If I start the VICERT.vce file I get the msg "Run VisualCE.exe to create a form"
2. If I run Visual CE.unload file as I don`t see a exe I get the msg that there is no application assigned to the file?
3. If I riun the SMSExport.vce file I get a programm called SMS Export Utility in front of me where I don`t know how to handle to get the sms messages on my local PC.
My aim is to read the sms messages on my local pc (word or txt file) and burn it as backup on a cd.
I would really appreciate any help as I spent hours already on this topic and I`m not smart enough to get it done.
Thanks in advance...

Problem installing Caller ID 1.20

I am having trouble installing Caller ID 1.20 on my PDA2K. it says the files are in use even if I delete the Caller ID shortcut out of the Windows/Startup folder. Any sugestions. All I really wanted was the ability to have individual ringtones for different contacts. Will this do it for me. My current Caller ID is 1.17. Thanks in advance.
Did you reset your phone after deleting the shortcut?
This shortcut will be executed when the phone boots and after that you can't terminate the process. That's why you need to remove the shortcut and then reboot the phone. This way you won't have Caller_ID running when trying to install a newer release.
Good luck,
vma
Had the same problem, need to delete the files that it *****ed about as well as remove the statement out of the start up.
you will need to rename the file that it says in use.... for example... callerid.dll rename it to callerid.dll.old and then you can delete it .... it will take you a long time to install but that's the only way that i know of
good luck
Is this an upgrade to the caller id pprogram that comes with the PDA 2k or a 3rd party app...where did you get it.
Anybody know what the difference is between the 1.2 and the 1.17 version? Where can I download the 1.2 version?
thx!!

how do i install realone player ?

How do get realone player into my BA? BBC pda says it will play only realone most of the times and only sometimes on WM.can any one help me plz?
rom-1.31.00 wwe
there is a realplayer for ppc do a google search,
if it doesn't install (during the install process) go to temp files and you will find the real.cab copy it to your ppc and install it.
if you still can't find it post here I'll send it to you.
Thanks, will try and get back.I did download realone from the net for ppc to my desktop, should I copy this to my storage card and then try installing it? Im pretty hesitant to do fiddle around ,if something goes wrong I have no one to pull me out here in cghennai except THIS FORUM!!

Click to collapse
If you have downloaded a cab file then copy it to the ppc and run it from there. If it is an exe file, run it on desktop and proceed with the installation.
You might face some problems, if you have activesync 4.x installed because installer of realone works with only 3.x version of activesync.
got realone in finally
Yep I did it finally.Activated activesync via blutooth (remember my cradle is broken?)downloaded realone for PPC from the net.Ran the setup on my desktop and it automatically installed realone on my PPC via blutooth. It all seemed like magic but its done. Thanks guys you've been a great help.

WM5 Storage problem, please help!!

Hello,
This is my first post,
I did search the forum but i couldnt find an answer.
I have a Trinity/HTC 3600 with WM 6 (adewidth s dutch version).
And i have a weird problem
Thw WM5 Storage is working fine, when i activate it i see in windows (vista) the removable drive appear. Access is fine.
But wheni want to copy MP3's it starts copying and after a few seconds windows says (translated form dutch): "can't read from source file"
The files are fine and copyable, (no read only or stomething like that).
It s not only mp3. The weird thing i noticed till now is, when i pick very small files, it does copy it to the sd-card on my HTC Trinity. But as soon as it's a bit bigger (i dont know excactly, i guess it when it s bigger then 600 K)
It gives this problem.
Mayeb it has nothing to do with the fiels size, i dont know, mayeb it s a coincidence but it seems like.
It just wont copy the file and gives that message: Can't read source file"
Any suggestions or experiences with this
thnx in advance

amateur/newbie in need of help thred

Hi guys, ive had my touch hd 3 days now and ive been riducled by everyone that i didnt go for a iphone, however ive spent alot of time on here and its plain to see that so much can be done and be added!
Now i gotta confess i dont know what a CAB file is, i dont know what ROM is, i dont know what this manilla is, so i hope you can see my probs!
During my 3 days ive managed to download the blackpad dialler and the hd tweak(altho they took me ages), but i wanna change the theme, the wallpapers, i wanna add apps like google maps etc..
I hope this thread will attract people who can help people like myself out and explain how to do stuff and where to go etc..
Btw how do i choose a downloaded song(synced via windows media) to be my ringtone? haha such a amateur!
Thank you for any help in advance!
have you read the wiki? that will help allot, helped me 2.
the wiki??? lol
a .cab is an install file you copy to your phone and then tap it to execute from like file explorer. most installs if they are exe you run them on you PC and they send a cab file to you phone through activesync. but if its a cab file just copy to you phone and execute. If you dont like it yoou can uninstall from eith the phone in Settings/System/Remove Program.. or from you PC on activesynce or mobile device center.
Where on the phone is file explorer? but thanx for the rest, actually makes sense, god im blonde!
where can i read about this wiki?
Its in programs.
Honestly, I would reccomend you go through your phone. Go into programs and see whats there. Then go into each of the settings options and see whats there.
Then learn the hierarchy of your phone memory.
You will see that it is similar to Windows.
The top directory will be"My Device" and under it will be "Storage Card" which is your memory card (similar to an external hard drive analogy for a desktop) and then you will see Program Files where programs are installed and My Documents contains the following folders and more:
My Videos where you videos you record will be saved
My Pictures
This is the wiki page - it's VERY helpful: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone
And, the software wiki is here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Software
You chose well. The Blackstone is an amazing bit of kit!
Keep in mind that it's basically a small computer with an aerial. Unlike the iPhone its not just a fancy phone.
Any computer needs a way for the user to tell it what to do... thats the operating system in the blackstone that's windows mobile (or winmo). You also need a user interface (ui) so you can tell it what to do. The HD uses touchflo 3d (tf3d). That's the front screen with all the tabs and clocks and stuff.
Like any computer... programs are installed to do different things. The dialers, sms, camera are all programs. This means you can install new programs to do things or overwrite programs to change what you already have.
These programs come in two main forms the cab file and the exe. The cab runs only on the phone and the exe will only run on the phone or your computer. There are lots of cabs to do lots of things. Download one that's interesting and run it.
Everything is stored in files on your blackstone. You can look through these files using file explorer... you will find that in your programs tab on tf3d. files are stored in folders. that means you can organise them the way you like.
The secret to the blackstone is to think about what you'd like to be able to do with it then search here or google to find a way... there usually is one.
