Making msvc work with lid closed - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

Using ms voice command work with bluetooth headset button on the universal makes the device almost perfect. But there just one prob that with the devices lid closed the progrm stops responding.
now who would like to spoil the screen keeping the lid open and wid universal u just dont want to take the device out of ur pocket and open the lid each time u wanna make a phone call.
I have the registry key pointing towards voicecmd.exe but when the lid is closed , upon pressing the headset button i hear the beep sound but that doesnt wakes up the device. One doesnt face the same problem using sddialer , the program wakes up the device but nt so in case of VC Solving this problem would b gr8.
Hope some1 can comeout with a solution. thanks in advance.

With the proporta alu-leather case, you can keep the lid open without risking damaging teh screen, its got a nice aluminium plate over it
Simple, but obviously not the solution you were looking for.

is this a common problem?

my xda2s recently experienced a problem which consists of the volume bar keep going up and up making the 'end' noise repeatedly, and if say the volume bar on the side were to be pressed down, it would go down n go up again...
secondly, the power button is not functioning well, it can turn the phone on by clicking it once (as usual) it can turn the backlight on and off by holding it (as usual) but it wont turn off by pressing it once, or anything...
help please, thank you
doesn't happen with any of my 3... sounds like you've got them there problems.
pYroboy,
let me know if you found the resolution. My problems are similar to yours...
Thanks.
doesnt happen to any of my two BA...
try opening up your unit and clean up the contacts.
I did open it, but could not figure out which contact to clean. Power switch is sooooooo freaking small, I did not figure out what I could clean there, it seems that it is 2x4mm in size soldered for good to the board. Same about volume rocker/switch on the side.
How is it possible to clean them??? I could not figure out what could be cleaned there without detaching the switches from the board.
Does anyone sell these parts? Maybe it would be easier (although not easy also because they are so freaking small) to replace them??
Guys, need advice from you... from the ones who fooled around with similar parts...
Thanks.
try an air brush. or a fast evaporating contact cleaner.
just make sure you apply enough pressure not to blow the sensitive parts away.
*just becareful
OK. Thanks. I'll try that. But where do you people get that stuff. Do they sell it in electronics stores, or I need to look someplace else?
I need to do something anyway, because today I can't turn ON. I used timeout of 1 minute on battery power to power it OFF. But not being able to turn the whole thing ON really put me down....
Is there any program to remap Power On/Off button to Recorder or Media Player buttons on the side? They are all 3 the same switches. If it would be possible, I'd get by using one of those buttons.... Just running out of freaking ideas here....
contact cleaners can be found in your local radioshack(i.e. electronics or computer botique/shops).
regarding the power button i think that is hardwired to be the only powerbutton for the unit. sad to say you cant map it to powerup your BA.

Assuming you have the button lock enabled you can wake it up by receiving a phone call, and then disable the button lock and use any button to wake up/turn on the device. This is not the most elegant solution, but if cleaning fails to fix it then it may be your only option.

Phone dialing while in pocket, unsure what to do :/

Hey i have a quite a bad problem. My phone appears to be unlocking its self very easy and ringing people in my pocket, today it rang 8 people in the space of an hour. Ive got pocketshield but this stops it picking up calls, not ringing them. Im unsure what to do. I dont even know how its happening, im thinking the top button must keep getting pushed in my pocket or something.
Any ideas/apps to lock phone after wakeup? I dont want to put the pin on it because it may end up locking my phone instead! plus its a bind having to enter a pin every few minutes. Something like pocket shields scroll down the screen etc would be good. But i see no option to enable it for when waking up.
Thanks.
I've had no such issues since using S2U2. Give it a try!
Or LockMeLite - much lighter than S2U2 and doing just what you want - locking the screen and hardware buttons when power button is pressed and unlocking the screen on incoming call so you don't have to unlock to answer and still keeping the buttons disabled so you can take it out of the pouch without accidentaly answering/ignoring the call.
Me too.. LockMeLite has been definitive for me. No more "lost" calls by hardware.
Fk
My solution was to stick a crystal case on it,it recess's the power button so its not pushed by accident.
if u press and hold the phone icon bottom right it locks the screen , to unlock pull out the stylus.
the problem is its not to do with calls or texts, i have pocketshield for that. Its to do with the powerbutton keep getting knocked. At least i think it is.
holdign down the phone key to lock the screen sounds like a gd idea ill look into that.
And yeah getting a protective case might solve it too. Ill cehck that out too thanks, though i do kinda like the sleak design. I gues its gona get ruined proably lol.
:EDIT:
Simply locking the screen before turning it off works a charm! thanks. Now im just wondering, is there an app that will just auto lock it when i turn screeen off ? Just makes it all that easyer so i dont forget and call people again!
I had the same problem before using a belt case. I tried s2u2, but it's lagging. Now I'm satisfied with Pocketshield. Just work in its setting and you can have it work well.

Again - LockMeLight. It locks the screen automatically when the phone goes to sleep and you have to slide the screen down when waking it to unlock it. On top of that it disables the hardware buttons when locked, so no accidental calls are made when you unwillingly wake the device even with the screen locked.
original case
i use original htc case for hd.

buttons problem...

my BA is quite old...
its buttons are not working properly...
when I press them, I hear them click but they do not work...
i have to press harder but that damages the screen...
the "down" button on my D-pad doesn't work anymore...
can you tell me some solutions..
thanks...
the best thing is you have a look at the -=service manual=- and open up the device and try to fix it, or have a look at ebay, whether you find a new case with buttons, in case the buttons' pins are broken off.

You could try to find a used BA in eBay and buy it for spares and change the needed parts.
Edit:
Chef beat me to it
well...
sometimes the down button is working but most of the time (or everytime) it's not working...
also, the IE, ok/close, home, and green phone buttons are not working...
thanks...
You'd better let the professional person to fix the keyboard for you. Tell them all the problems and they will check the phone for you.
hokay
when u open up the buttons, the buttons is like a bullseye with a circle ring, the plate(clicking button) which is supposed to connect them is out of place after many many clicks, just readjust the plate and everything will be as cool as ever.

Handsfree when laying on the back not working

Hi,
When i put my phone at the back most of the times the green led won't go on and then handsfree is not working.
Sometimes it does work.
Best regards
Gert
The TP2 is very particular about this. You need to lay the TP2 face down on a completely level surface for it to work properly. (If you're doing this, then perhaps the G-Sensor needs recalibrating.)
When there are no level surfaces around, I press the 'Speaker' button on the call screen manually.

Keyboard intermittent / stops working

The keyboard on my TP2 (Verizon) intermittently stops working (no key press registers, however the buttons on the face of the phone still do). After soft reset it works again. This is with different ROMs. I'm thinking, perhaps, there is a loose connection internally. It also has odd crashes, but this might only be a ROM problem as it is much less pronounced with the latest ROM I'm using (Elite team ROM).
Diagnosis? I'm reluctant to send it into Verizon for just this, as its only occasional. Wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing
I'm having this same exact issue. I'm using the latest ROM from HTC. Sometimes when I open the keyboard in an app, like texting or email, the keyboard is genreally non-responsive. When it's in this state, the enter key goes to windows Apps but all other keys failed to work. I also test by pushing the FN to see if the FN light tunrs on.
What's strange with mine is the keyboard will work when it's open like for phone use, but when open with an app like text/email/bing, it doesn't...
Like previous poster, not sure if hardware ro what...
This may not have anything to do with your problem, but..
I have the PTT button on my tilt2. I have a case that wasn't designed to encompass that button, so it gets covered up (I had a find time finding a case that did actually fit!)
I have the PTT button assigned to do nothing, but with it being pressed down, it makes my keyboard non-responsive as well as disabling the arrows keys on my touchscreen. It will however work for a while after restarting my phone, but it always goes back to the same thing.

Thank you very much for posting this. I do have the same exact setup, I have the PTT button unassigned and I too have a cover that covers it. So maybe it's pressing it down causing the problem.
I hope this is it and really appreciate your post...
UPDATE:
Sweet, I just checked things out. removed the cover and it would the keyboard doesn't go non-responsive when I push the PPT button, and works when I don't...
By George, I think you got it!!!!
GREAT!!!!
