Hi,
I have just received my Qtek 9090 and I am very happy with it so far.
One thing I could not figure out yet is how to send an SMS with the keyboard without using the stylus? When I'm editing the SMS, I should be able to just press one key to send it and I can't find it.
Thanks for your help.
keyboard send message solution
Hi,
you can press "Lock/FN" key (lower left key) and then "Menu" (lower right key) and a menu appears. The you can use the navigational "joystik" to select "SEND" and the middle button on the joystick to select the option....
and there she goes......
okay, yes. On my system t seems that I can simply press "Menu" and then "Return". That's fine by me. Thanks.
Now another one Do you know a way to very quickly get in the SMS "Compose" window - without touching the screen?
Thanks,
François
Use the second softbutton above the call button to get into the messaging application. Press the navigation button to the side until you see Text Messages above the New menu. Hit the menu button on the keyboard. Use the navigation button and press "new"

Is there a program that lets you send ringtones and file attachments via sms like on the Nokia communicator series?
never heard about anybody being able to attach anything to sms's
are you sure that the nokia dont just sendt it as pop3 over grps ?
the communicators don't have gprs. I used to have 100's of ringtones on my 9210 and sms them to friends' nokia phones.
@t0flus : Great, thanks. I was mssing the side nav button thing !!!
So far, I'm very hapy with this device even if coming from HP 4150 I find it a bit heavy but I don't carry a phone anymore so, all in one, it is okay.
I guess the ultimate thing would be an SDA with Wifi
Other question : anyone of you leaving bluetooth always on ? Whith what impact on power consumption? I could not try yet because I did have the opportunity to try while staying close from power source during the day to cope with possible low on the batteries side...
Thanks.
Also, this we, I'll purchase a TomTom Nav 3 BT unit. I'll report here how the things go with the BT headset and GPS together.
I would like to know how to assign button 'OK' to another program just like porgrma 'mort player'.Pls advise me. Thank you in advance.
that makes two of us. anyone?
You can us AE Button Plus, this can map any key to any program
Can i change it vai register ?
AEButton plus does this for me.
The only problem is you cannot map both "Ok" buttons on the Hermes as it causes some strange behavior and locking up of buttons.
What I love about AEB is that all my buttons now have multiple uses.
My Mail button: single press = Mail app double press alt Tab to next application
IE Button: Single Voice Minder, Double Picsel Browser
Voice Dial: Single Voice Dial, Double VJ Flashlight
Front OK: Single Close App, Double Task Manager, Triple Oxios free ram
Comm Manager: Single Comm Manager, Double BandSwitch
etc etc
A little tricky to set up at first but well worth it in the end

My problem is only 'OK' button and the other buttons is alright !!!
hi all, is there a way to regedit the SEND button in the SMS window? so that it reacts just like PocketCM does. pressing it for 250ms before it actually sends out a message. because the send button is to close to the on-screen keypad that i'd accidentally press it while writing a message. thanks in advance.
PocketCM is a cool program but i would like to stick to the original sms program to send smses.
What does the this button on the Touch Pro2?
Is this button also an okay button? I don't see any ok button on the Touch Pro2 keyboard and if it doesn't have it, I won't get the Touch Pro2. The picture is attached on my first post.
It is the "back" button

So it deletes text and moves back in opera browser? That's all? That's the dumbest hardware choice ever.
Seriously man, what does it do and WHEN DOES IT DO IT?
When it goes back, does it alt tab also?
Please be specific, I obviously know what back does but the point is that I need to know exactly how it works.
For example the zoom bar on toshiba tg01 only works in the web browser while the zoom bar on the touch pro2 works in both the browser and in images.
So please explain in detail. I need an okay button.

No TP2 for you. It's a return key.
What is does? Well, it goes back. Twice if you press it twice.

Oh I see it's like the back key (which also functions as delete) on my Xperia.

Yea. it backs up pretty much any program your in. Also, if your in a windows menu, hitting that will take you back to the previous menu, or to the home screen if you hit it enough times. hitting the 'end call' button im told also takes you directly to the home screen.
Not sure if it works for Text typing. as when your typing, you should either be using the on-screen keyboard, or the hardware keyboard, both of which have their own backspace.
It interesting that not a lot of people know this. The back key can be used as an okay key. Every time you have a window with an okay button, you can use the back key for it.
(I've actually seen a review of the TP2 that blasts it for not having an okay button)
Hmmm very interesting posts.
You see my Xperia has an okay button but it only serves as functions for pressing the ok or x on the screen.
However the okay button does not goes back between web pages and that kind of stuff or text editing.
But my Xperia has a [del/backspace] key on the keyboard and it also serves as a backspace and web page browsing button that goes to the previous page.
So are you saying that the 3rd button on the TP2 is a combination of both the [del/backspace] and the okay button?
By the way...does the Touch Pro2's back button also apply settings when it presses [ok]?

Yes it functions exactly as the ok button on screen. I've just tried it out and it saves settings etc
Here's my attempt at a definitive answer to this. The back key
does the following:
-In Opera, if any text fiels is selected (ie, address bar, search bar, text box in website) it functions as the backspace key. (This is quite silly, I think)
-In Opera, if no text fields are selected, it functions as a back button.
-In all apps, it functions as an ok and minimize button. It will save settings. Eg, if you have the calculator app opened, pressing this button will minimize it.
-In level 1 TF3D tabs, it'll return you to the Home tab. Eg, if at Weather tab, it'll bring you to Home tab.
-In the Album app, if viewing a picture, it'll bring you back out to thumbnail view.
-In all 2nd level views of TF3D, it'll bring you back to the level 1 tab where you were. Eg, if you're in the Music Library, it'll bring you out to the Music tab.
-In Calendar day view, it'll bring you back to month view.

Thanks, I will highly consider swapping this for the Xperia X1 and paying maybe 100-150 dollars that the X1 can't pay for (if I get the money of course).
I wonder if anyone knows about what the "House" button on the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 is going to do. They switched it from a Windows Symbol into a House.
Hi,
im using the i927 with OsiMood-Rom.
Today its the second time, that my hardware keyboard behaves a bit strange:
- When I press "e" the Email App opens
- When I press "b" the browser opens
First time I got it "repaired" with a reboot, for now a re-open of the keyboard helped.
What is going on there?
That is not a weird behaviour but a feature. It's called "Quick Launch" and is started by pressing and holding the search button on hw keyboard plus any key in the hw keyboard. the "E" key is the default for email (press "Search" + "E" = Email), you can modify this in settings > applications > quick launch
Thanks, I mentioned that it's something like this but I didn't know what other button activates the shortcut or where to disable it

Like me, you might be using the "Search" button (either soft/hardware keys) to launch apps a lot.....most of the time, I end up pressing search plus the first character of an app i want to launch that results in pressing the two keys almost at the same time. That is how I accidentally discovered it....
I was like searching the "Email app" then I accidentally pressed the "E" key while the "Search" key is pressed then I went "How did this thing know that I want to launch Email?"
Press your search key again on your keyboard it is stuck. Happened to me once or twice. Quick launch is launching your short cuts that are programmed because it thinks you are hitting a 2 key combination. (Search and E)
