XDA EXEC with a Road angel GPS? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

Can this be done and if so what would I need?
I have a Roadangel (older black version) and wondered if it could be used with my EXEC when it comes on tueday  as a GPS receiver?
If I'm honest I want GPS (tom tom etc) the cheapest way possible.

I did this with my Jornada 928, and it worked well. Although at the end the Road Angel Classic was taking very long to ever get a satellite fix - like 50-miles around the M25 motorway! Have since got the Origin b2, but decided not to buy the extra £50 cradle for GPS output.
For the o2 Exec/Universal you'll need a serial to mini-USB cable - think I saw one on o2's web-site - but might also need a converter at the serial end to match the RA's output pins/connector. If you're stuck, PM me and I'll see if I can find the RA's pin-out diagram.

O2 Mini Exec S + Road Angel Connection
HI there, I have an O2 miniExec S and New Road Angel, would it be possible to use New Road Angel as GPS receiver for Tom tom on my O2 mini? And would I still be able to use the camera detection function simultaneously during the connection with o2 mini exec?
Many thanks

What Model to Buy, O2 XDA IIs or Imate PDA2K

:?: :?:
Hello,
I am trying to decide what model to buy again, I used to have a PDA2K and ended up getting rid of it due to a bunch of Bluetooth issues, like crashing when trying to answer a call via the headset.
So I am giving my Treo 650 to my fiancée' and going back to the Pocket PC platform, I miss all the capabilities that I don't have with the Treo.
So, are most of the stability issues fixed with either the PDA2K and the O2 XDA IIs?
I really prefer the Black O2, but I want a stable platform, have there been any hardware revisions? will one be better than the other?
Thanks

What is O2's name for the Qtek 2020i ?

Not sure, but is XDA 2i O2's name for the Qtek 2020i?
Yesterday I droped my XDA2s (broken screen).
To get it fixed will take some time, and as I've got a friend coming over from KL in 4 days who can get me a 'cheap' XDA2i I was thinking of doing this.
I'm not really in need of a keyboard, so the XDA2i is a logical choice I think.
Any other suggestions?

GPS Receiver

All,
I am in the market for a GPS receiver for my T-Mobile MDAIII and have narrowed it down to two devices the Holux GPSlim 236 and GlobalSat BT338. Can anyone recommend which one I should go for?
Also I have a Bluetooth headset kit that I would like to use to receive calls while the MDA is using TOM TOM 5 with the GPS receiver is this possible?
Thanks in advance
Msuk
I have an Hollux 230, and I have had absolutely no problems with it (that are because of the unit, and not because of something else).

I too am in the market for a bluetooth GPS and have the very same choice to make. I have seen a guy on ebay from taiwan selling the Holux one for 99 euros + 20 euros shipping which works out about 82 pounds. I presume that your going to use it as sat nav in car(as opposed to the courtyside), if so, then what PDA mount do you have/are you going to get??
To answer your question about using the gps and the headset at the same time. I did read on these forums that if you upgrade to WM5 then the new bluetooth stack allows you to do this. I'm not sure if you can under Wm2003.
Thanks

M2000 - Corporate Install or Orange S/W?

Having owned an XDA2s in the early days I couldn't get rid of it quick enough. Reasonable PDA but unusable as a phone. My current need was for a PDA to run Tom Tom SatNav & collect e-mail via GPRS (no other phone functions). I had an old Orange SIM lying around so I've bought an M2000.
The XDA2s was slated for it's O2 software & the recommendation was to hard reset & perform a corporate install. Does the same hold true for the current M2000 (1.40 ROM) or have Orange done a beter job?
Nobody got an opinion on this?
Just installed TTN5.2 & it's running like a dog. Same version flies on my iPaq 4150 with the same same SD card/maps. Seems to really struggle starting & stopping bluetooth.

(UK) o2 exec, orange rom, where next?

Hi all....
Magician user stepping up to the universal, so been reading through all the info on updates.
I'm buying a 2nd hand o2 exec, that currently has UK orange rom, and is unlocked for all networks.
I'm putting a t-mobile sim into it....
What rom would you recommend? Any reason to stick with the M5000 rom? Should I go t-mobile (recent new one I note) for ease of setup with t-mob sim, or I note the Qtek is bare and fast?
I guess all I want that might be unusual is the A2DP stereo bluetooth and AVRCP bluetooth WM controls.
Opinions welcome.. "what would you do?"
Thanks in advance,
Qtek seems to be the most popular ROM for AUK2 support (as in with A2DP and AVRCP control). It works for most people, but some of us are having problems with getting the Qtek ROM to work perfectly with the Jabra HT620s. Good luck anyway.
Cheers Richard.
