Restore from backup - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

I need to restore a backup that it is not the last one. Apparently, Active Sync always takes the last one and I cannot find a way to change this. Is there anybody that has had the same issue?

[Q] Backup E-Mail Settings

Hi all,
Has anyone found a solution yet to fully backup your current email settings on the desire so can easily be restored when update or flash a new rom.
I use Backup Pro but there are no options to backup email settings
regards
Titanium backup has the option to backup email accounts, I haven't used it so I don't know if it will fit your needs but just try it out.
cheers will give it a try - it's the only thing that's not backed up on my phone and with half-a-dozen setup it's a pain to redo them everytime i update

Titanium Backup

Hey,
I have a question about Titanium Backup. If I understand it properly I have to lose all my apps and data to install or update a new ROM - full wipe - if necessary. Of course I may use Titanium backup but that is quite long process to restore all apps and data again, right? Do I need to tap on restoring every single app to install it etc.? AND may I restore system data as well or it makes no sense when the ROM needs a full wipe?
I really do not understand this properely. I am quite confused and I appreciate if anybody can explain me.
Thanks.
If you use the free version you will need to confirm every app restore. If you have the paid version it will restore them all. It's pretty quick too.
You can restore system data sometimes. Never if you're switching from one type of ROM to another though. Someone will have to give you more info on that part.
thanks! and one more thing. I tried some time ago restore my apps and data and There appeared a problem. I use Darktremor App2Sd and when I was restoring my apps via TB system told me I have not enough space. Probably TB haven't restored them to a correct place (internal/external). Any idea how to solve this? Thanks.

Restoring SMS, Bookmarks from a Nandroid Backup

HI i am wondering can you somehow restore certain parts of a nandroid backup, maybe if you could unpack the img or something??
The reason i ask is because i am on Oxygen 2.0.3 and last night i was using shazam and the phone rebooted. It was like a hot restart cuz there was no splash screen.
Then when it restarted the touch screen wouldnt work to unlock, also the sim unlock keypad would not come up.
I Rebooted several time nothing changed, i even tried to reinstall oxygen again without wiping and that didnt change a thing.
I decided to make a nandroid backup incase it can be fixed and then i restored a different nandroid backup from about 3 weeks ago.
That fixed everything but i had some bookmarks that i needed and some phone numbers in sms messages.
I noticed in advanced restore it will let you restore the different partitions like Data, system, sd-ext etc etc. Would one of these options help me?
THanks
Data would help. Really for SMS you need an SMS backup app.
Sent from CM7
Yeah I realise in hindsight that a sms backup would help, but the unlock screen dosnt work for that backup to install anything now.
I might try and restore the data from the nandroid backup and see how it goes

[NFC][Backup]One tap to backup Titanium, SMS and Call log?

If you like to tried out differents custom rom on your phone, I bet you'll have the same problem with me.
Do you backup the whole rom everytime you flash a new custom rom? I hope you're smarter than that. In fact, you don't need to nandroid backup the whole rom everytime you want to flash a new rom (but you do need at least one nandroid backup of the stable & daily use rom)
Instead, you only need to backup your data with some useful apps such as Titanium Backup, SMS backup & restore and Call log backup & restore, which I think these 3 backup is enough for me.
So you only need to nandroid restore to the stable rom and then restore the 3 backup I mentioned above. Believe me, this save your time a lot especially if you install a lot of apps in your phone. (A nandroid backup takes me 15 minutes for my SGS3)
And now I even think applying these 3 backup one by one is troublesome! (okay I admit I'm lazy)
So, is there any way to perform these backup activities with one tap on a NFC tag by using NFC Launcher or similar apps? Or even more advance apps like Tasker?
If you do have the same thought with me and you have some idea about this, please tell me. Thanks

Nandroid Backup problem with CM11 Unified

Ever since installing the "Unified" CM11 for the S3 I've noticed a strange side effect with nandroid backups.
I can back up and restore just fine, however, no matter what, I don't get a full restore. it seems like the system restores, but a good bit of data does not.
As in, I'm missing most apps and all of my data. Prior to this, a nandroid was a nice snapshot of the phone when the backup occurred, as you'd expect. Now, if I do a full wipe and restore, SMS is gone, Wifi access points are gone, and most of my apps aren't there. And trying to restore them with either Titanium or CWM fails.
I had to reinstall from Play Store and then restore the app data after. Not an ideal situation.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is anyone willing to give it a whirl and confirm the issue?
Thanks
anyone?
