Can you play GIF images on WM5??? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

Hi,
i found out that also the GIF images that are provided by default by WM5 on my XDA Exec cannot be played.
Just if i insert the GIF image in a MMS i can see it running fine.
Any advice???
Thanks a lot...

...nobody can help me...???

Use a image viewer like Resco Photo View.

Is it possible that in WM5 there is no software provided to see the GIF Images (that are already there by default...?). It's weird...!
Anyway, a RealPlayer can do that...or some other freeware...?
Thanks for letting me know...

Internet Explorer
Have you tried Internet Explorer?

Here's my favorite GIF...
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}

In my previous XDAII i just tapped on the GIF image and it used to open automatically. Now i tap on a GIF image and it's shown just the first image (still).
I tried to see if it was possible to set the program to be used to open the various extensions of files....but i can't find it anywhere!
How can i open a GIF using Internet Explorer?
Sorry i am such a pain in the neck...

Universal Can play GIF files, because if you receive them in MMS message they play when you open, but when it come under Picture & Video, it doesnt work... I could be problem with Picture & Video application prob.. didnt tried with Resco yet...
Tried to open with IE, doesnt work eighter.

photo dail on HTC Home Plugin

Hi all,
I've got the HTC Home Plugin up and running now, and would like to make 1 change if possible...
Can the favorite-contacts tab be changed to use photo's instead of just the names?
to clarify: I'd like the tab to look something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I don't understand your question. HTC Home Plugin's Favorite tab should work the same way as you described. Tapping an empty box should pop up Contacts app from where you can choose whom to display among Favorites.
So, the problem can be
1. You chose persons from Contacts who has no photo attached. In this case the plugin can show the name only.
2. Your installed Home Plugin is buggy - if so, try another one; there are a lot avaible in the forum.
Good luck!
Yes you canĀ“t specify the photo in HTC Home - you have to do this via pocket outlook contacts. than htc home should use the photos instead of the name
You're correct! Very sorry to have posted this, I thought I saved a photo with a certain contact, but apparently that went wrong. I assigned the photo to the contact again, and now it shows the photo!

Change Icon Opera Mini

Is it possible to change the icon of a shortcut?
I made a shortcut to Opera Mini 4 (beta2) in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and docked it in the Launcher.
But the it automatically adopts the icon of Jbed (java)

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So is it possible to change it to this one?
Oh hey, how did you do that, by the way? I'd love to be able to do that too!
The pic as an Opera pic would be great as well.
And Opera instead of IE in the Cube. So many things I would like to be Opera haha

Here they explain how to make an shortcut to Opera.
And here you can see how to make Opera the default browser.
Edit: Just figured it out myself, I had to convert the ICO to a DLL file and point the shortcut to it.
can you elaborate a bit more on your solution?
TIA
Edit:
Came upon the attached DLL, reg entries and shortcut entries (modify the entries accordingly)

[D.APP]Animated GIF to BMP Image List

I was looking for this kind of application for over a week now for some Windows Mobile project and can't find any free stuff and one time I have read that they said that there's a lot of this kind of "free" converters spread around the internet.. but I can't barely find one.
Anyway, since I cannot find any free c onverters that can convert Animated GIF to BMP Image List/Image Sequence, I decided .. well, again.. made my own.
This tool is very straight forward. Just drag and drop any animated gif file and you can export it into image list/image sequence (whichever you call it) .. this can handle greater than 250 frames!
here's the main UI with a sample animated gif.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and after the export, here's the BMP image list/image sequence.
Anyway, I resized the image to 640x47 but the original size was 2717x200 (247 x 11 frames = 2717).
If you think this might be useful for you then why not download it!
orig source ...
Just what I needed when I needed it. Thank you.
Thank you
Am not getting any notifications from XDA about what's happening on my threads. So if you guys having some problems on my apps and not getting any support from me. Am so sorry.
This post will server as a Wake Up Thread!

As ya can see the default album cover in my HD is f... ugly. I want to change it to something different (still looking). My first question is it a .manila file or .bmp or .png? Tried to find it with cfc_gui but no result, also tried to find it in device Windows folder but don't know the name of this file. Second question is how to change it if it's a .bmp or .png? Thnx in advance
Hi
It`s me again you will find all the manila music or audio files in your cfc_gui under audio\vga you can change everything in the bart of audio\vga with your GIMP, I did it already many times and the filename what you a looking for is 35e41510_manila. Do change the file copy them do you PC go in your GIMP an make you own picture or style what you prefer in 256x256 size PNG than copy them OVER the manila file what you have saved from you phone, after that , back to you phone, done!
Hi lumisab. Apparently not copied that file from my HD. I'll have to find it. Now I'm gonna have nicer cover for my unknow album. Thnx m8 [long live for gimp ]

No image attach option for mms?

Hi all,
I've run into an issue on my gs3 (running Freezas fre3 rom) - if I compose a text and press the paperclip/attach button, I don't have the option to add an image (see screenshot). The only way I can attach an image to a message is by sharing it through the gallery or whatever image browser I'm using. Is this typical? Is there any way to change the default "attach" options?

Problem solved. I had frozen the Samsung Gallery app in TB because I wasn't using it, however I believe this caused the mms app to not find a gallery to attach images from. Unfroze the app and now I can attach an image.
