Does the QTEK have a way to have differentiated ringtones for each person (group)?

caller id 1.20 should be standard on a blue angel

Without additional software (like pic&ring, etc) how can this be done?

On the assumptions that you have Caller Id 1.20 installed:
Start/programs/Photo contacts
or Contacts/Tools/Photo Contacts
or Contacts/Tap & hold any name/Photo contacts

Hi.
But that just adds a photo, right? doesn't assign a different ringtone!
I searched the web for "Caller Id 1.20" and I didn't found anything.
Is this a third party software, a characteristic, a standard...???
When I receive a call, if I assign a photo in "Photo Contacts" I see the caller's photo.

On my machine I can add ringtones as well
try PhotoContacts/Tools/about => Version 1.20 (build 17957)

For what it's worth, my XDA 2s came with 1.17. This does not support the ringtone customisation
I've installed version 1.2 and it all works well
(see the link - you need to remove the registry settings as well as the link in \windows\startup before you can delete the last of the IA* files in \Windows as instructed)
Am I using an outdated ROM image? I only got the device last Friday!

@chiark : the first thing todo is to replace the caller-id cab in the extended rom with the 1.20. So on on the next had reset, you don't have to uninstall/install again.
I don't know about how outdated the rom on your machine is. it might be that just the extended rom is older.

I've updated... but don't have... if it was supposed to be there I have messed up something with the restore...

How do you find the version of Caller ID installed? I'm probably blind, but I can't see any obvious location...

Right, no photo contacts app, so that would explain that...

a caller ID problem with universal

hey dudes, ive got a small problem with my universal. i installed Photo contacts pro, its a very cute program i iused to use on my alpine and im now using it on universal. but the thing is i cant DISABLE the default windows notification in order to let the other program handel the case. i wish any body can help me

i had problems with those bl---- notifications after i installed newsbreak,memaid and pocket mechanic didnt work.then i read somewhere about a program called check notifications.This program is simply stunning.even better is free from scarybear software

Contact First Name, First

There's a hack available for you in order to do that. It was made for the Exec, but it works on my Orbit, so should be ok for you. It's attached.

Sorry for the delay in posting.
If you've installed the cab file then there's no need to do anything now. You can now go to contacts and by accessing the menu on a particular contact you can see the "Save as: First Last" in the contact menu.
I hope this was of any use.

Thats a great hack by Grogo, this has been annoying me for a long time, what i do to get around this after adding contact on the PDA I then sync with my MS Outlook and change contact details "File As > pick option" which Grogo's hack does.

this hack wasn't made by me, so I'm not 100% sure if it'll work on a italian version of WM5.

doesnt work for me either (wm6), i see the option in the menu but it does nothing.
I used to have this on my exec and it worked fine though
EDIT:
cancel that, If i hold down my stylus on a contact and choose "File As:First Last" it works a treat, only trouble is I cant do it en-mass, I have to select each contact individually :/

i am using S2U2, from the settings menu you can choose full screen caller ID. it works great.

Be careful with Inesoft. Their latest version (I believe it is Phone 4.54) changes your dialer to an ugly WM 5 dialer. The only way to get rid of it is to hard reset your device. I tried installing dialers over it but they would not take. I let support no of the problem weeks ago but still no response.

For me Inesoft is working very well
do not afraid - u can install with no problem
I need biiger fonts in contacts, caller id etc so I just installed Inesoft 4.54 and all is working OK

I wasn't saying to be afraid of installing Inesoft Phone 4. I was just informing those who would be interested to know of the dialer change it brings with the install. Inesoft has a very nice dialer that links to the phone button, but once you're in the call it reverts to an ugly WM 5 dialer.

This looks like a nice program here, a little similar to Inesoft Phone 4...I may give this a try.

I also use Iconsoft Phonex 1.3
A very nice Fullscreen CallerID and with a simple UI

PhonEx may be just what you are looking for. They just released version 1.3.5 which also happens to include a wvga skin. It works really well on my HD and you can change the font size of almost everything. Well worth the money. Their contact manager is also pretty good. The best part is that you can enable/disable modules as required. Better than inesoft in my opinion.

Its super Fast, Stable, and Useful.
Easy to use interface, very beauty and smart.
Also the Images Appear on Full Screen and this is just one SUPER SOFTWARE

Have you looked at Resco Contacts? Excellent program and worth checking out if you haven't.

Open up the Resco Contacts settings and go to the "General" tab. Put a check mark in "Handle Incoming Calls" and soft reset your device. That should fix it for you.

Few unfixed problems in the kitchen

Ok, I decided to write new thread because most of the rom makers I pm to didn't answer me at all. Some kind of secrets or whatever. I think we should help each other to improve our ROM's but maybe I'm wrong.
I have some issues in my owe ROM which I can't really fix. Maybe someone will know the solution
1. Some ROM makers wrote in their changelogs that now CommMgr is really closing without being on the process list all the time? How?
2. I'm using EZinput keyboard 2.0.33633 full qwerty and two keyboards should be available: full qwerty and phone keyboard. Only the first one is present in the system (the second one now is standard MS keyboard instead of phone keyboard 2.0 EZinput). Why? I changed the EXT package many times to make sure it's ok and all the time the same issue...
3. Is there a working method to change system rings to wav? Every time I do it then they doesn't work. Do I have to change also some registry value?
4. Windows Media Player dosen't play any videos. I changed mHub and mHubVO into some other versions but still no efect. What else could be the reason?
That's all what I'd love to know to make my ROM better

I know how to manually switch between those keyboards using registry entries [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\ezsip]
CurrentSIP set to a00 is Phone Keypad and d00 for fullQWERTY. But still it's impossible to change it in menu (WM6.5 21725)
That's all I want to share with, maybe it will help someone. Should I expect some respond? I don't think so :]

Dude, about the comm manager, I don't know which version of comm manager are u using. But I got my comm manager working good n closing when clicked on x button. All I can say is don't use any new version like 2.8 or topaz comm manager. Use the 2.7.1.4 version. It's OG diamond comm manager n works nice. I'm using the same version.

The keyboard is still my biggest problem. I wonder what's wrong that I cannot switch between Full qwerty and phone keypad in the sip menu bar.

Did u try the GEN Y sip menu..??
I heard someone there saying that if we have the touchflo installed, then only we can change between the phone pad n qwerty board. But touchflo brings some more diff probs elsewhere.
Surprising issue this.. Coz it works perfectly fine with ezinput 1.

do u have a package of touchflo..?? If not, I'll mail it to you. Try to import it n see if it works. I had in the previous build of this kitchen.

i dont know..check gen y thread..u will definitely get moe help there. its surely been talked about in that thread.

I think I know the answer. Ability to change between keyboards wouldn't work on wm6.5 without HTC menuenhancement.

nope its not only that, u definitly need the touchflo package, but that package conlicts with wm 6.5
the only thing we can do is wait for HTC to bring out its first WM 6.5 rom for diamond2, then we can take the new touchflo or ezinput package from that rom
about the windows media player issue, make sure u have the DShow OEM in your rom

there a slight newer one in my kitchen, here are the oems i use for multimedia:
- DShow_2_00_19143426_0
- mHub_6_57_080529_E0
- mHubVO_1_75_090515_X0
u should also check the following drivers in OEMDrivers:
- qtv.dll
- qtv_mp4_decoder.dll
try replacing those drivers

And again some damn issues in my kitchen
For last two days I was looking for the source of why my Face down mute ring stopped working. In registry everything is fine. Exept of registry, is there any dll library or something responsible for that? Also when I'm in windows file explorere and want to copy the file from IS to main memory (I do tap on "Copy")and then tap on the menu to choose the location then it crashed.
Any ideas for soulution those two problems?
PS. One more thing I forgot... I used to have my clock and calendar to set up automaticly the date and time after HR but now it seems to be gone... Is it up to network type currently using? GPRS/3G? Or maybe some registry value?

Thanks dude but it doesn't work. I was trying with both, 0 and 1 to make sure but still no effect. Friend of mine checked some others 6.5 ROM's and it seems that it doesn't work in any of them.

I found out that automatic time and date set works only if 3G/SHDPA network is available. So this question is out of date.
If anyone find the solution with face down mute ring then please let me know.
Another issue that I was hoping to solve is contact list popping up every time after SR. So in titanium softkeys registry I changed SK1URL into HTCActionScreen. And now... HTCActionScreen popping up every time after SR. Any solution for that?
