your bills must be high to be with o2 select, they reward their customers by giving lower prices on upgrades and all sort of other benefits

I have read some post and I agree with there staff being crap.
But they are also quite gullable 8) ... any Im excpecting my xd2s tomo for £49.99! on o2 600 but my line rental is also half price!

I'm just about to get a new phone as my contract is up with O2 and they wont offer me any upgrades at a reasonable price, and i was just about to order a three handset (Motorola E1000),
But if you can geta IIs for £49.99 and half price line rental, then that would suit me perfectly,

I can confirm this as I have one in my pocket. In store that is, it's not on their website. It came unlocked and unbranded. HTC are currently supplying them with SIM free Desires, however this may well change at some stage.

Okay - That's >12% cheaper than Clove (after tax & shipping)! 350 is the record cheapest for the UK so far.
Here in Luxembourg it is 409€ unlocked. You can buy it at any LuxGSM Shop.
phonemania.co.uk has second cheapest price for htc desire.... including VAT it costs 385 GBP which includes shipping.... just check it out...
I bought my desire from 3 on payg for £349.99
he hehe i bought mine locked to t-mobile BUT
the handset was meant to cost me £124 + £15pm x 18months however they didnt charge me for the phone at all which means my phone costs £270+ costs of unlocking which are about £15 at t-mobile == £285
Italy: 430 is the most cheap I've seen but out of stock, 440 plus shipping can be found I think. shipping costs in Italy are quote steep, around 10-15 €

The guy asked me to buy a £10 top-up, which wasn't an issue as I gave this to my brother and he gave me the £10 back! (He's on 3 PAYG). So mine cost me £350
Even still, if you buy the £10-£20 top-up and throw it away, it's still the cheapest you can pick one up!
If you get stuck I'm sure some one on these boards will give you £10 for a £20 top-up.
I bought mine through Orange France, then promptly debranded and unlocked it.
Here is their absurd pricing scheme...

379€ tax included with a prepaid sim card -- the thing is you can just chunk or sell the simcard the second you get it, they dont even activate it. Just hand it to you and ring you up at the register.
Why anyone would pay 479 is beyond me

If it's a topup that can be applied to any 3 sim then that is different as don't mind that as can sell it. I thought they would want to use it on the one they give you.

They print you off a top-up voucher code. I imagine this can be applied to any 3 (UK) PAYG sim, however I don't think my brother has used it just yet - he's waiting for his current allocation of internet to expire.

I'm buying the phone in a few days and need advice. What is the best online retailer for buying this phone in the US? The ones I know about are: expansys, negri-electronics, ebay, amazon, and craigslist. I wanted to make sure I got the Taiwan build since a lot of people have given positive feedback on Taiwan builds. can't vouch for best. i first ordered from negri last weekend and never received a responding confirmation. i emailed and they said they had no stock and didn't know when new stock would arrive. then i cancelled and they tried to call me to say oh, heavens, they had one, but their free shipping offer did not apply to hawaii, so they would need to charge me $32 more. i said thanks but no thanks. went to expansys and ordered. order got held up a bit because i ordered some items not immediately available. it got straightened out and my order arrived within the week in great condition.
the phone from expansys comes out of taiwan. there's a rumor that the taiwan phones are not exhibiting the same build issues as those from china. i can't say my copy is perfect, because the previous android i had was not very sophisticated, and neither am i when it comes to android. but it doesn't seem to be exhibiting any serious problems . i bought an att micro-sim card off amazon and signed up for att prepaid $2/day unlimited talk/text and added a data package. seems to work in general, but i haven't used it extensively. by the way, the expansys htc came with a sim-card tray opener pin. the amazon micro-sim sold by abe 1-2-3 is a true micro-sim - does not require any cutting down.
I always find the cheapest to be ebay from Hong Kong sellers, can get for $650 AUD
I'm currently visiting Singapore and just picked one up at Sim Lim Square for $722 SGD which is about $600 AUD which in tern is about $600 US?
