is it possible to use a 3g sim in the xda 2 thank youu for any help
the sim is from 3 not from o2
Yes my XDA 2 worked here in Australia with 3 until they wrote to me to use their supplied phone
of cause if it works and it only do if the phone company dident block it like 3 did
but of cause it dont get anything 3g speed or such it will work like a normal 2g sim

Hi, will i be able to use the Three Simcard in the phone? it is a xda orbit. i am picking it up tonight and would like to know. thanks
From what I can remember, the answer is No, 3 monitor the imei's of handsets connecting to their network.
I remember this being discussed a couple of years ago.
It may work for a few weeks/months but you may receive a phonecall requesting your sim to be put in one of their handsets
3 is a 3G network which drops down to 2.5G when 3G is not available. As the Orbit is not a 3G capable phone I think it unlikely that a 3 sim will work in the Orbit.
Hi! I have the same problem con 3 italian sim. Htc p3300 didn't never work!!!
Have I a possibility that it works by some manner?

Old thread bump.
I have just tried a 3 UK sim in an Orbit - and I was able to make and receive voice calls without changing any settings. But as other posters have said, 3 take a dim view of people using their sims in non-3 branded handsets and may cut off your sim without warning.
Hi there,
sometimes my Xda loses the GSM network just fot no reasons....and does not want to go back ......and also when it works, the signal is very weak, like 3/5 and my 2 other phones with this sim card are working on 5/5. Why? Can i fix it?
Thanks
Sorry for my english, im russian
I'm having major issues with my GS2 when moving between cell sites. More often than it should it just drops the call, especially when going from WCDMA/4G to GSM/EDGE. It never hands off properly, and often times the phone will pick up a weak 4G signal, hold on to it for much longer than it should, drop all connectivity (with the circle and a slash showing up) before going back to GSM. Or it will do the same, starting off with a strong 4G signal, moving into an EDGE/GSM only area and never hand-off to the GSM cell site, what it will do is drop ALL network connectivity (circle with a slash!) then pick up the GSM network.
I know I'm not the only one with these issues. I love the phone otherwise, actual GSM reception is great - but it does NOT handle handoffs well, even when going from one 4G cell site to another. My Dell Venue Pro and other phone's don't have such a high tendency to drop calls. I'm actually about to get a BlackBerry 9900 because it has NO issues with these handovers, and seamlessly switches between WCDMA and GSM.
Try talking to T-Mobile.

no issues on my phone
i agree about talking to Tmo to report the issues on those areas
I work for Tmobile...go to a corporate store n tell them ur prob them n tell them u wanna get a new sim ...sounds like ur sim card is totally to be blamed fore this...I had that pro s wit a few customer
New sim did the trick...let me no how it works out...but I'm about 97% positive it ur sin even if u have a new 1 switch for another!

Same problems.
I'm not so sure that it is depends only with operator.
I'm leaving in Europe, but have similare problems with scrambled voice during phone calls and drops calls.
Before I used Samsung Vibrants, Captivate and Infuse. All of them works in same locations without any problems and voice quality was amazing.
I tested two different unlocked Herculeses t989, with two differnt operators and all available radio' modems for AT&T/Rogers Skyrockets and T-Mobile/Telus T-989. Both t-989 have same issues with all modems and voice quality worst compare Infuse/Captivate/Vibrant.
Both t989 runs stock rooted roms
My operator data range:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900Mhz/1800Mhz
UMTS/WCDMA/HSPA+ 2100Mhz

A sim card is not going to help. You sound like a CSR. If you can find a pattern with location a service request will need to be done, which usually leads to a trouble ticket. (Both done through tmo )
Usually i would have you do a sim swap with another phone and see if the issue follows your sim or your phone. Easiest way to find the problem .

It's not the service it's my phone. It handles WCDMA-GSM hand-off's poorly and it camps on WCDMA for too long when the signal is took weak. We need a radio update. I have the latest sim card. It also drops calls going between cells sometimes and not just WCDMA to GSM which I find to also be as a result of the radio.
only few people seems to be having this problem, like the other guy on the Wind topic
personally i've not had any of the issues mentioned, and i'm still on the original Tmo radio
If you can settle for GSM or WCDMA alone, why not force your phone on those frequencies? That way you can at least eliminate the band switching variable

Hello,
I have my S4 mini duos for now 3 weeks, and I'm experiencing a very bothering issue.
When I use the 3G of my second sim card, the maximum bandwidth is around 1Mb/s, but If I put the same sim the minute after in the first slot, I end up with a 7Mb/s speed which is almost the maximum my provider offer.
I also check with several application like network details and the connection on the second slot sims to be locked in GPRS mod while the status bar show a 'H' next to the network bar.
Is it my phone not working or the correct behaviour( in my opinion not normal at all when mediatek is able to do that for a couple of year now ).
Chears and happy new year
Yes, same here. Second sim hsdpa+ is max 1.3mbit/s.

Sir
I am a Redmi 2 user, I was using Idea 3G with my Redmi 2 with there maximum speed.
Since aircel has plans that suites my need i switched from Idea to aircel.
Now i am facing some problems with my phone, when I connect to internet its showing H+ but the maximum speed id 45 kbs.
So I contacted aircel they said me to check the Sim with another phone.
I tried Samsung S4 mini, the speed was 2.5 Mbs.
so there is no problem with aircel Sim.
And I tried Using Airtel 3G with Redmi 2 speed was 2.5mbs, so there is no problem with phone.
But when i put aircel Sim in Redmi2, the maximum speed is 45kbs.
is there a way to solve this issue?
I tried wipe Cach, and I also installed the latest version of MIUI offline (Manual installation)
Please Help me as soon as possible
Hi. I'm also using aircel (3g) sim only but I have good speed. If u says that other operators work good means this should be ur sim problem. Try to use the sim in next slot. If the problem still exists try to change the sim (buy a new one in same old number).. There r some problems which can't be rectified.. We have to find some solution by spending some bucks from our pocket.. I too have this problem with a bsnl sim.. I changed it and worked flawlessly...

Ya sure But this SIM works fine (800Kbs Download Speed) At other phone and my netsetter.
So i don't think its about the sim, may some bandwidth issue with the phone.
do you know how to change bandwidth?
