Just wondering, as I'm thinking of mounting the Exec ikn my car and it would be a nice toy to have!
Thanks in advance,

affordable is a bit vague.
All Sat Nav software is affordable by someone.
Hi, welcome to the forum!
Have a look at the following options:
Tomtom, Co-Pilot and Destinator, just make sure that the chosen works with windows mobile (WM5) and has a Bluetooth GPS receiver as that the only way to get the Exec to communicate with the GPS receiver, unlike wired versions for previous XDA models, due to the mini USB port.
If you need any more advice, drop me a line ok, good luck - around £175-199 should see you with decent software, and a BT GPS unit I reckon.

Don't do what I did and go cheap.
Bought Prymenav Navigator, and the interface sucks. It's just nasty to use.
It has a few dodgy features lacking too, but the reviews were favourable still. Too damned lenient I say. Also the guys refuse and attempt by me to contact them about an upgrade. Next time it's full Copilot Live or Tom Tom for me.
Thanks guys. I'll have a look around and see what suits my pocket. Your comments are very much appreciated.

I have bought a German program Navigon MobileNavigator|5.
I am delighted with it. Stylish interface, skins, support for TMC if you happen to have one. Used AA Navigator before and Navigon offers an "upgrade" program for just €79 for software - which I took.
Today arrived my new "ultra-stylish" Cellink BTG-7000 Bluetooth GPS unit which cost me just £60.
So you don't need to break the bank at all to become GPS enabled.
It worked perfectly on WM2003/2003SE, but I had to install it on SD card to work on WM5.0 -- the default installation has very little space left in Storage and Program Memory. Program Memory was running out, too.
I really intend to have a look at customisations aimed at increasing the available memory. I've already seen how to "unlock" some Flash memory ("Storage"), looking for more memory-saving tricks. WM2003/2003Se systems offered MUCH more memory.

Arigato gozaimasu!
I'll be in an industrial district/town called LongGang, about one-hour drive from LoHu (the train station on the Hong Kong-Shenzhen border). Will the market be anywhere near there?

from Luo hu, 10 to 15 minitues by Taxi, called "Fu Tian Distric."
Many Building and thaousands of shopes selling parts,
Oh... Fu Tian. I've heard of that place before.
Have you managed to install the new housing? Was it difficult? I heard it is not an easy job.
Seems like someone's going to make lots of money... NOT! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Original-O2-E...itemZ9733399786QQcategoryZ15039QQcmdZViewItem
That price is way too steep... I won't be surprised if he hasn't managed to sell any yet.
tyo change housing, not so easy but can do,,,,,
take time and carfully.
Someboday selling....
becouse my prices are domestic wholesaler prices.. so you can feel
reasonable or cheap/
but once they are in shops in HK,, it will be W-or Triple prices.
I ts no way....
so we must share the information to get cheap one,,,
even me in china ...
i bought some battries for my friends,, at the beggning price was RMB220/pc,
other day i found 150RMB, one more other day,,
found 125RMB/pc
china is the place like this....
work around,,or wallets will be lighter and lighter!
i am still working around to find better!
It's the same in Hong Kong: I once found a shop selling extended batteries for the Dell Axim X50v for $280, but after a 10-minute journey I found another shop selling the same batteries for HK$240. Things tend to be cheaper on weekdays in the market place as well.
Do they sell complete body-sets (with keyboard panel and so on), including instructions ?
I have a T-Mobile one, but would kill for an unbranded cover (especially a black one )
now we can found,,
1;Boday and keyboard pannel
2; 3 x parts of Hindge,,,(but some times no in market
4:LCD housing
but,,, the parts are not equal conditions.
*some Housing missing small swithes,,slider siwitches,
also difficult to find Action Buttons curently
*screw nuts which should be inlaid boday are missing,,
some of them have it,
go and vist several shops, then you can compliete
*small ruber parts such like on the bottom, are not available yet,,
but some of parts can be used from your current device.
Manual is on Dvelopers.com FTP,
Sorry for being geeky but have you seen any HTC-branded housings? It'd be pretty cool to have one.
Hello everyone, I am thinking of getting a bluetooth gps reciever. I only want it for emergencys when im snowboarding, give me a latitude and longitude so i wouldnt really need any maps. And I woudl just keep the unit in my pocket and off until i had to use it.
Has anyone used any of these devices with the htcs620 if so please let me know wich model, software and your experience.
Thanks.
I currently own the Holux M1200 that I bought online for about 70 dollars. It is very small and durable, about the size of a usb flash drive. It even has a very solid loop that could be used to tie the unit to your jacket or keychain.
The device came with a very small piece of software that gives you your long/lat. It also came with smart2go, though I couldn't get the application to install via the dvd and had to download it from their website.
You can read more about the product here.
Rebuttle
Thanks, great info i've found the Holux GPSlim 240 looks like the next version a bit slimmer for $70.00 seems worth it.
Can live search be used with it ?
Can you use bluetooth headset and have the gps connected to the phone at the same time ?
I chose the M1200 b/c it can connect to 32 satellites vs. 20 satellites with the slim 240

I had never used the mini gps program until today and I'd like to add that it does NOT work on smartphones.
Geeks.com have a bunch all about $40-$50. (The one I got was cheaper still but they don't have it any more!) They are all based on a very few chipsets, so don't worry about going with a no name brand. The key is really finding software that does what you want. If you just want to check your position then there's a few packages knocking about that will read the datastream. I don't have it with me but there was one I found that gave you all the details - VITO I think. I wouldn't use Live/G Maps though except if you stop and check. If you have them running continuous you will have an active datastream and bluetooth datastream running at the same time which is a large power drain. That's fine in a car with a charger, but with no access to power.....

Vito Smartnavigator. I would have never found this handy application if it weren't for this post. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
I can even make maps in ArcGis and import them into Vito SmartNavigator! Just what i've been looking for!
Hi Crimson Blake,
Can you give me a detailed info on your ArcGis and also vito SmartNavigator.
I want to create maps for India and use them with my P3300 phone.
Hi guys, i have 2 Blueangels, in fact orange M2000's.
Both work but the first one doesnt get a signal in the UK as it was blocked when i lost it.
The second one was the insurance replacement.
Both are good condition, by memory the newer one probly has WM6 or something installed on it, i think the older one has 2003 still. Cant remember. I can check.
I have 1 cradle between them, and 3 batteries.
I always planned on just holding on to them, but i never use them. I just cant find the time to keep up with all the individual forums for all my phones. I also have the following phones that i dont really use if anyone is interested
2 Blueangels (obviously)
1 Universal
2 Tytn
1 Trinity
1 Treo 750
1 Kaiser
1 I780
I am open to offers on all of these but the more recent ones i might not sell. Anyone wants any give me a shout.
Cheers
Rob
I'm from VietNam, How to buy ?
I will take in the usa. how much for shipping and phone ? are they unlocked? ill give 300
please email me at [email protected] if intrested.
Hi guys, thanks for the replies. The I780 and the Kaiser i may be holding on to for a bit. The others i will sell if people want them for the right money.
I would also prefer to sell the phones individually as well, sorry should have made that more clear. The blueangels could go together though as i only have one charger and such like.
Shipping abroad, hmm, that is a good question. I must confess i hadnt really thought this through. I could ship abroad but i would have thought by the time the shipping was added on then it might not be worth it.
Anyone want any of these as individual items ? especially the Blueangels, i may put some posts in the other device forums about the others as well.
I will look into shipping costs.
Hello people, iv just recently got my self a G1 to replace my Dash and would now like to ask every one some ideas what to do with it. Like many of you i have a special place in my heart for my Dash so i dont want to stick it in a drawer and forget about it, so what do you all say?
Free is best, open source is better, and no phone service is a must.
Webcam was first thought but so far iv only found one program to do that and its a pay app and the camera on the dash just isnt up to par, at least in the app i used (Webcam Plus).
how about you start porting **** from that android device onto your dash and making it work that would be a marvelous thing for you to do with your dash... orrrr you could mail it to me. and i'll mail you a 115 dollar check and we call it even i could always use a spare
gps..
video games..
Well this topic seems like a very good reason for starting a new thread....yeah....don't be afraid to read through some threads...there are plenty of dodads you can put on ur phone to make it do stuff
