OK folks, i am 14, my birthday is on october 20th and my father bought me a birthday prezz of an XDA 2, this is locked on 02, i have tried unlocking it and it said "sorry but your phone seems to be unlocked already" , so on entering a virgin mobile simcard it simply says 'please insert unlock code'.
The specifications are as follows:
ROM version: 1.60.00WWE
Radio version: 1.10.00
Protocol version: 1337.18
ExtROM version: 1.60.46
Thank You,
Sarah.

Did you try this one in here:

or

It should be working.
You need a PUK code
What ever sim card you put into your XDA like your Virgin Mobile Sim you may need your PUK CODE if you do goto www.virgin.com look for Mobile phone section, support/help page, look up your XDA 2s , maybe under PDA Phone device, you will have to enter your number , I do this on o2's website, if you cant find it, email virgin for your PUK CODE look for CONTACT US or FEEDBACK link, its cheaper than phoneing them up, or go into a Virgin Phone SHop at a virgin megastore and get your PUK CODE that way. Although getting this message 'please insert unlock code' may be something to do with unlock software which I havnt tried yet, when i put my o2 sim in it just worked so not even seen "code" input scren yet.

down load this xda2unlock.exe
put the downloaded file on you phone and run from there there is no need to go into bootloader mode
and that was it my orange card that was locked was now ok
I am on Rom 1.60.00 wwe which is dated 12/03/03 this might make a difference

Cant Unlock
Hi
I have a new XDA II - with :
Rom = 1.60.00WWE
Radio = 1.10.00
ExtROM = 1.60.50
I cant  unlock it. If I try the older Bootloader method it says that it is unlocked already. If I try the newer version it says that it succeds but the phone app automatically starts and says the the SIM card is invalid.
Some questions:
Should the Blocked Sim be in the phone at the time?
Should Flight mode be on or off when you start?
Would having a very old Vodaphone Sim card make a difference?
Thanks in advance
JB

This is not what a locked phone does. A locked phone pops up a box for you to enter the unlocking code.

Not sure as I never had a locked phone myself. I will test this.

Yes, I don't think 5 volt cards are supported. Try a SIM that is known to work in the XDA. To make sure you are solving the real problem.
Unlocking XDA II
Thanks for the response.
I have tried a Virgin (T-Mobile) card and it works fine
I have ordered a new Vodaphone SIM - My card dated back to 1998 - It was originally a Credit Card Sized one, with no pop out - so I cut it out!
XDAII is great though - we use Messenger a lot here for contacting clients, I was sitting in the sun today, replying to custards and their problems - if anyone out there hasnt got one and is thinking of it - get it now!!
JB
please upload the file again for me. the link above not working, thank you:angel:
I am trying to unlock my new Orange SPV 1000 I have used the new XDAunlock to no avail, I successfully installed the new program on the device, ran it and got the message successfull repair!! However when I tried my vodafone sim, it asked for the unlock code!! I have tried several times with the sim in and without. Does this new program not produce an unlock code?
Ideas anybody?

Same XDA II Problem
I have the same result. Just received an Orange M100 (XDAII) in UK at my office. Downloaded updated program, ran fine without any errors. Attempted to install my US T-Mobile SIM... asks for unlock code. The Orange SIM works fine. (When in US, need to use local T-Mobile SIM.)
Update program must need another update unfortunately. (Darn Orange)
Follow-up to previous post...
Forgot device details, apologies.

Are you sure it isnt asking for the sim code rather than the phone code? You say you used xdaunlock, you should be using xda2unlock.
Response
I stand corrected... I was using the correct (XDA2UNLOCK) version. I failed to type the correct version in my previous post.
Yes, I'm confident this is not a SIM unlock prompt. It clearly states that this is a Network Provider Unlock prompt.
Thanks.
unlock
i also buyd a spv m1000 in switzerland an want to try a unlock.. so friends please help this man... 8)
Having just tried the lastest version of xda2Unlock, I'm having the same problem.
I copy the xda2unlock program and run it with my ORANGE SIM installed. It says all is fine and tells me to switch flight mode on and off.
I do that then take out the battery and install my Vodafone SIM. The M1000 then starts up showing "MY Info". the signal meter shows an exclamation mark and when I tap the screen it asks me for my normal SIM PIN. I put this in and the next screen says "Service Provider is locked, Please input unlock code" and has a box and an ok button.
If I try any number, including my SIM unlock code, it comes up with a box saying "Invalid Unlock Code" and it says "You have tried -2147467258 times, please wait until timeout..."
ROM version - 1.60.00WWE
ROM date - 12/03/03
Radio version - 1.10.00
Protocol version - 1337.18
ExtROM version - 1.60.38
Model Number of m1000 - PH10A
I hope you can help me as I'd really like to get this voda SIM working in it.
Thanks in advance
---UPDATE---
P.S. - Just W4XY's post in another thread from this morning ....

Actually this is not completely true. There are two versions for unlocking an XDA 2. Unfortunately named the same (xda2unlock.exe), but they can be found in two separate threads in this subforum. Read the first post carefully. The latest version is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6963
The newer version writes a lock 00000000 to the phone and then unlocks it. However, this process is still quite secure. I have had no report of a phone not working due to unlocking. All problems were in the end related to SIM cards not working (old or blocked) or the phone itself being blocked (insurance claim). One problem that still remains is that Orange phones do not seem to unlock (but the phone remains working normally). That is being worked on.

In the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6963 a new version of xda2unlock (version 2.2) has been posted that should perform better on Orange phones.
And thanks to me for posting the Orange M1000 ROM to you in the first place )))
Just joking, it works great guys, unlocked my M1000 in a few seconds.

X01HT from softbank
Hello guys,
I have same problem with the above topics, same with my HERME200 X01HT, I already have network unlocking code, but I can not enter the code, because it says.
"You have tried 35 times, please wait until time out" however, I've been waiting for 6days ago but still can not comes out. I still can not enter the code.
What would be the solution for this????
thanks for your sharings

I called Tmo (USA) and told them that I was travelling to Canada and wanted my SIM unlock code for my Dash. I gave them my IMEI and they emailed me a 8 digit code to unlock the phone. Only problem is that I need the "foreign" SIM to initiate the code entry on the phone according to their instructions (see below). I am wondering if there is another way to do this without the "foreign" SIM because I want to unlock it prior to travelling in fear that I dont want to break/brick my Dash while travelling.
Here is their email to me:
T-Mobile Sim Unlock Request
Sim Unlock Reference: XXXXXXX
IMEI: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Unlock Code: XXXXXXXX
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your HTC device.
1. Insert the foreign SIM card
2. Power on the device and the display should read "Please input unlock code"
3. Enter the unlock code and the device should display "Phone is unlocked."
4. Allow the phone to scan the network (or manually click on the antenna icon to do this)
It is very important that the instructions and SIM unlock code are entered correctly as listed. If you receive an error message while performing the instructions do not make any further attempts to unlock the handset. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked. You will need to verify the IMEI by pressing *#06# and contact Customer Care for support.
I saw this file (DASHv2Unlock.zip) from here. Anyone know if the code I got from Tmo will work with the DASH2Unlock program?
Thanks!
well im in states and i called tmo and told them i was going to london just to get a unlock code and all i did was put my moms cingular sim in and boom unlocked just like that foreign card just means a diffrent sim like one of cingulars ask a friend for theres if they have cingular

Thanks, I try to go to a local Cingular retail store. MOst of my friends use Nextel or Sprint or Tmobile around here. Cingular has terrible coverage in Hawaii.
Sim
You shouldn't need a "foreign sim," but rather any sim that's not on your carrier, then the phone should give you the unlock code prompt. I always keep an old cingular sim around for this purpose.
^ Any SIM other than your carrier's SIM is a foreign one.
~Cheers~
Actually, to unlock the phones you do not even need a foreign sim. You can use your T-Mobile SIM. They just tell you that so you can make sure it's working

Yep, fairly easy. As soon a TMo emailed me my unlock code, I borrowed a coworker's cingular sim card and took all of 30 seconds total.

How would you enter a code otherwise? When the Cingular sim was in it, it automatically prompted me for the unlock code.
Good question
im also curios as i dont have a foreign sim handy jsut been waiting for one to come my way to unlock.
When TMo unlocks??
When you have TMo unlock the phone for you is the SIM unlocked and the CID unlocked also? Or do I have to use the website everyone has mentioned to get both things unlocked?

Hey guys,
I recently called T-Mobile and asked for an unlock code for my Dash, but when I received it I got my friends SIM card to try and it said the code was incorrect. I typed i *#06# on my phone and the IMEI matches the one I gave them, so does anyone know what the problem is? I recently installed Kavana's 6.1 ROM, so would that be a reason why? Thanks!

The 4-digit PIN code on a SIM card is something different to a SIM lock - which code are you talking about?
I'm talking about an 8-digit unlock code I got from T-Mobile. I borrowed my friend's SIM (which is a Cingular SIM) so I could test to see if the unlock code worked, but it didn't.

The unlock code sent from T-Mobile should've worked... The only thing I could recommend would be to double-check the code they sent you. Make sure it's the same one you're entering. You said that the IMEI that pulled up after entering *#06# is the same as the one you first gave them. That should eliminate the IMEI as a potential problem.
I ran into this when I unlocked mine... What I ended up doing was rebooting, entering in the code with My T-Mobile SIM in, then switching to an non T-Mobile SIM after the unlock to make sure it was unlocked.. it was.

How do you enter the unlock code while using the T-Mobile SIM??? I always knew the phone to need a SIM of a different carrier.
Yeah I wanna know that too... I really want this thing unlocked! I appreciate all the help.
I should have been more clear. Reboot the device with the other providers SIM, the simlock dialog should kickin, then before you enter in the code take that SIM out and put yours in, enter the code then switch the cards again.. Thats how I got mine to work.
I used a Nextel SIM if it matters.
I've also heard that there has been success with a program called DASHv2Unlock, it forces the device into the simunlock mode without a forgien SIM in it. I was going to hunt it down but my method ended up working in the end
I was trying to change the theme on my shadow to shadow sliding panels.zip.However was promoted to load celecmd on my storage card and run the cmd. I don't know how to proceed from there cos i am not familiar with the cmds.Pls can somebody help me with this thing by outlining the cmd on this postp.i will appreciate the efforts from some one.
Hello.
I'm from Portugal and bought an HTC 10 wich is locked to T-Mobile.
Already got unlock code for it but i insert a portuguese network sim card and i never get the message to place the unlock code.
I checked the IMEI at T-Mobile website and it shows : Your device is blocked and will not work on T-Mobile’s network.
Already unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone, thought that would be enough to overcome the T-Mobile app ( wich is to unlock the phone for the network ).
Any tips or comments on how i can solve this issue and use the phone with another sim card?
Thanks in advance
