I was playing with my PC and M2000 lastnight and started to use remote desktop software like "Netop CE" and "Pocket controller" throw WiFi. I think this is Brilliant!.
When i clicked on the camera(on the M2000), the screen on the PC goes blank until i hit record video on the M2000, then i get a slow refresh of about 1frame per 4 seconds. I think it would be SO SO good if we could connect to the phone and have a high refresh rate of live camera picures or be able to stream the live video???
hope my posts not too boring but im sure that many people could find fun and interesting things to do if we could do that  tehee
i can't believe that after all this time, no one has thought this would be cool of useful, i hope its possible. i found a way to make it a security camera:
on the phone, map a folder on your PC via WiFi and redirect you camera software to save to this folder, you can't view live pictures but you so get a nice long video of whats been going on since you left it
Remote Desktop Pocket Controller
Yes good ideas, I have been trying out Remote Desktop & Pocket Controller but Remote Desktop was only a demo version but I could see the potential, bit slow and jerky but it does work! I'd love to control Winamp through it,
I have done this using a wireless link, i'm setting up wireless to do this.
as for Pocket Controller that only controls the XDA from the PC and not the other way round. I havn't used Netop-CE yet but will have a look for it, how about a movement sensor program for the camera to take shots of movement and MMS the pictures to a second pone number or save them to disc with date time stamp. I heard Nokia have done something similar for there phones 6230.

I have looked all over the place trying to find an app that would control windows media player or winamp or something of that nature via bluetooth. All the apps i have tried dont work. Anybody seen or heard of anything of this nature ? If not is anybody feeling froggy and would like to develop such an app.Id definitely throw some money your way if you managed to get it working. Basic controls such as rewind, fast forward play pause stop volume up/down. A bonus would be to see the playlist on the phone and be able to choose any song to play (basically emulating the "jump to file" feature of winamp). If we could get this to work on a htc hero that would definitely be worth a large sum of money.
EDIT: I apologize in advance if this is the wrong section for this but i did not see an "APP Development" thread.
ummm.... Gmote2, its been around since G1 days and works great as a media player controller, as well as a trackpad and keyboard.
Is there a reason you specifically want it to be bluetooth and not wifi?

Ive tried it and you have to see the mouse to control the pc and also if you use screen capture its not very smooth or efficient.

And i want it bluetooth bcuz i dont always have my laptop with my home wifi. And i have not been able to pair ad hoc between the laptop and phone. Bluetooth is fast enough to create such an efficient app and keep it highly mobile at the same time.
So I've converted some files to mp4's, and had previous mp4 files before, but whenever it's in the webtop display, I can't mirror the image to the Laptop dock. Had the same issue with my HD TV. The screen is completely black and when I close the monitor down, the phone shows the remote (like you have when connected to a TV) and it's blocking the video (I can barely see a row of pixels moving at the bottom) which leads me to believe that the remote thing is covering up the video somehow. Is there a way to fix this?? I can't understand why they wouldn't allow you to watch your videos on a bigger screen. Is there a setting I just need to change or is this working as intended and I need to get some kind of hack for it? I just wanna be able to watch my anime I convert to mp4 on the laptop dock screen. I tried to mess with a video player through accessing my phone via webtop, but it's such a small resolution and looks terrible. Any idea's??
Yesterday I picked up a N7 with the intentions to run it as a CarPC like many others. I started playing with it last night, and immediately thought it would be neat to be able to use my phone as a remote for the tablet, just like it the remote for my car stereo works, so I can be outside of the car and still control the radio (yeah, it's an infrared remote, but it has a pretty decent range).
I started looking for something like this, but all I was finding was either VNC solutions, or using the phone like a video game controller. The VNC works...kinda, but it still seems a bit kludgy, at least with the VMLite Server/RealVNC client combo that I've been using. I'm sure I'm not the first one to think about this, but I wasn't finding it, and I suspect I just wasn't searching with the right words.
Realistically, all I'd really need is control of a couple media apps, like YouTube (I'll occasionally use it as an on-demand audio streaming type deal), Pandora/Slacker, and a media player, so I don't even really need a full screen mirroring solution, but I would like to have it show the name of the current track, or be able to select local music to play.

In my case I'm using Tasker + PushBullet to control my Nexus from my phone. On the phone I have a widget with a couple of buttons on it and when a button is pressed PushBullet sends a message to the Nexus with a single command which Tasker uses to perform an action. It was a little cumbersome at first, but now I have added many actions and I'm able to do it in no time.
Try Beyond XBMC. Plenty of remotes for it
Or you can also use ps3 remote with sixc axis app
Sent from my LG-D803 using XDA Free mobile app

I switched from the Apple TV2 that I loved so much but started to crash a lot with Kodi.
Loving the FireTV, but was going insane trying to get my airplay setup working. I use airfoil from my mac to stream spotify to 3 airplay zones. With all the FireTV apps I downloaded, there was some latency issues that would be off during every connect and reconnect. Adjusting the settings didn't matter as it would be off again the next connect.
Tried Kodi's Airplay support, and not all that bad, though no volume (didn't know when I bought it that FireTV can't adjust internal audio), and no album artwork on the screen.
Thought about it for a few days and remembered that Airfoil has a speakers app for Android phones to turn it into an Airfoil receiver. I side loaded the app and Viola, all zones play simultaneously and album art on the screen. Tried the volume up and down on my mac (master volume) and low and behold it adjusts the volume on the FireTV. So happy that I have all the functionality of my AppleTV in a much more dynamic and faster device. Thought I would post this in case it helps someone else out as I have seen a few people ask about this in other forums, but haven't come across this solution.

This is why I love XDA, splendid.
Hi there,
Is this solution still working on your side? I tried the same last night and side loaded Airfoil speakers app. This is the first time I sideloaded anything. It is perfectly in sync with my other devices as long as I use my system audio from my PC. But when I try to use Spotify as source the app on the AFTS crashes. Do I need to have other apps services installed on my fire tv stick for this to work? What versions are you using?
I use apple music on my Macbook and it works fine. I use the latest version apk from the android play store.
A friend of mine has the Galaxy S5 and he was showing me how he shares his videos wirelessly from his Smartphone to his Plasma TV. The TV has to be, easily a few years old, not sure how old it is, but he's also got a Roku 3. Basically, he hits what looks like a screen mirroring button above the video, next to the file name and the mute button and it searches for a nearby device, then the video (or I suppose pictures as well) play on the selected device.
I'd like to get that to work for my PC, through Windows 7, without having to flip to a different video input. Is this possible, and if so, how?
