Hello all, first time user here so please forgive me if I'm duplicating anyones posts.
Our company here in the UK have just started buying the T-Mobile MDAIII, I think they're great buy the battery life is appalling!
Does anyone know if there are higher capacity batteries available here in the UK, and if so where I can source them from?
Thanks,
David.

I have a xda2s (MDAIII) and i spent absolutely ages searching and asking around trying to find the same product but i've managed to find it, (just testing it out now) the stock one is a 1490 Lithium Polymer battery and this extended one i'm trying out is a 2400 Lithium Polymer battery and it is only slightly larger than the stock one and it still fits inside the cradle! It costs 30 GBP. If you want some i might get some more, let me know
go to http://www.gpsforless.co.uk
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=125267
i got 2 2400 mAh batteries for my xda iis, both $30 each which ends up being about €15 pounds each in the uk. i got them on ebay and im on my phone right now =).
I want to buy the 2400 mAh battery but I was thinking, does it fit in the original leather case that comes with the Blue Angel?

I've got no problem fitting it into the bundled case... maybe you could try?
I'll get one of those batteries when I arrive to Dubai. Going there soon. Let's hope the battery life increases a lot!
Hi,
If u are going to Dubai, better get 3300 mAh battery. In India it is available at 3300 Rs...around 80-90 USD..It is slightly bulgy..but its performance is wonderful
Wow I never knew it existed. Thanks.
www.lionbattery.com
Not sure if they ship to the UK, but it gives you an idea of what is out there..
So the 3300 mAh battery fits in the cradle AND the original leather case?
Last I heard the extended battery does fit on the cradle and the case. Oh and it's 3550 mah battery not 3300 mah (that was their older model, this is version 3)
hope this helps
Any charging problem?
Hi! I have purchased ext.battery 2400mah 3 days ago, and met some problem. I can't charge it 100% max - 79% and all my plugins don't understand that it is not its native battery - for example they say (Uptime and other meters also) that it will work for 5-6 hours. In fact it works about 15 hours and more, but I have no actual information as for my battery status.
Has anyone met this problem? And how can I solve it??
Thanks a lot...

so far so good
I purchased a 2400 mah at ebay. It came in yesterday and I had it charge overnight. It did go all the way up to 100%. I'm going to test the hell out of it by watching movies, playing mp3s, wifi, bluetooth, phone, etc.. I'll let you guys know if it's worth it or not. So far I commuted 35 minutes by train this morning and had the phone on and watched an ep of Family Guy on it. When I got to work it was at 98%. I have yet to compare it to my old battery 1490mah. I don't think that it'll be at 98% by the time I get to work. We'll see...
ive been very happy with the 2400mah battery i bought a few weeks ago...got it from here...good price too.

Great news!! The battery is awesome. All day yesterday, Xmas, I shot video, played mp3's, and used the phone. The battery was at 91% when I got home and that's after being on all day long!!

2 weeks earlier bought a 2400mah battery from them, ordered online, arrived in 2 days (on a fast delivery), I have charged it overnight, put it in XDA-IIi on 20 Dec Wednesday 9:00pm still on 51%, I am making 3-4 calls per day of approx 3-4 mins average, Battery came with the back cover because its a bit thicker than the normal 1200/1300mah battery, and it DOES NOT fit in the regular leather pouch. But overall battery is superb.

Batteries with Extanded Covers ... THEY SUCKS!
The Cover is crap!
The 1800mAh isnt easy to find ... i think its the best Batterie in the moment. If HTC make a extanded batterie kit ... buy it! I have a Startrek with new Coverer and the Quality is very high!
Do you have a link or a pic of the battery? why the extanded covers sucks can you explain that?

My friends and I are using the 1800mAh batteries from this seller http://search.stores.ebay.com.au/SO...dgetsQQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQsaselZ30323434QQsofpZ0
Comparing to my one year old 1200mAh original battery the results were obvious. I could get more than 90 hours of standby with a few mins of call each day. Something I couldn't have thought of with a PocketPC phone.
It's been about 5 months since my purchase, the battery is still good. I heard from others that non-genuine battery tend to have shortened lifespan in just a few months.
Only about 3 to 5 grams heavier and 1mm thicker (which leaves no space between the back cover and the battery) if you do notice these minute differences. It's crucial that the battery won't make your Prophet any thicker!
My only complain was, if you asked, that it took almost a week for the delivery. Otherwise I'm happy with it.

forgot to say, battery is not heating up at all - I left it on charge for 3 or 4 hours last night and nothing - however, residual charge is actually powering the PDA so there is life in there. Must be the chip that reports on battery condition and charge etc.
Also, I have tried both in 3 different PDA (m600's) and same problem. One phone has an 1800mah battery purchased from ebay and that looks exactly the same but works fine - so it's not as if the PDA can't handle non-standard size.
Hope this helps.
Hi,
I need to buy a new battery for my Universal, as the current one is getting old and does not manage a heavy workday anymore.
I have seen the ones offered at eBay and I am aware that they are not original ones.
The question I have: are they worth the 15 Euro, or should I buy an original battery for 40 Euro? Is there a way to distinguish good ones from bad ones just by looking at the pictures?
I am only interested in the 1600-1700 mA ones, as I don't want my Universal to get bigger.
Thanks!
Cheers,
vma
I bought a 4800mAh battery 3 months ago from China, and it is working very well..
Pm me if you would like to know Ebayer contact. (he should have standard batteries too)
Hi,
Thanks for the offer, but I prefer to buy from european sellers through eBay. Customs is very problematic here in Portugal and might cost more than the original product (i.e. 25 Euro just for the handling...).
I just would like to know which ebay-sold batteries with regular size would be recommended.
Cheers,
vma

How much bigger does the 4800 make the xda?
Just to let you guy's know: I bought a battery at ebay (1750 mAh) and it seems to work fine. Total cost with shipping: 23 Euro.

Hi,
The seller was "trade-shop", but they are located in Germany.
The item I purchased was like this one: 330220303130
The picture however, does not represent the actual battery I got and they advertise it as 1700mAh, while the one I got is 1750mAh,
But the point is: my Universal was not lasting a whole day (12 hours - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) anymore. It would shut off at 6 p.m. when I received a little more phone calls.
Now it lasts like 48 hours!
Cheers,
vma
i bought a 1750 mAh battery too
phone was switching off all the time etc
now lasts about 72 hours with random texting during the day
or 48 hours with random texting and calls
Maybe anybody could advice something?
Today I received at last new battery 4800 mAh which i've bought from ebay for 37$ with delivery from Hong Kong to Russia, producer Cameron Sino Technology. Well, now it is already more then 16 hours of charging without any success - red led is lighting all that time but my Qtek 9000 doesn't want to start:-( So guys maybe anybody coud advice something? And make the note for yourself about this ****ing producer of battery!!!

Here's two batteries from Mugen Powers, a 1800mAh and 3600 mAh. From my understanding, The 1800mAh will work with the original stock battery cover. And of course the 3600mAh, has the bulkier build. Here's some links for those interested.

Let us know how it works out. I'm curious if there are any heat issues associated with the larger-capacity battery.
I just bought the 1800mAh, but it will be shipped in 10 days and will take 10 more to arrive!
anybody got a 1800mah one yet? thinking of getting one but im not sure they are worth it, has anyone had a battery from these guys before?
Mugen is one of the best second party manufacturer for batteries! It's really quality, no Hongkong Crap.
Interesting, Ive always wondered about suposedly good aftermarket batteries. ....Mugen you say !
OEM batteries is the only option unless the battery is inbuilt. Why are people so gullible? The manufactures always uses the best cells for their phones as it is part of the features present, i.e. long talk/standby time.
I have a HD2 and bought two original batteries which were not from Ebay.

maybe its because the people who know they are no good are so patronising when they are saying such. Not everyone has knowledge of these things and not everyone has had experience of this before but thats no reason to talk down to them. Its logical that these batteries should be better, after all they are rated 400mah higher, if thats not the case then you cannot blame the person who buys it thinking it is.
After market batteries is not a new phenomena and people buying such batteries should have learned by others which have made those mistakes before. It does not matter if it says Mugen or whatever on the battery.
I bought a battery for SE P1 on Ebay for 3 GBP and the picture was showing the retail package. When I received the package it was a "Walkman" branded when P1 is a business phone. I filled a complaint and received my money back. I would never do it without PayPal covering the full amount. I knew it from the beginning, if it sounds to good to be true it is not.

no, but what about somebody doesnt know anything about battery tech, or somebody who simply bought their phone from and o2 shop and has never had experience of other people buying aftermarket batteries? how are they supposed to know?
i came into this thread asking questions because to me it seems a little too good too be true, i know very little about battery tech but i do know a fair bit about other areas. other people, even those on this site may not have the slightest clue other than 1800 is more than 1400 and to talk down to them because of this is very unfair.

£26+ for 400mAh more - seems a bit steep IMO.
Better to buy a second genuine BST-41 from SE - seen them for the same money all over the place:
For example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/EMARTBUY-GE...6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1274285908&sr=1-6
and

So long as it arrives with SE logo and hologram on it, it's probably fine.

Not true. The P1 battery from Ebay did have a hologram but when comparing against the original battery there was a visible difference.
Mugen 3600 mAh battery
I got my 3600mAh battery on Friday and it works great! 5% drain an hour even with heavy useage. I can go the whole day without charging and still have 30% before I go to bed, beats the OG battery which I had to charge 2 times a day which sucked...
I'm personally a bit skeptical to 3rd party batteries, but I would like to have a 3600mha battery, the added thickness is not a problem. But as far as I know there only available battery from Sony is the stock 1500mha battery?

Not for me.
My original 1500mAh battery was dead by 3.30-4pm after taking it off charge at 8.30am and that was with moderate use. Its been dead by 2pm before now.

It does work much better
Saw an eBay auction for the Mugen battery set up by "Mugen Battery".
Read the lower lines and they want to add 19% VAT after the sale is completed to all EU buyers by sending you a separate bill for the VAT (totally against eBay rules)!
What a bunch of shysters!

Hi Folks,
I recently purchased a HTC Wildfire S. I am quite disappointed by the battery performance. The dialer and android system always shows 49 % usage. Is it a bug in GB or is this normal behavior ?
I feel my battery drains out very fast in a day. I usually do a 20-30 mins of call/day. About 10-20 Mb of internet data via 2G. But at the end of the day around 8-8.30 PM my battery is almost at 25-30% or sometimes less than that. I have disabled all the vibrating notifications. Wi-Fi and bluetooth OFF, I have installed juice defender which shuts the data off when the phone is idle. Though there is some improvement after this, i still feel the battery is going down.
When googled about this, everyone had almost the same complaint. And the only suggestion was to have an extra 1500 or 1900 mAh battery. Now which is the recommended battery without making any change to the hardware etc
coz i see lot of them taking a 3500 mAh battery with extra cover and changing the contacts and all. I dont want to do all those but just to improve my battery performance. Can you help me out ?
I use this battery :
http://www.batterychampion.fr/produ...rtmentProductId/76703263/shopGroupId/95658473
I can use my device almost during 3 days without any charge : calls, sms, internet and games.
Its very large. I wanted a small phone...
The 1500mAh Replacement Battery For HTC HD7 fits the Wildfire S and gives you an approximate 20-30% boost in battery capacity.
Edit: Nvm, never bought a new battery lol
and what about 1900? any suggestion?
and btw, 1500 and 1900 battery has same sizes as the original? only the 2200 and 3500 needs a new back cover ,right?
the only extended battery worth getting is the Cameron Sino 2200mah version. Yes, it does make you phone quite a bit thicker...but it's the only one i've found that does what it's supposed to do.
I tried first a 3500mah version, but after a couple of weeks it lost it's ability to hold charge almost completely, so it was actually worse than the stock battery.
Next was the eCell 2350mah version (Gold), this didn't last much longer than the stock battery either, although it did give a litte extra, but no where near the 2x capacity of the stock, as it should have been. (i think i got like an extra hour or two oout of it)
and finally....the CS 2200mah version.....where I usually get around 8 hours tops on the stock battery (i leave things syncing every hour, quite alot of texts every day, a fair bit of internt use too), I can now use my phone for 2 full days straight, and by night-time on the second day it's finally down to around 10-15% battery left, so go mad playing games for an hour or two to really run it down to nothing, then leave it on charge over-night.
I would highly reccommend this battery, it's the only one you'll ever need, and you can actually make use of the "smart" features of your phone....I can actually use programs that need GPS without having to worry if my battery will die, leaving me stranded
it only costs around £10 on ebay.....
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150696338487
the thickness is something you get used to, and some people even find it a bit more comfortable to hold....so it's not necessarily a bad thing.
A review of the Cameron Sino.
It comes as advertised.

From my personal experiences the HD7 replacement doesn't give that boost. Maybe I got a weak unit... Soon I will order another one just to make sure.
I suggest you check this thread for comparisons between different batteries and results:

On page 3 of that thread I show my tests and comparisons of:
HTC Stock 1230mAh
HD7 1500mAh replacement
ECell Gold 2430mAh
Thanks to d33ps1x for his great public service testing several batteries and showing us what we can expect from them. If he didn't open that thread (and others) I probably wouldn't have shared my results.
I suggest everybody take a good luck before spending their cash.

I got the Cameron Sino Tech 2200 mAh about a week ago.
I cant give an accurate review of the battery but I've found that its well worth the extra size for the extended life, i get a couple of days out of it now.
Its cheap as well and now I have a spare battery so if I know i'm gonna be away from a charger I can take the original battery with me.

Like other people have seen (d33ps1x for example), the Cameron Sino 2200 mAh is the best bang for the buck. Even if it makes your phone "fat" it is a real power improvement.
The ECell Gold 2430mAh has barely 1600mAh inside so it's obviously false advertising when they say that they use Li-Polymer. I have one and ordered the second unit because even if it doesn't correspond to what's promised, it still gives a nice boost comparing to stock.
I'm also curious how different the two batteries can be. The second one will arrive this week. I will prepare it and test it as soon as I get it in the mail.
All those 1500mAh you can find on eBay are only marginal improvement when comparing to the stock battery. If they can provide 1300-1350mAh then you are a very lucky owner.
There are some amazing batteries out there, but they are too expensive.
I'm talking about Mugen Power Batteries:

I had one of their batteries on my HTC Desire and it was something out of other world. If you follow their instructions (that come with the battery) you won't regret buying one. Right now the Wildfire S 1500 mAh is out of stock and will be ready for shipment on the 17th February. This means they're being produced now and who buys them will get brand new batteries, that haven't stayed for months in a warehouse. If they were cheaper I would definitely order one. If Mugen Power announces 1500mAh, they're definitely inside.
I want to buy the Cameron sino 2200 may, but will it fit a metro pcs wildfire s???
I get one or two days? I think that's good? It's longer when wifi is off.

I got the battery, it fits, but it's BIG! I got a soft silicone case and it works. It stretches and fits fine, it protects the phone without a back cover.
The battery is a definite improvement over the original.
Ordered a 3500mAH battery case for the One X , ordered from ebay for 18 USD

Hi I'm using this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008ZUT91I/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00 for last couple of months, very similar to the one you ordered. But I must say mine looks alot better as it actually goes around the sides of the phone not just little clips, your "case" appears to be a plastic slab that the one x lies on not a case as such.
Also for the price u quoted, I would sincerely doubt thats its 3500mah these cases from china are a perfect way for the less honest to hide there second rate batteries, my case is rates 2200mah and I would guess its more like 1000. The fact it only charges the phone to 60_65% from dead is a sure sign it isn't what it claims to be. Give it afew cycles to be sure, but being 3500mah I would expect your case to charge the phone almost fully, TWICE.
Please let us know how you get on.
My case was $24 (15GBP).

Thanks for the information, and I now.. I'm expecting lower even, but If it would really be 3500mAH it would be amazing, I will do test with playing video games such as NFS and so and post results.
Cannot wait for it to arrive still, no matter how much mAH , because I simply always run out of battery.
Arrived today!
It's charging now, cannot wait to try it out tomorrow.
Photo's will be uploaded shortly

I'm really looking for your opinion about this case, or anyone alse who has it.
is it heavy? is it really thin? or makes the phone fat? how much battery life does it adds?
cheers
I bought one of those a week ago. A total farce! Provides a +/- 220 mAh (measured by BMW v2.6.7) and never charged the phone to more than 67% from dead. Also, it took 6 hours to reach that before it died
Conclusion: math & experience show this to be:
Total Capacity: 1200 mA
Output current:+/- 200 mAh
