I can't understand.
Tke Jasjar rom on the Imate club site is the one coming with the original device from factory or an updated rom?
I have installed
Radio 1.03.00
Extended rom 1.12.38
must I upgrade or just wait for the next rom?
thanks
Hi,
It´s a update. You should upgrade
regards
josef
Dont update. this is the factory version. Wait for an upgrade. Imate say in 2 weeks

Rumor has it that the Arabic version was put up first to fix specific problems but WWE users downloaded and install it by mistake. So they had to post a WWE version to allow those users to restore a WWE working version.
This version is later than my factory shipped version and now includes Telco local customisation rather than downloading a separate CAB file and running it later.
A big note is that this will Hard Reset your device loosing ALL of your software and settings. Not normally a problem but there is NO BACKUP facility for WM2005 yet! No Sprite, ActiveSync or other option.
An other big note is that there is yet LESS room left for your own programs. I have only 22MB left after the Hard Reset! Previous ROM left around 30MB for your programs. We need a utility to remove crap out of the ExtROM so we have more space for applications we actually use!
I consider Bubble Breaker, i-mate Backgamon and Solitaire a waste of precious ExtROM space - download them to External Storage SD Card as an option but don't put them where they can't be deleted or moved! :roll:
Imate support told me that there are changes only in the extended rom and radio(althought i had upgraded radio few days ago). the change in the OS Version is only to differentiate between english and arabian versions......
ok. thanks.
So not really an upgrade, just a small enhancement in last factory ship rom.
A question: pda2k needed to be connected to power supply while upgrading rom.
This is impossible with JasJar which ha only usb connection or charging connection.
So the upgrade works with the only usb connection, without power supply?
with usb20, when you connect your jasjar to your pc the battery is charging.....
Hi,
I have update , I can say that is another skype version on extended rom,it works much better
josef
can you get hold of the version number from skype?
Here is the Skype CAB file extracted from Extended_ROM:
Site won't let me upload this file! FTP process won't see upload in FTP upload directory. The extension is valid etc. Admin, Why?
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Universal/Extended ROMs/SkypeCABfile.zip
Skype CAB file as found in iMate Jasjar WWE 11353 137 10301 Extended ROM
Tweak ExtRom
When I unsinstalled the extended rom extras such as the antivirus, the backgammon, and yes the skype, or any one of them, it appeared to screw up my USB connection, has anybody else tried just uninstalling these items, they appear in the add remove programs section.
In the end I just moved the program files components to my SD card and waited to see what would happen, this method worked much better, thought I have been unable to clear out the registry and not sure what other system files are left behind.
I would also like to know how some of the extra's can be avoided so as to save extra space. Can the extended ROM be hacked and the bits extracted prior to upgrading?

I just installed windows mobile 2003SE on my xda2 replacing 2003, i had lost com ports 4 and 5 and didnt know how to get them back.
That worked great until i flashed the Ext Rom with my own medley of software. I am now getting messages saying that the sofware i am installing was written for an earlier version (2003) and may not work. Pda then locks up until i do a soft reset then starts without my stuff.
Cut a long story short i want to reinstall factory version of windows mobile 2003... Anyone know a good link to download it?
P.S Tried o2 website but no luck
CHEERS
Cunning plan!!
OK..... So all copies of wm2003 has been banished to hell !!!
Next plan !.. I have another xda2 with wm2003 installed... all i have to do is get a copy from it and install it back on my other xda2!!
Only one problem... dont know how?
The first launch rom is here
ftp://[email protected]/Himalaya/ROM1.03/O2 XDA2 1.03 first Rom/Xda_II_LaunchROM_v10311.zip
I guess its wm 2003
whats the rom no of your other xda2?
rom version 1.72.00wwe
Is this file self loading or do i need some other software... cheers!
NOTE: That file has just come through corrupt... going to try again !
Its self loading after connecting device via activesync but its a much older rom - trying to put my hands on your rom.
It looks like the 1.72 was an upgrade to an older rom
good resource is here http://www.slipstreamsolutions.co.uk/support/rom_updates.htm
You could run the rom 1.31.139 and then the 1.72 update
or backup your 2003 rom on a sd card see here http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=62
Thanks mark, been searching all night for it !

Hi pepl,
starting with a precisation: Free&Free stay for "Free from donation" and "Free for extract".
I don't want donation for my ROM, and it is a "NOT structured" ROM, so if you want, you can extract it and you'll find all package in SYS folder with dsm and rgu files, so you can use and personalize it.
A good coocker, if he wants, can rebuild olso rom structured, but this means many hours of hard work.
Why don't leave it not structured?
This is the first great BIG difference of my Arte-X.
And now the ROM:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Due to limitation number of image(4 x 3d)) , continue in next 3d.
IMPORTANT:
This rom is equiped with an "Extended Rom on SD", indispensable for complete ROM installation and for personal choiche of program you want install (yes there is a package of optional software).
So, it needs an SD on PPC with almost 40 Mb of avalaible free space.
First copy folder SDExtRom in your SD (don't change name, copy as is) and after flash.
Remember USPL unloocked.
And a raccomandation: at end, don't delete folder SDExtRom from SD; it is necessary in case of HR.
"SD Extended Rom" was my great intuition and i worked very hard to implement this system with a lot of advantge for ROM (no duplicate file, higt possibility of personalization without modify original registry.......etc.), and for user (except essential program in Rom, you can choose the way of personalize this rom with a selection of great software: TT6, Google Maps, more themes and rings, and a lot of other software included in Ext Rom on SD.
This is the 2d great difference with others Roms.
The Rom base is original WM6 from HTC and no new WM6.1: why this choice? Because:
- it's fast and stable
- has a very low drain battery
- M$ don't released an italian distribution
- many cookers make their rom "structured" and i have not time for rebuild, translate, test, retest etc. etc.....
S.O. and ALL main software are in italian language.
Some 3d part software (i did not have autorizathion from author)are not in Rom: they are in ExtRom on SD. Thanks to all author of that software (Mortscript, S2U2, PCMKeyboard, IM Selector etc. etc.).

Hi all,
New to the forum. Can anyone suggest how to change the language on an IPAQ 110 Classic to english? I have the french model.
Thanks.
Maybe with this solution here
Of course you have to change the speeches/files... ;-)
I try it tomorrow when i get my device...
Good luck. Maybe you inform me about your success?!
Greetings - Thomas
Solution found
OK. I got it. This is a re-post of what I found on another thread. Thanks. By the way!!

I renamed the folders to English and French, in my case, so that I wouldn't get confused.
Running the HPRUU Utility
Run the HPRUU utility of your device's language, the program should tell you that the SKU is correct for the language ROM you're updating. Don't hit continue yet.
Copying the HPImage.nbf In Place.
You're going to copy the HPImage.nbf file of your language to the folder of the program you're running after you hit continue. Don't worry. You have about 5 seconds to do so but have the copy dialog box in place so that you're ready. I had my Yes button close by. (See example below)
Example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
OK. Go ahead. Click the continue button and click Yes to copy the file. The update will continue with no warnings.
The device will perform a "CLEAN BOOT" in green letters and... your device will be ready to go in your language.
Any future ROM updates will still need to be run using the "native" language of the device. I tried it out.
change language ipaq 114 FR to NL or EN
didnt' work for me (ipaq 114)...no problems to do all of the things described in the post but after reboot same language (fr). Is there an other way to force the ROM image uploading? Or any other tool to change the rom image on the ipaq? HELP
regards and thx Georges
Did the same and now it is ok... I suppose I did something wrong!
thx a lot
I followed the instructions above......and with a little help from Google Translate, I was able to convert my Ipaq 110 from French to English.
The vendor, CDW Canada, did not distinguish between the French and English versions on their website or the confirmation email, so the customer service rep said I could send it back. He said on many occasions that CDW would send me an RMA number and return shipping label, but after 2 months of waiting, I gave up. I won't be dealing with CDW anymore.
Just followed the instuction from littlemonkey and it worked like a charm!
it was more easy than expected, changed my american ipaq 111 to an italian ipaq 110 !
wow! thanks again for the great information posted above!!!
Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:d:d:d:d

this one is from is from a rom from dhd194 i want to have for my ba.. tried searching the forum but i just don't know what keyword to use and ended up with nothing...anyone who knows, please help me
are you planning on using that theme with another rom?
if the rom version varies from the original rom, this theme was in, it might result in problems.
also, you might want to ask the rom creator about that, maybe he will mail it to you or tell you the name and where to download.
i was planning to use it as my wallpaper on my ba(it's wm 6.5 re7.1 y xplode).... i tried asking him(dhd194) about this.... but so far no reply.... please help me i like it sooo much ......................... anyway sorry for double posting this thread before.... it wasn't on purpose, think i wrong clicked somewhere while editing the thread....anyways, thanks in advance....
i saw that, i reported the accidental double post, to be cleaned up, but it was obvious, that wasn't a try to raise attention
i remember xplode's roms also contain that theme in the earlier builds, though he is not active in the blueangel section anymore, he might still be active on the forum, maybe he can extract that from his rom. another way to get to the wallpaper would be, to actually flash the rom and look for the png file in the windows folder and copy it to the pc. of course it would be easier, if anyone new the name or extract it, but up to now, noone seems to have it.
well, i would really like 2 upgrade to that rom(my current isn't so stable) but i cant enter the bootloader anymore as my power button is damaged and using enterbl does nothing(how come?)....
the enterbl.exe is usually a program for the device itself, it is not to be run from the pc, have you tried copying it to the device and starting it?
if that does not help, maybe mtty is a solution, but i don't really know my way around that.
but the power button is pretty important for every day use, maybe you'd want to fix that, maybe the blueangel service manual can help you there: http://www.mikechannon.net/PDF Manuals/HTC Blue Angel Service Manual.pdf

thanks......i tried putting and run the enterbl from my ba but nothing happened....you got the point there, maybe i should loook forward on fixing the power button..... my power buton was damaged since the day i get my ba(it was wm 2003 back then) but i upgraded successfully by using the enterbl, but i wonder why it wont work now......
I would like to cook a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM for Dell Axim X50 mid PPC's. How would I begin with this though? Any help appreciated.

Have you checked Aximsite? Also, you might want to start with pre-WM6.5 versions of Windows Mobile (to learn how to do it right). Trust me, trying to fit everything you want into ~30mb (the size of the storage space you have to work with to fit everything in the rom image) is hard work.
If you're not running the latest Dell WM5 stock rom (latest version for X50 series is A02), I would suggest that you download the WM5 upgrade cd (if you're running pre-WM5 Windows Mobile) using the link on my flashing sticky on Aximsite and running it, and then downloading the WM5 A02 update from Dell's support site.
