Unable to boot after upgrade to WM2005 - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

I have followed instructions on the wiki until step 11 (after upgrade rom process). Then step 11 says:
"Press Power + Softreset, and when the colored stripes (well, this is the bootscreen )shows on the screen.
If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc.
Quickly press Record+Camera before the versions appears at bottom right
OR, press Power+Softreset+Camera+Record at the same time.
Either way mentioned above should work.
You'll see three options; change the second and the third to "yes".
"
My O2XDAIIs shows 4 color stripes (blue, green, red and white) but I did press Record+Camera or Power+Softreset+Camera+Record at the same time hundreds times but nothing happen . If i press 4 buttons at the same time, my O2 shows "Serial" text. Now I stuck at here and my O2 turned to an useless box. Please help!!

Change ROM to 1.8

nemchua make sure you press and hold Softreset+Camera+Record for a few seconds rather than just press and release.

i'm stuck here as well - & ive also literally tried lots of times!! help!

This is the bootloader, when you see "serial", you should plug it on to your computer.
so you should not be here.
You should make the hard reset like in wm2003,
Now before the rom version shows up! you must press record and camera. and hold them pressed. till the screen shows up.
if you can do that within a second, (do some exercieces with it), because our hands are to lump to do this the first time.

nope - as stated - have really honestly tried this - & it doesnt happen!

got this working on my BA after all your helpful advice lol
flashed the 1.40 imate rom on first - then WM5.
I could then proceed with the old button presses.
(However, didnt really like WM5 so downgraded almost straight away )

Try to downgrade using this ROM file:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Downgrade_WM5
then upgrade again. worked for me. had the same prob.

P3300 resalvaging

Hi Everyone.
I resently got my best friends P3300 because he really messed it up and would not even boot up!
I got the phone to boot up, but every other application is dead, it wont even make a phone call or even connect to the PC with a usb cable.
The Cell phone shops say they cant fix it and is impossible to fix!
If any one could help me, it would be so apperiated!
try a hard reset to start.
Boot up the phone, when this is done, press red and green. Keep theme pressed and use the stylet to press the reset button (don't release red and green), once the screen changes, release the reset button (keep red and green pressed) you will get a prompt screen.
If I recall well, release the red and green and press green.
This will bring back factory settings.
edit:thanks Zecanilis I sold mine 4 months ago so...
as he shows don't press red and green but the 2 soft buttons.

WM6.5 upgrade help!

So I am working with Spaatie on upgrading my iPaq hx2495b. We have encountered a problem that he has never seen before. When I press:
Contacts + iTask + reset (with sylus), the screen will fade out the windows screen towards white, but continue till black (but lit). It never goes all white for but a split second.
I hit calender, but it wont connect at all, and his ROM wont find my iPaq (error 503: activesync error).
So, is there something I am missing? I have tried just tapping everything, holding down for 3 to 5 seconds, holding down for 60 seconds, but I get the exact end results each time.
I have also performed a hard reset to remove any added programs, still getting the same results. So, any help would be appreciated!

Htc touch diamond doing strange, please help !

Hi Lads,
My HTC touch diamond is doing strange, one day I woke up and suddenly it gave me a Red,Green,Blue,White screen. As I understood it's called bootlloader or something like that.
I tried reset+volumebutton after that it is starting normal and Ive got my phone back, but if I turn my phone back off its gaving me the terrible Red, Green, Blue, White screen back.
Ive tried to do a hard reset ( reset button + volume + round button) but then I have to press the volume button again to accept, but it isnt doing anything then.
Ive looked for some solutions but everything is chinese for me.
I just want my phone back to normal and I hope I dont have to loose all my files.
Can anyone help ?
I posted this in the question thread but some guy told me to post here.
Some other guy told me to reinstall my ROm but I have NO CLUE at all what I should do and what ROM is.
I didn't thought it would be such a big problem because I can still start my phone, it just gives me that ****ing Red, Green, Blue White screen and it says : serial at the bottom if I press Reset + volume down it starts as normal, but if I start it again I got that screen back.
Can anyone help me, sorry if there is already a solution be discussed on this forum, I didn't found it.
Please note that I am a dummie at this point.
Thanks

after you get a hardspl " see in athachament " , remove the batery Then put the batery, after that press the Power button + volume down and you enter the boot loader menu, after that install ROM of your choice
Good Luck, Marius.
I just updated my ROM I guess ? or what is it ... I pressed update and now I got SPL-1.40.OliNex.
But I still get the screen, can anyone tell me which rom I should install now and where I can find it ?
I want the standard ROM back like I bought my diamond.
EDIT ive installed ROM that I downloaded at the HTC website an update. Ive installed it but it is still not fixed when I star my phone I still get bootloader.
Back to the ROM then : if I start it it get struck when I have to Line out my stylus or how do you call it in english, it keeps asking again it always starts again.
CAN ANYONE HELP ^^? I am despered
Must be a solution ....
I had the same problem before, my Htc Diamond always goes into bootloader mode, the problem is that the volume down button is stuck from the tack button itself not the outside part of the button, on my diamond there was moisture in between the tack button contacts, all I had to do was replaced the button and everything works as it were brand new.
Should I buy new ones and where can I buy it ? How should U put thhem in.
I pulled out the old buttons, let it rest and after a few hours I put them back but its still the same :S. How have you fixed it ?
The button that I was talking about is inside the the outer physical button, its a tiny circular tack button you have to disassemble the other half of the Diamond to get into it and do some soldering on the button's board but don't do this yet.
I suggest try to do a soft reset on the phone, then as soon as you release the reset button hold down the volume up key to see if it boots into winmo " that's what I was doing to my diamond before just to get into winmo and not on boot loader or the tri color", if your phone boots into winmo without any problem while pressing the volume up key then its definitely the volume down button is having problems. and also before, does your diamond most of the time gets a little bit warm to the touch? even for a short phone calls? that was the first symptoms i had on my diamond before the actual key is messin' up
the tack button i got from another phone with the same size of button and had to solder it on the volume assy. pcb.
your problem is not a software issue but a hardware Malfunction. (majority of the people here are experts on software but I myself is the opposite)

[Q] Need Help in Laymen's Terms...Tilt 2 Stuck on Red, Green, Blue, and White Screen.

I have a HTC Tilt 2... I have been having a ton of problems with this phone but when it really freaks out, I usually take the battery out, let it sit a few days and then it starts working again. My phone started doing some funny things today so I restarted it as usual, it freezes and I remove the battery. When I turned it back on I got a red, green, blue and white screen with text:
RHOD300 32M MI-BC
SPL-0.87.0000
MicroP(LED) 0x0A
MicroP(KEY) 0x04
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
TP MFG DATA
498, 526 792,855
795,211 214,211
223,845 Calibrated
This has never happened before.
This RGB&W screen used to say serial when it first happend a few hours ago but then I installed ActiveSync and plugged it into PC, now says USB.
ActiveSync won't recognize my device, it does appear in My Computer.
I tried following directions in another forum to turn the device off then hold the pickup/hangup/power button at the same time...a different screen appeared than the forum directed, a gray screen with "Trigger Ramdump Mode"...then I couldn't do anything.
I can restart it back into the tri-color screen...
I need help in laymen's terms. I've never tried to change anything about the phone's operating system, I've never done an update or anything, I do not have the Tilt2 CD.
Right now I have my SIM card and my SanDisk card removed, I was afraid it could get erased when I tried the pickup/hangup/power button trick.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!
This screen is called the bootloader. Its used by technicians (or more advanced users) to load the OS or "ROM" onto the phone. It may be stuck in bootloader because some of the OS files are damaged or missing, and the OS is not booting up. Or possibly even a hardware failure.
Pulling the battery may/may not be the culprit. I've read someone on here mention that pulling the battery can corrupt files on the phone. If the phone is lagging, frozen, then pulling the battery is not the correct way to restart the phone. The correct method of restarting the phone by soft reset is done by sticking the stylus into the small red hole/button on the side of the phone, while the batter cover is off:
http://www.hardreset.eu/htc_touch_pro_2_rhodium_hard_reset_soft_reset_en.html
Pulling the battery is only a method of last resort, as the soft reset button will work in almost all cases.
Hard reset by holding TALK, END and POWER is probably not going to work. It requires the OS to be working, and you are not even getting to the point that the OS is booting.
Its supposed to say "USB" when the phone is connected to your PC via the USB cable. If I remember properly, it will say "Serial" in bootloader for a second when you plug the phone to USB, and switch to saying "USB" after that. USB is a form of serial connection, after all (USB = Universal Serial Bus). As long as it says "USB", you are in somewhat good shape, since it SHOULD allow you to try the following.
Try downloading the latest ROM from HTC. This is actually a newer version than the ROM that was originally on your phone, but still "official" ATT software. And by most accounts, better than the old ROM. Since its official software, installing this will not endanger any warranty you may still have on the phone.
Its the first file on the following page ("ROM Update"):
http://www.htc.com/us/support/tilt-2-att/downloads/
With your phone connected to your PC by USB, run the .exe ROM update file and follow the instructions that come up on your PC screen. It should work. Try it and let us know.
Bear in mind, you will lose any personal data you have on the phone (contacts, texts, emails, etc). But you've probably already lost those.
Its possible there is some other way out of it, I certainly don't know all the tricks. But in searching around this site, being stuck in bootloader seems to require flashing a new ROM to get out of it. And it seems that you are prepared to lose your personal data, based on the fact that you were already trying to hard reset (the TALK, END, and POWER button process) which also dumps all your data. And flashing the official ROM is really pretty easy to accomplish. Just a pain that you have to re-setup the phone again, since it will basically be returned to factory condition (but in this case, a slightly newer version of the OS).
The SAME thing happened to My HTC Tilt 2 an Hour ago (1/13/2010 4:46pm)
The same exact thing occurred to my HTC Tilt 2 today. It is stuck on the red green, blue and white screen with the same yellow 'config' type message . The white bottom strip has the black letters "serial" typed in.
My problem also, is that the phone stays "on" until i pull the battery out. The moment i place the battery back in the phone, the keys stay lit up instantly and the screen is black. When pressing the power button, then i get the same red, green, blue and white screen.
Ive tried holding the talk/end/power buttons all at the same time, it doesnt make a difference. So i cant get to the step where you press the "volume up" key so to initiate the master reset.
Ihad no idea the HTC Tilt2 would just fry like this. I had no additional apps that were unusual to the norm, i even had more free space than used on the set. its not like the phone was over loaded.
Hmmmmm.... help!!!
Re-read above about "soft-reset" and you might want to try reflash your phone.

Read my post above. Your OS is missing or damaged, and you need to reflash (re-install) it.
Master reset re-loads the OS from the ROM area of your memory. The ROM is damaged, so their is nothing to reload. That's why its stuck in bootloader (tri-color screen).

Today, i stuck the battery in the phone (Tilt2) pressed the hard reset keys. THIS time it allowed the volume-UP key to finally kick in the reset to default cycle. I got the phone working again and have restored my last backup So, I havent lost anything.
The only problem now i am noticing is the light on the keyboard never goes off. Even when I power the phone down, "the keyboard stays lit".. I am having to remove the battery just to keep it from draining when the phone is not in use.hmmm. is there a regEdit key I can modify that may turn off the keys? id rather have no light at all over no battery juice. If i can edit the key to turn off the backlight on the keyboard permanantly , this will be a temp fix for me until i get a new phone.
as anyone ever experienced this?

Well, today 1/18/2011: the above issue seem to have vanished altogether. Very good. I did nothing but what i was resolved to do until I buy a new phone (take the battery out so to completely power down the phone and lights).
Today, my ole third hand decided to work like normal! Yay!. All of a sudden it rebooted, and now the keyboard backlight turns off when the keypad is closed and you can see it light up when extended. and most importantly: the back lighty for the keypad goes "off" when the phone is powerd down. go figure this one.
I am glad its working like normal now, but i know its time to get a new phone. These are just symptoms of the "big-crash" soon to come. I am backing up every day.
For now, very very glad my phone is back to "normal"

HTC not booting!

Hi All
I bought an HTC One V second hand last week and it was running fine up until yesterday. I bought a new Micro SD 32gb card and it seemed ok. I tried to download a map for skobbler (legally) but the thing kept stalling and slowing down. I had the no sim sign a couple of times as well as a disk type sign that I can't find in the HTC One V manual. Anyway, then I decided to turn off the device and take out the sd card. Booted but kinda slow. I finished with trying to boot the device with neither a sim nor micro sd inserted and the device wont boot properly.
I can charge, the orange light comes on and the yellow led was lit this morning to signify that it's fully recharged etc. When I connect the device to my PC there are two drives that appear on My computer but I can't access them.
I've tried the hard reset, holding down volume and power button but all I get is the three logos flashing at the bottom of the handset. They flash maybe 14 times then nothing. Once I let go of the buttons I get the the white screen 'HTC quietly brilliant' then nothing but black screen. It's weird because you can kind of see that the screen is on but it's black.
I will add that swiftkey was installed by a friend of mine and I didn't pay for it. The rest of the apps were purchased or free.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is my first smartphone!

Is your one v rooted...?? Try getting into bootloader mode (power button + volume down key, long press both the keys simultaneously for at least 10 seconds and you should be in the bootloader mode) after that perform a factory reset from there ..i think it will fix your problem ..+ u should not use 32gb SD card on a single core device ..it will make one v really slow..
Good luck ...
EDIT-
Have sent you a message on xda check your messages
hmm i used a 32gb memory card
do what Pranav says
As far as I know it's not rooted - however I bought it 2nd hand. I've tried the volume and power button together but it just vibrates, goes to the white screen 'htc quietly brilliant' and then permanent black screen.
This sounds sort of like a brick....

1. Turn off your device as u do.
2. Then press volume down.
3. After pressing volume down press power key. Don't release volume down.
4. Don't release any key unless and until u go to hboot screen.
5. From that screen reset your phone.
Follow step 2,3 and 4 properly. Cause it wont go into hboot unless u do it properly.

Thanks guys, I finally managed to reset the device. Problem was it was really turning off - kept restarting so I had to press the buttons to restart and then press again before the device tried to boot. Appreciate the help.
