WM5 Upgrade without ActiveSync 4.0? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Is this possible because I am not going to install service pack 2 for Microsoft Windows XP, which is required to install ActiveSync 4.0, so can you install Windows Mobile 2005 on a blueangel w/ activesync 3.8 or whatever? :-\ anyone expierement with this yet?

I tried it and it won't work
WM5.0 contains a new ActiveSync version which requires AS 4.x installed on the connected computer.
Anyway, SP2 is important. Small green men will come and eat your PC if you don't install it  hehe

Do you happen to have Outlook 2003 running. ActiveSync 4.0 is still beta and I haven't seen anyone who got it to work with Outlook 2003 yet. Outlook 2002 (XP) is no problem.

Windows 2003 server + BA on WM 5.0 = ???

Hello all, I have Windows 2003 server on my PC, and BA with WM 5.0, also ActiveSync 4.0, but when I put my device in cradle, WIN 2003 server tells me
"
Found new hardware

Help me, where i can download driver?
That's what WinXP says to, and then it starts working. It should work on 2K3 as well since the driver comes from AS (as far as I know). Do you have the service pack 1 and all updates on your server? That may be the first place to start.

Vista : Impossible Upgrade of Windows mobile devices

It seems that it is impossible to upgrade our actual Windows mobile devices on the Vista system.
Even if PDA manufacturers will propose new solutions/tools for the new devices, We should return to Win XP for our old PDA's upgrade.

Me too. I used a previous version of Tai_SW's ROM and it synced without problems, but I cannot get the recent ones to communicate properly with Vista. I am afraid I have had to abandon this ROM.

You try to search for Windows Mobile Center 6.1, then install on Vista. Should work properly.
