Hi
Is there a way to use then XDA wired headset to activate Micrsoft Voice Command.
regards
Dhruv
Yeh, this would be really handy. Its a pain in the arse to have to turn the thing on to switch song.
I'm a bit miffed that on Media Player 10, they've remved the button mapping feature on the external buttons so u can still mash them in your pocket. The only program that is disabled when the screen is off in media player is Voice Command!!! The only one I'd want to use!!

Hi All,
No, not the basic question with the A2DP-answer, just something deeper.
Is it possible to stream music to a BT Headset which has no A2DP?
I use the newest and best LVSW-ROM. Wow, that one is great!!!
I vaguely recall a patch someplace that routed all sound to bluetooth... but I don't know if that would include MP3 sound.

Search for bluetooth re-direct and perhaps mortscript. There is a script that allows you to map a button to toggle all sounds to be sent out to a bluetooth headset. You toggle the sound, then when you press the headset's call button the sounds come to it, press again and the sounds go back to the phone. When re-directed, voice dialing is suspended/not functional.
You want this one

Once you download and install Mortscript - download this script to map a button.
Thanks guys
Yeah, it's working.
Now I can use it with my carkit. It does not support A2DP.
Today, driving at home, I was enjoing listening (and watching with one eye) the news and other TV!!!
THANKS

Well I got this to work finally. Not sure if you guys really care lol, but i thought I'd share anyways.
I noticed that when I had my bluetooth headset on and connected with my cav (for regular conversations etc.) if I pressed the action button on my headset it would bring up the voice command / voice tags feature (same thing as the button on the left of the cavalier under the micro sd slot), but I noticed that it would also play whatever music I had playing on my cav, ON THE HEADSET, but only for like 10 seconds.
With a little research I found the registry keys that do it, and this what I changed them to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"LaunchApEnable"=dWord:0 (instead of 1) - this allowed for disabling the voice tags/ voice command when you press the action button on the headset (you can still activate it by pressing the button on the side of the cav under the sd slot)
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dWord:18000 (instead of 10) - this allowed for 5 hours of music play when you press the action button on the headset.
So do those changes to the registry, then,
Turn on bluetooth and phone, pair them
press the action button on the headset
Start windows media player or whatever you use, and ENJOY ;-)
Oh and P.S. I'm not responsible if you mess up or brick your device in anyway - but this worked for me ;-)

Hi everyone,
i just bought a new bluetooth interphone (with a2dp functionalities) to use with my motorcycle.
I googled and searched in the forum but i didn't find any answer to my needs.
When i press the button it starts the voice command app (wich is fine for me!)
When i long-press the headset button it starts a2dp connection with my HTC Touch HD and launches Media Player.
Since i "hate" Windows Media Player i would like that, when i long press the button, it starts the a2dp connection but launching S2P instead of WMP...
is it possible?
any idea?
Thank you all.

Hi guys, I've searched everywhere I know and found apps like JAYS headset control which has given me volume control and the like on this one button headset but coming from the iphone world back to android I find it extremely frustrating that I can't configure a long press on the wired headset to open up voice dialer or even better Vlingo. I'm on 4.02 stock. I live in China and ride a scooter most places and constantly have the headset on. Bluetooth is not an option here because of the noise. So, is there an app I am not seeing that gives me full headset control and configuration?
Thanks!
OK, have progress, after posting this question I found an app that works! It's called Headset Button Controller, there is a trial version and it successfully starts Vlingo and tells you the time in any number of configurable button presses. Now there is nothing I did on my iPhone 4 that I'm not doing better on my GN...

Am back to having an android phone (rooted Z3 compact) after many years of iphones through work. Am having a shortcoming with bluetooth which is very frustrating. My cars hands free is ford sync from 2009. It does not allow you to launch an assistant on the phone with any media button. You can only use this syncs internal assistant.
On the iphone I could hold the home button to launch siri who would trigger the bluetooth and interupt whatever was playing to prompt me and listen to me using the vehicle mic. It seems that with android to hear these promps from google now or any other assistants that I have to switch my stereos source to bluetooth streaming mode which is annoying as I prefer to listen to music off a usb drive not my phone.
Is there any work arounds or apps that will route these assistant prompts through the hands free like siri does? It's like a virtual phone call siri uses to trigger the handsfree. Ive been searching like crazy for the last week and have tried so many assistants and other tools already with no success in replacing siri.
Thanks kindly for any guidance!
Ive tried audioBT but unfortunately doesn't seem to work well with my phone and only works occasionally right after connecting to car. Does anyone know any similar apps I should try or any assistant apps that will make the fake call to the handsfree so it's voice prompts play over car speakers?
Im using one of the mono audio apps but its all or nothing with it. and not so handsfree to control it.
