Hi..
some of my contacts are very long. so, in phone i see some of name.
is there a way to change the size of font, to make it smaller?.
thanks in advance...
It might already be set to the smallest size.
Start, Settings, System, Screen on the bottom is a Tab for Text Size
but the phone font did not change...
everything can be fixed
it will be my pleasure to help u...
Almatrodi,
He only thing you can do since it maybe the smallest font is to change the setting on your contact list. Better for you to open up Contacts, go to Tools and then Options. After this, put a check mark on view names only. I had the same problem with Arab Names because they are so long and so many. This is the only way I got through it.
Mvmajorem..
thank you for that..
But i am not talking about showing the contacts. i have Pocket Informat instead.
the problem is in phone window. i want to change the font size of it.

could you please post a screen shot, where exactly would you like to get bigger font??

You need to be running WM2003SE to get the font size option, this is not available on non SE versions.

TROUBLE WITH SMS FONT SIZE
Do wm2003se rom really has facility/menu to change the font size of sms comming..? The big problem of me is strugling with my eyes every recieve sms coz of too small font size. My eyes get sick..!. I have tried tweaks2ks software but the software just can enlarge the font of sms that still inbox. After tapped/opened the font go back to small again. Visual lT zoom can help..but not really...
I hope WM2003 SE can solve the problem...!!
thanx..for all
Specifically, the email and SMS inbox?
Its huge, and a smaller font size would allow more of the header to display....
There's a reg entry in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox that looks like the right thing and place, but it doesn't change anything when altered.

I know this would work at least for email (haven't checked with SMS).
The quickest way to change font size is:
On your TF3D slider go to Mail view>
If you already have an email envelope on the screen, just Click to open it
(if not, Click any email account icon & open an email) you should be reading the email now>
Click Menu (bottom right of screen)>
At the bottom of the pop-up menu, click the 'down' arrow to get more features>
Click View> Click Text Size>
Adjust to whatever size is comfortable for your eyes/screen.
Choice is Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller & Smallest.
I noticed that changing the size in one email account makes it change the font size
across all email accounts so one does not need to repeat the steps for each
individual email id on the phone.
HTH.
That changes the text, but not the header/top level display. I'm trying to change the latter.... without success....
I haven't seen any way of achieving that for headers only- on my TP2, or for that matter,
any default email application on a phone yet, if I remember correctly.
I'm guessing I must be misunderstanding your question, as the answer "Settings => Screen => Text size" seem to obvious?
Not as obvious as you might have thought! I put it down to being tired, but I was searching for a "display" setting. "Screen" just didn't jump out at me!
I don't know about Genesis3, but this was exactly what I needed!
Thanks,
Ed
Hi,
Was wondering is the standard froyo contacts doesn't list all the alphabetical letters on the right hand side? From all the froyo release so far I see the right side list missing letters : B, E,H, K, N, Q,T,W
Can we someone enable these characters again? I can live without these characters but it's just annoying...
Having the same issue here too...
And pressing the back softkey after playing a song in Music Player also causes some letters to disappear.
same issue in my sgs...strange
Yes, mine too (JPO).
The letters missing: G, H, O P
Wow, I got JPO as well..... hmmm seems the letters appears based on something. I did remember awhile ago, some letters start appearing.
It can't be by contacts, cos I got google contacts that have "b" in it but it still doesn't show the letter.
i flashed from jm1 to jpa. maybe this is the problem?
lost: GHOPX
for me it seems that if a letter has little contacts it doesnt show, and the next letter after it also dissapears..
any1 can confirm?
It's a feature. It's meant to enable users to quickly browse through their contacts. Yes, it sounds rather strange but what they intended was that you don't waste your time trying to get the the correct letter (particularly those with larger fingers) but rather in an approximate area in which you can therefore thumb up or down to the right contact.
In some ways it works, in other ways it can be annoying.
It's because of size of the fonts and the size of the top search box. There is no space for all the letters to be shown. Set lcd density to 200 and you'll see the magic.
For set lcd density to 200 have you used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=762070

where i can change this value?
You can use that app or you can change it manually by changing build.prop ro.sf.lcd_density setting to 200. Be careful with this because TW doesn't work with setting below 200. Make backup first an enable debugging so you can revert through the adb. Read all about it first in the forums!!!
yikes lcd density at 200 makes everything looks aweful......is there any other way to get it to show all the alphabet just like in eclair?
thats really strange, didnt notice though.
although it can be shown by changing the lcd density to 200, but all other application becomes not full screen, it is not the perfect solution, someone please kindly make a study on this issue, it seems caused by the inproper layout parameter of contacts resource.
I guess eclair didnt have the edit box for "search" taking up space....now in froyo with the new search box, theres lesser room!
very annoying really though Don't want to change the LCD density as it screws up other apps.

You can fix the other apps with spareparts app from the market. Compatibility mode option should be unchecked.
Tw can be replaced with the adw or launcher pro. The dialer and calculator are not in full screen view only.
Like I said , read all about it in the forums.
I personaly like the lcd tweak very much because of a larger resolution effect. You get more space on the display for icons and widgets and you can see more stuff in apps without scrolling.

You can change the text size within your SMS messages by sliding the zoom bar under the screen. Just slide it to the right and all texdt will increase in size.

Hi, I just bought the htc one X today, I had an Evo 3d and I thought the bigger screen size will help but it didn't. the problem is when somebody calls, and if his name is not in my phone book, the calling phone number is very small that I cannot read it clearly. Is there any way to increase the font size of the calling phone number. I tried to increase the font in the settings but it has no effect of the caller numbers.
i don't know how to do what you want. but have you tried downloading an app that will read out the phone number when someone calls? there are some that also read out text messages.
the settings have no effect on call id.
but, if you download a app in market, who changes the font to a greater then on the phone - it will done for you.

You need root, and be careful, because it can lead to serious issues which require reloading your ROM, but you could use a font changing program like Font Changer (aptly named).
Or, try another Dailer app, or alternative caller ID:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adaffix.cia.glb.android&hl=en
Maybe one of these allows you to change the font size?
thank you
thank you all for your help. I will try your suggestions one at a time till I resolve the problem.

If you go the font changing route, the app's advanced settings allow you to change individual fonts, but I'm not so sure about the sizes etc. Also, I noticed selecting a font that doesn't support bold, for a bold font seems to create problems (unbootable roms!) so make a solid nandroid backup first, that way it's easy to restore and try again if there's a problem.
You might as well try to caller ID apps first as they're just install and check
