Hiya guys,
This has got to be the coolest forum I have seen in a long while!
I've got HP iPAQ and I was wondering if any of the tools (mkrom/dumprom/romkitchen) described here can be used to customize its ROM image.
I've been developing for x86 platform using VS6 and VS.NET and just recently started getting into linux. Haven't got a chance to write anything for Pocket PC, this is my first project
The iPAQ runs WM2003SE, so I figured I should be able to do some of the tricks I found here. :?
If anyone has any pointers, please hit me up.
Thankxs,
Reil,
for real
PS. If anyone's got links to some *alive* linux forums, please let me know as well...

Whoohaa,
Tha-a-a-nks, cruisin-thru.
Still, if anyone knows about mkrom, please advise.
Reil
This might be helpful for rom hacking and linux.

not YET.
I'd suggest trying wisbar advance with a linux theme, or simpleOS.
I'm working on a linux port, but my advanced get halted quite quickly, I'm going to try to see if anyone else is/was working on it, maybe I can find where i'm screwing up.
So, if anyone has/is, feel free to share

Hello everyone and thanks for giving me your attention. I've been searching google, yahoo, news groups and I have yet to find someone that has been able to cook a new rom for the Q9h. Its a good phone for everything that I do. However I would like it to do more perhaps to upgrade it to 6.1 it comes with 6.0.
I'm a data center engineer and while this is a mobile forum if you need help with any server hardware questions I could answer them for you.
Thank you, Jason
Hello, I'm in need of someones help. I'm new to this forum but have dabbled in Pda's since CE. Here is my problem. I have a .pbf file from my HX4700 that as I've found will not open on anything other than an HX4700 running WM2003. I've gone as far as contacting Sprite Software and found that out. Now, here is my question. Is there anyone out there still running the older version (2003/2003se) that could help me get my contacts back? This is very important to me since the PDA was destroyed in a car wreck and everyone I know is in the contact list from the last ten years. So, I did save the .pbf file on a hard drive prior to that. This is what I'm thinking. I read a thread somewhere that one guy sent his .pbf file to another with a like PDA and then he restored it to the unit and then... well will it copy and past into a pocket excel document or something? Shot in the dark here. What do you think?
I now have the AT&T Tilt and love its functionality. I had to get the ROM update and some newer software to make it a sweet piece though.
Thanks in advance to all.
I"m new at this so i hope i will be shown some leniency if i say something wrong. From what i understand WM6.1 for windows mobile standard should have remote desktop access available to it. Can anyone verify this? and also has anyone used it ? Secondly is it possible to use port over only that functionality from the WM6.1 Excalibur for example for use with the cavalier? I've seen a cab floating around in the forums but this is the touchscreen implementation of it and if its possible to port the WM6.1 standard functionality that would work great, i hope. Hope to hear back from you experts with thoughts on this. Thank you.
HI EVERYONE.
In case anyone of you had been looking for it already, i just found a post that actually had the file that i want. Please refer below. It installed fine on my cavalier and i'll test it out and let everyone know how it goes. Thank you and i apologize for the false post.

Hello all
Has anyone written an easy to use guide on how to create/customize your own tf3d including what software is needed and a straight forward link to that software. I have been around this site trying to find a guide for so long now I’m getting dizzy. I have a few ideas that I would like to try out.
Many Thanks Jez
