SPV M2000 - Newbie on board - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi guys,
Please can someone tell me what there opinion is with regard to the SPV M2000, I am thinking about using one for business, also does anyone know how large a memory I can updrade this to and how much that might cost me in the UK.
I am also wondering if I can use my UK Vodafone simcard in it and would I have to unblock the SPV M2000 (Orange!) so I can use it with my Vodafone card? If so what is the best way to go about this.
Totally lost here but a friend is going to give me one of these machines, so ti would be good if I can utilise it as I am quite skinto......lol
Thanks for your help in advance.
Cheers,
Resampler.

it have 128MB you cant upgrade the main memory but you can
add the storage memory using a SD card

Use the search link at the top of the page. It's been mentioned many many times before.
Or if you prefer the old manual way look in the Alpine section.

Unlocking and changing the language on a Swiss Orange German M2000

Hi
I am about to buy a New Orange German SPV M2000 from a Orange shop in Switzerland which is simlocked to use in Switzerland at a very good price.
I would like to know if it is possible to change the language with a rom upgrade and also if I unlock the phone I can use the preconfigured email profiles on a different simcard.I intend to use a English Vodafone and a Danish TDC simcard with the phone.
I would be grateful for as much info as possible because I know very little about this mobile.
I also want to be sure that I can use the phone for what I need it for before I finally purchase the phone.
Regards Brian
So difficult just to give a little help

Hi again
Come on someone just give a little help.
I asked a simple question about unlocking and changing the language on a SPV M2000.
I do not think it is rocket science what is involved so a little advice would be helpful. I am sure you would expect the same.

Can someone please tell which rom to use, which one is the original official rom, i am new to this so any help would be much appreciated. Also is there a spv website or who is it that actually manufactures them. Thanks in advance
There are many roms available here...they are all on the ftp site.
Please go here and read as much as u can before attempting to upgrade and make sure u have a recent backup of your data on your spv m2000.

I use various SIM cards in my orange SPV M2000, and haven't seen any "orange crap" in mine...
The only remaining orange item is the logo on the cover

Can anyone help me??

Hi
I have an O2 Exec on contract. This has a few problems and my Dad has just given me his QTEK 9000 (same model) but his is on contract with 3. WHat I'm wanting to do is to use his machine but with my sim card in it as his machine is hardly used and in much better condition. When I changed over the sim card, the QTEK is asking me for a unlocking code. Now I'm not wanting to do anything illegal!! I just want to use his machine instead of mine. If I can't then I'll live with mine but how can I go about unlocking it? And why does it need unlocking?
Hope someone can help.
Thanks
David
It says that 'Network is locked'
Does that mean that my O2 network is locked?? I'm confused??
is that an HTC universal?
cos there is this, on the wiki...

Thanks!!
However, the buzz link does not work and I'm guessing I need it for the .exe files. Any other links?

xda ignito flashing

Hi i am new to this so im after some advice, any help is most appreciated! i have just been given an xda ignito which seems to be sim free i have a 3 sim working in it but for some reason all the phones functions work except for the normal internet,wi-fi works fine! does anyone know why this is? in the options data connectivity is very dull and unable to access it at all.i am very interested in removing all the o2 stuff from the phone first though i think from what i have read i need to flash the phone so any help on doing this with a proper unbranded rom would be handy?
Hi
If you are going to use three sim card then I think you need to look into Touch Diamond CDMA [correct me ppl if I am wrong], otherwise if using GSM sim card like O2 then this is the correct place.
I had the same question before, have a look here.
But be careful and read --> A L L <-- the stickies before doing any thing that might brick your phone.
Good luck
I have an Orange branded Diamond and an O2 branded diamond, The O2 one is known as a XDA Ignito.
Same phone different backings to them... so its MDA
