Hello everyone, im a long time reader but i havent really posted much. I used to own the Tmobile MDA and i recently got rid of it. Now i have the Tmobile Dash and i have a few questions and issues with it im hoping you can help me on.
When i plug my phone in thru USB, like at work and home, i dont recieve any MMS messages...why is that? I have my phone settings according to Tmobiles website for MMS.
Last question, is it possible to send SMS messages thru my PC while my phone is plugged in thru USB? Not too much of a problem, but it would be nice to use my full sized KB and not the Dash one. Maybe a 3rd party app?
Thanks!
For sending SMS from your computer you should just use this free program.

It doesn't require your dash and its "free"

Also, if you connect to aol instant messenger you can just send a message to the person's phone number and not worry about carrier, etc. i.e. if the phone number is 415-555-1212 just send an aim msg to +14155551212 . The recipient can also reply back just like any other text message.... Yay and woo.
I cracked my screen and am waiting to get my new excalibur in a few days, but until that time is there a way for me to send sms messages through my computer?? I know that I can read them using programs like my mobiler but I don't know of a program that lets me send them. Anyone have a solution?

Thanks. Must have just missed it when I was looking. Appreciate the help.
callwave.com has a desktop widget that lets you send free txt messages
I've searched the forums and haven't seen anything about this so far... but the problem is, I can get phone calls but not texts. I did HardSPL unlocker, flashed a rom, sync with pc, and have tried a few different roms but none will allow me to get text messages. When a test text was sent from my email I got a mailerdaemon return message: "Remote host said: 550 Invalid recipient"... anyone know what might be going on here?

SMS and emails are not the same. You can't send SMS via Email just like you can't send email via SMS.
Don't send to yourself. Test by sending an SMS to your device via another device.
well, i know for sure the sms texts arent working as ive had numerous ppl tell me that theyve been sending me texts, and i havent gotten any of them. can somebody please tell me how i ca configure my att tilt2 to receive text, a cab or reset to stock rom etc or anything?

did you check the sms settings in the phone to make sure your using the right gateway?
I've tried a few different gateway settings/advanced network settings and it still isn't working. I'm going to try and get it back to a (closest-to)stock rom and see if AT&T can do anything about it. Is there any particular setting I'm not aware of?
Hey folks,
This is my first post and I looking for some assistance.
I seem to have a strange problem with my messsages but it only happens with one particular contact and its doing my head in.
I am using the Chomp App and I think its great but the problem I have is one of my friends (who is on the orange network) when he sends me a message and I try to reply to him the message fails. When I check the view message details it shows his telephone number as 44XXXXXXXXXX it has removed the + sign from in front of the number.
However if I go into the failed message and select forward the message sends no problem and + is in front of the number.
I have checked his contact details on my phone and they are fine and if I send him a normal text it sends, the problem only seems to arise if I try to reply to the message he sends me.
Anybody got any idea how to fix this ????
I appreciate any replies
thanks
Hi folks,
hopefully someone can help me.
For a long time now, I'm looking for an app which can send and recieve short messages (not SMS!!) from an on your PC. A simular App would be Chrome to Phone but not only for links but messages in general as well as the ability to recieve messages from your phone on your PC.
For Example, I want to use it for the following situations:
- you want to (quickly) share a link you have found on your PC with your Whatsapp mates.
- you have recieved a link / name or just something on your phone and want to google it on your PC
- you want to call a number which is displayed on you PC
Does any of you guys knwos an app or a solution for this case? I know that Android Lost uses a message service called message popup. Hoever it isn't really intuitive for this kind of usage.
Maybe someone has an idea...
Big Thanks
Hilola
