I suppose you don't use Outlook to sync. with a PC, but if you had "Contacts" checked in "Settings->Permanent save", recheck it and they will be restored.

02 'no service' problem

hey all,
first post so go easy!
right, i've trawled the net for the answer to this so here goes.
earlier today i was recording a voice memo, half way through i heard a pip from the xda and the screen froze. i pressed soft reset with no joy. in the end i had to hard reset.
after the hard reset it was the usual, set up guest in activesync, then restore from the previous back up file. this all went fine till i noticed i had no GPRS or phone signal!
i've tried manually setting up to detect 02 UK etc. with no joy.
i've tried hard resetting a couple more times with no joy, i'm surrently restoring in coporate mode using 0506 as the password.
i really am baffled and don't know where to go from here hence asking you lot.
**i've just noticed that it loses phone signal when i start restoring the backup file**
thank you for your time reading this post, and thanks in advance for any advice.
Josh
make sure that your flight mode is turned OFF you can do this by clicking on your signal bar and click "turn flight mode off"

need help with my dopod 900

good morning to everyone, im a newbie to this forum. i wonder if anyone can help me with my problem?
my problem started yesterday morning when i accidentally overcharged my dopod 900 for around 4 hours. since then i cant make and receive calls, only text messages. aside from that i can't seem to figure out why there is not a single sound coming from my pda (ringtone, alert tone, alarms, etc)
a friend of mine suggested i reflash first. any suggestions?
1st try to take out battery for 5min, than put in and switch on you uni.
if problem still same, will suggest hard reset (pls backup before hard reset)

ISSUE: Random clock change by itself

Since I've bought my Arc (11 weeks ago) the clock has changed 3 times by itself causing the alarm to not sound.
1st Time I thought it was caused by me setting it to update from the network.
2nd Time I checked what apps were running (just the std), clock was set to manual... so I set the time correctly... when I restarted the phone the clock changed again.
3rd Time today, it displayed Wednesday 03:45, instead of Friday 08:45... so I just restarted it and it went back to the correct time. I check the clock now before going to bed and it was good at 00:05.
Any help on trying to resolve this would be appreciated... just so I don't get to work late .
Thanks.
Had the same issue too, also if I turn off the phone and turn it back on.........the time and date would be reset.......very weird!! What cause this to happen and any solution? Cheers

Exactly the same with my German non branded, simlock free, non rooted and still boot-locked phone with the latest software
I've also had the same issue but thought it was specific to my phone. I'll forward this onto my ADM for you and see if I can get an answer!
Damn phone did it again today... 5 days later.
Displayed 00:52 instead of 08:52.
It always happens when the phone is in flight mode.
happened 4 times now and probably always during flight modus, now use a old really cheap Samsung phone to wake me up on time....

com.android.phone crashing

Last night something made my screen turn on and stay on until my battery died. Now if this wasn't strange enough, when I finally got enough charge in it to boot it up, com.android.phone started crashing which means I haven't had service all day. Google calendar has been crashing as well if it helps, but everything else has been fine including wifi. I've restarted my phone several times throughout the day and even reflashed the radios, all to no avail. Does anybody know a fix? I'm running lifeless v12 rooted and unlocked, let me know if you need to know more and I'll gladly provide it.
p.s. ever since this morning my battery percentage has been going up by a couple % every little while before it goes back down. Not sure if it's related in anyway but I'm not really complaining.
Hard reset would be the best option. Then just leave it for like a day to make sure it is working.

Sorry but what is a hard reset in terms of android? Is it just a Factory data reset? Thanks for the response btw.
Well I did the factory reset and that fixed it. I had to do that from recovery though since settings crashed when ever I tried applying the reset.... Thanks again for the help!

[Q] HTC one V overheated

My HTC one V got overheated around the area at the bottom of the touch after i had been on a call for about 40 minutes. I tried to turn it off but it won't respond to any buttons. After remaining heated for sometime ( good 20 minutes or so) it turned itself off automatically. Now it won't start again. I have pretty important data stored in contacts and its internal memory which i want to retrieve.
How can i restart it now and get my data?
Would appreciate help on this issue please.

This is one of the most common problems on stock but your phone should turn on without any problem.. Was your phone charged...??

Yes PS it was charged. I just put it down after a call and was busy on another phone. After a few minutes when I picked up the phone it was hot. I tried to turn it off but no buttons seemed to work and it kept getting hotter. when it cooled down after a couple of hours i tried to charge it too but the red charging light will not turn on and neither the phone.

It's quite uncommon buddy, what's the current status...? If its still not booting try going into bootloader (power+volume down) mode and restart your phone from there..
Connect it to the pc and check how it is recognized
You should probably get a JTAG to see if you haven't fried the motherboard. My guess is that its already a dead body. But you can always check?

Guess the problems which I faced with my ONE V is a common issue. Dude send your model to service center. They will give you a replaced set (which happened in my case). Its a mother board problem (guess thats what they told me).
PS: Your phone must be in warranty for replacement.
