anyone here using vito buttonmapper? there's no option to map ms voice command when using buttonmapper. is there a workaround for this? thanks!
I think it reads the programs from the programs directory
Copy and paste a link to the voicecmd prog into the start menu/programs directory and it should find it.

HI everyone, I have searched and searched around on the forum to tell me how todo this but have not had any luck!!!
What I want to do is create a shortcut or move a program that did not originally have a .exe file to install itself in the correct directorys on my PDA. This means that the file was and still is just a simple PDA .exe file that you just click on through (for example) file explorer it launches.
Now is there a way of creating a shortcut to show this program in the "Program" folder so it is easier to launch and use??
I'm sure there is and I would greatly appreicate a reply
Keep up the good work people.
Soon we'll be mightier than *icrosoft !!!! :?

Click to collapse
The way I did this (don't know if it is the best way but) was with the PPC in the cradle and Active Sync running, clicked explore on Active Sync and created a shortcut in explorer (directly on the pocket device) and then cut and pasted it into the programs folder.
DLC
just copy the exe.file and paste as shortcut into the windows/start menu/programs folder
Nothing more obvious really when you see it

Hi All,
I'm a bit miffed and stumped as to how to change the default .pdf reader from the crappy clearvue (included with the artemis) to the nicer and better Acrobat Reader.
Basically what I want to do is that when I click on a .pdf file, rather than opening clearvue it opens with Acrobat Reader.
Anyone knows a way on how to change the default application on Windows Mobile 5.0?? I already went through the registry but didn't find anything "obvious" in there and google throws nothing . Any help would be highly appreciated.
Cheers...
Get the demo version of resco explorer andthere you have the option to "open with" and then just like in windows you make it the default program..
hope this helps

Yups, the above method is what I have also used. It is just that the WM5 file explorer doesn't have this feature - "open with" (as is the same in Windows OS, or other OS). Also use Adobe Acrobat 2 as Clearvue PDF is simply awful and damn slow.
download total commander and change the file association by holding the stylus over a pdf file till you get the right click menu, then select properties then file associate, find adobe acrobat and select. that should sort your problem.

Thanks all, I am having issues with it though. After trying the total commander way, I tried to open a file and acrobat popped up a message "Could not open the file as it does not exist" wtf...
Anyone else had this prob?
i've now started using pocketxpdf which you can download from sourceforge. if you download this prog then go into options you can associate pdfs with xpdf.
go for it!
hope it helps,

Thanks I'll try it
2change fileassoc U can use sktools as well
Hi!
I noticed the new file, folderview.exe, in the windows folder. From what I can determine from the wizard forum the file is necessary for the HTC home Launch Programs Folder action to function correctly. I have tried using the application standalone to launch a custom folder without luck.
Does anyone know what parameters the executable takes, if any. I hoped that I could make a link file to the executable withe the path to my custom folder as an parameter, but that did not seem to work.
Regards,
PK
I'd like to do the same.
I've created a 'Tools' folder (for CearTemp, SK Tools, Oxios and other similar progs) within 'Windows\Start Menu\Programs' folder. It would be nice to make a shortcut to it and put it into the Launcher tab of HTC Home Plugin, but I can't force folderview.exe to open other folder than Programs.
Will somebody help us?
Thanks in advance,
Quick question, i tried to make a .lnk of deepfish in my storage card and remap the Tzone button...it doesnt work....i tried different paths:
\storage card\program files\deepfish\deepfish.lnk
this doesnt work
even if i put in the root like \deepfish.lnk
...doesnt work and gives me an error...what im doing wrong here?
btw im having wm6 and the link does work when i click it with explorer if that helps.
i came so far as:
Remapping Keys and Text Input
How To Edit the Keyboard Link
Download http://vieka.com/wordpad.htm Vieka WordPad.
Sync your phone to your PC.
Run CE Notepad on your computer and open any of the following files:
T-Zones Button: "\Windows\Short_IE.lnk"
***Second Method if you have Total Commander, this can be done on the Dash directly.
Navigate to \Windows\Short_IE.lnk
Edit it (to one of the suggestions below for instance), save and reboot.
Recommended Remaps
CommManager: 36#"\windows\CommManager.exe"
Task Manager: 19#\Windows\IA_Task_Manager.exe?:TaskManagerApp
Internet Explorer: 36#"\windows\iexplore.exe"
i dont get the numbers b4 the links.....
Why are you using .lnk? Shouldn't it be .exe if you are using it from your directory and not from Windows Start Menu? Try this exactly as I type it.
36#"Storage Card\Program Files\Deepfish\deepfish.exe"
in your DashConfig. You must use the number 36# because it assigns the hotkey button; in this case the T-Zone button. I believe 19# would be the Mail hotkey. I hope it helps.
The path should have a forward slash before Storage Card\Program Files\Deepfish\deepfish.exe.
I was wondering why he was trying to call up the program via shortcut.
This is why:

According to the link of the tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281289
'Here is a utility I wrote that will let you change almost all of the JOGGR settings on the phone. It will also let you change the apps that launch when you press the Camera key and the T-Zones key. The app shortcuts must be in the shortcut file format because I didn't know enough about the Windows CE LNK format to simply let you pick an EXE.'
Guess u guys r right and he didnt update the link.
thanks anyway for the help and quick response
I have a Surface RT 32GB and am trying to create symbolic links to a NAS (WD Mybook live Duo 4TB) for the music library. I run the mklink /D command and I get "The system cannot find the path specified."
Here is my full syntax: mklink /D "C:\Public\Shared Music" "\\192.168.0.4\Public\Shared Music"
I have tried using the drive letter and drive name for the NAS, but get the same error.
I am running the command prompt as administrator and have created the appropriate directory and added to the library, then deleted the directory.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Chris
There's no such folder as "Shared Music". That's purely a shell abstraction. The folder is merely called Music.
Also, there's a better way to do it:
Open Explorer.
Go to C:\Users\Public
Right-click the Public Music folder and select Properties
Go to the Location tab (which will show you that the actual folder is just called "Music")
Enter the target path you want to use in there
That would be cool, but I am unable to change the target location in the location tab.is there a regedit that will allow me to do that?
Also, with regard to the symbolic link, "shared Music" is the folder I created and deleted to link to.
Search the registry for the current value of that Location field, and you should find it. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to edit it, though; it's easily editable on my system.
