I've been the owner of an HTC P3300 for almost 1,5 years and I'm seriously considering of abandoning the device. My main reasons for abandoning the device:
- you have to use the stylus too much. Face it: Windows Mobile simply isn't made for finger usage. Too many buttons, tabs, menu's etc are too small to control with your fingers in a comfortable way
- the device is getting too slow. I've been annoyed more and more lately about the speed of the processing capabilities of the device
- The good Artemis cookers have left us. There's little hope that the 'perfect' finger friendly rom will ever be cooked in the future. (no offense to the other rom cookers that are still there)
Strictly speaking about functionality the Artemis and any other recent Windows Mobile wins against an iphone. Speaking about usability, after 1,5 years always running the latest customised roms (B&B 3.7, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.0 & Artemis Touch 4.01, 4.02, Oops Black v1.0) I think that I am tired in spending time in trying to improve the capabilities of a device by constantly upgrading and reinstalling stuff which should be provided by the company ofering the device on the market.
Looking at the iphone, it has a high level of usablility, it's finger friendly from its launch as it should be, runs smoothly, and its software is constantly being improved. I will never have to start installing addons or hacking registry keys to improve the usability of the OS itself.
That sayd, i''m gonna buy an iphone next week Good luck in the future all you guys with your Artemis, but i've had it with it!
BTW, I just notice my signature is already way out of date
I already have 5 HTC devices but no Artemis yet...
I voted yes because Artimes is much the same as some of my devices and I'm happy with them. I will be getting an Artemis for shure if I find a cheap second hand.
I would rader have a phone with all functions I need ...then a finger friendly Phone witch is missing some verry important apps
i'll be happy with it...my dad and cousin have it and they are ok with it,i had it and it was great...(i still maintain those two and they work like a charm)
if you decide to abandon it...i'll be happy to provide you my address (for shipping)
and i am willing to pay...both device and shipping
PM me if you want
thanks very much
Hi,
I couldn't miss my Artemis for the world, it was once in repair and I bought a new one second hand. I have it from 2006 now.
I find it perfect cause of the all in gsm+gps+wifi and perfect pocketsize and second hand price now +-€250 is relatively cheap, newprice around €350 (bought it for €550! in 2007!). It's no too small and not too big.
1- Have no problems with Artemis concerning stylus and there are 'fingertouch' programs or roms. I have the resco big keyboard for sms and picturedial in one fingertouch.
2- Processorspeed : nothing wrong with it!!!
I use gps (IGO8 heavy graphics) & call via Bluetooth together, not slow in any way.
The rom i have is the Russian WWE rom with lots of ram free.
Wifi is also fast enough but I use laptop for bigger screen offcourse.
I have also mame-roms and tested lots of software, no speed problems.
With batterystatus you can overclock to 240mhz or something, but unnescessary, and remember, fast processor = battery exhaustion. In past i had the XDA 2i & E-ten G500 (both processors about 400-500MHZ, so double) but don't miss the 'faster' processor. Have my P3300 one week in my pocket now, and battery still 25% thanks 2 the TIO OMAP processor!
People say the processor is slow, but i wonder which applications they run together then??? Maybe pocket-photo-shop or do they edit movies or something ???
3-Actually I found out that the best cook is yourself. I never cooked a rom myself, but the smartest thing to do is take the lightest rom as a base, and put your own software on it. SPB Mobile shell for example for greater today looks, Greatball Samurai weather, ...
I test now and then new roms for fun if i'm not missing anything, but you own tuning is more fun and you know what you install, no unnescessary tools to remove...
I would only be prepared to buy a new device if the price is the same.
The HTC Diamond is nice for example, maybe within 2-3 years also €250 second hand.
Most advantage for P3300 is the SDHC cardslot vs Diamond has 3G (but don't miss it at the moment)
Cheers & enjoy our Greek God Artemis
Ciao,

still happy
Brought a used 02 Orbit from the UK for about $230 AUD delivered, have updated the Rom and find it fast and stable. it has everything I want except for HSDPA.
Having said that will more than likely buy a touch diamond when released in Australia ....
1. It has HSDPA
2. It is 19 grams lighter
3. Looks more modern with the flush screen
But in no hurry, as mentioned happy with the Orbit
Hi all,
Still happy with it.... obviously it'll not last forever but i believe that other devices are still "doing more of the same thing" and 2 years are not enough to throw away my 500€ device....
Regrats
i am still very happy with my artemis. i use spb mobile shell and that's all i need for finger friendliness (considering its a WM device...).
i am considering to get a touch diamond because it looks like the first device that is really a newer generation than the artemis (hsdpa, lighter, better look, better display and vga, more memory and faster processor). the touch diamond offers more in almost every aspect.
next time my provider wants me to profit from one of these outrageous offers i will probably get the touch.
I voted Yes, still happy!
The roms that are available are all pretty good, I'd say, and the things you're missing one widely can add using some Apps - just have a look at the Development and Hacking section.
As you've mentioned the iPhone there's enough people around who ported the interface to WM - sometimes better, sometimes not.
But even where the iPhone seems to be the state-of-the art these days in terms of usability (haven't tried it myself), there's one thing I'd be missing: free software!
Sure the Artemis never was actually really fast if you compare it to others.
Still it's fast enough for me, so the point of time when that'll change is still way ahead!
Cheers,
Markus.
I'm also still Happy with my Artemis. I could play with IPhone 3G and also with HTC Diamond, but I won't change to one of them.
IPhone's Menu is really terrible structured. The Sync Software of IPhone is Apple like unstable. And I don't need 3d TouchFlo wich is used in HTC Diamond.
I will change to a new Phone, when the finger friendly WM7 has arrived in a stable version.

Yup..still happy !
I had an upgrade recently and because I was bored (I have a low theshold for same ole same old) I got a Nokia N95, and a Blackberry Pearl, just so I can amuse myself.....but nothing prepared me for the withdrawal shock of giving up my Artemis.
Needless to say, those other phones are back in their boxes in the loft, and possibly soon on a website near you.
I wont be surprised if after a while you get fed-up with the iPhone and it's 'cult-like' approach to hardware and software, and start groping for your Artemis....which hopefully wont have been gone !
still happy with the artemis, but the voice in my head starts yelling "diamond !! go get a diamond"

I went twice in a mobile store to see Diamond. I did not felt like "I have to buy it". It 's beutiful but I m not sure it will be my next mobile. There are a lot of discusions about problems, alot of new roms, tweaks to make it faster. Why should I be in a such trouble? My Artemis is "flying" with Vanilla4.1.
Maybe Touch Pro or Xperia will make me change mobile (or find diamond in a really low price).
Voted Yes
I'm one of the first HTC users, started with Wallaby year's ago.
Since then I was happy with my Himalaya (still using as second mobile phone), not so much with Alpine (as there was never an WM5 or WM6 version) and never with the Blue Angel (too heavy and keyboard unusable).
My very best mobile so far is the Artemis.
Fast like no other, very stable and full of functions I do really appreciate (as for example GPS, FM Radio).
Last week I got my Diamond and I really regret to say, it's not worth to buy it.
Slow like chewing gum, the Touch screen is really annoing me as using the stylus I'm sick typing up to 3 times the same position to have the function working.
Say to me I'm old fashined, it's OK.
But so far I will stay with my beloved artemis
I'm still happy with my device for what it does. And it does a lot!
I've gotten bored with it from time to time but I always come back to it. It's stable, fast, very capable, and it's very intuitive. You don't HAVE to use the stylus because you have so many input options. For one, the buttons you complained about. You don't like the buttons? That's what makes the Artemis unique - it's a small keyboardless device, with plenty of input/navigation options. It's got the scroll wheel, a pointer, a scroll ball, I've added touchflo, and 11 hardware buttons (great to use with Hbutton). There's no reason anyone shouldn't be able to set this phone up exactly they way they want to get to everything you need quickly. The programs I use most are opened with the press of one button. And inputting text with my finger nail is easier to me than using a keyboard too.
If you're not satisfied with you phone, you probably don't have it set up right for yourself, or your just bored with it. But for productivity and intuitiveness, I personally think it's one of the best WM devices ever. I bought it not because of prestige or hype like the you know what phone, but because of the lack of complaints about common problems with the device. It has none! It has the most solid reliability history - way better than the TyTn II, Trinity, the Wing, or the Eten devices I was looking at before I bought the Artemis. All of these devices have common issues like, short memory, screens going bad, bad BT stacks, wacky software, slow (even with 400Mhz), ect. The Artemis does not have one common issue that everyone has except WM itself.
And the iphone, are you kidding me! You can't do half the stuff you can do on the Artemis on the iphone. And the 3G iphone has a bunch of issues with it right now. Don't understand why people think they're going to avoid issues by going with the iphone. If you're a multimedia person, yea, but if you actually use your phone for productivity, you will not be happy with the iphone. It doesn't even multitask! If you want an iphone because your needs have changed and it fits, I'm happy for you, but I totally disagree if you think the iphone is better than the Artemis when it comes to capabilty. It all depends on your needs, but the iphone would never suite my needs. All in all, this is the best WM device I've ever used, and I've yet to see something worth upgrading to - even the Diamond. How do you quickly switch from one application to another to copy and paste rapidly on a Diamond or a iPhone? I just press the "e" button on my Artemis that's mapped "to Alt Tab" which toggles btwn programs. I can easily do that because I've got 5 other buttons to use for other stuff. These phones barely have any to use. That's one of the reasons I love my Artemis.
And why is everyone so anti-stylus? You don't really have to use it but it's great for writing out whole sentences at a time.

i am currently selling my iphone 2g 16GB, which i thought would be a worthy companion to make me dump my P3300...as u read i am selling the iphone!
the p330 is an all-day gear machine, which combines a number of simply working devices in one: phone, tomtom navigator, ipod/music player, office synchroniser...and the lot...and all that for a mere 100 euros these days in ebay europe!
stuff iphones and the flashy design and screen...i need a companion that works, is maintainable (exchangeable battery) and doesnt need to be pimpered and cared for in a daily basis -
greetz
p.s. htc touch hd would be an alternative, but than again i just got used, after all those years, to simpply using my p3300 without worrying about a bump here or a shake there...
i bought p3300 around 3 years back. i am satisfied with its performance. i bought nokia n900 few days back. my younger brother told me to give him one of these sets - i gave n900 away. cant part with p3300. n900 seems to have a juvenile operating system. no proper applications. moreover with that big screen they dont have a proper media player like core player or pocket player. i find my p3300 with omap far too advanced. everything i need i have on it. i format it but dont flash it - in say 6 months.
i vote for p3300. and yes, no sissy iphone for me.
Yeah!
Even I voted Yes. Because I have bought it from 2007, and I every month change its rom, I get updated and enjoy my time.
On the other hand, the processor is also not too bad!
I f you want to use Phone, Office, or write messages, that is good with FingKeyb 2.1
By the Way, it's your wish to sell it.
Best Wishes!
Thanks,

It needn't be that late for 6.5 ROMs to start appearing here, need it? Going by version 6 experiences, we could expect to see the 6.5 ROMs as early as this year. Hermes support is an unknown though.

HAhahahahaha i was exited.... sorry... but without screenshots it becames like the WM7 Toughts hahaha.... we all spect not to have the enhaced oS with 3D processor like the new Diamond hardware....
Hope its not and can be cooked to hermes....
I dont know if i want to believe this or not...
Will the Hermes be ready for WM7???

try one of these roms with manilla and you'll know... hermes is such a great pda but its resources are very limited and microsoft has tradition in releasing new systems that like to eat a big slice of memory. let's see.
there's always a possibility that this is just speculation. apple os for the iphone is a big deal when it comes to finger friendly apps, so is google android and microsoft knows that all... and let's not forget that nokia is also about to release their iphone-like handset running a touchscreen version of their Symbian OS which the market's been waiting for a long time. microsoft needs to react really fast, i think that 'second half of 2009' would be way too late.

Depends on how flashy they make it. My old HTC Typhoon that came with WM2003SE runs WM6.1 just fine right now. But if MS starts relying heavily on graphics processing, 2D or 3D, most older devices won't be able to handle it.
Yea your probably right.
But I think in 2009 I can buy a new telephone then
sapphire_pro said:

No, because WM7 is built on WinCE 6.0, Hermes runs WinCE 5.0.
i really do not know if our Hermes will fit the WM6.5
i'd like to think that by the time wm6.5 and wm7 rolls around, most of us will have replaced the hermes with somn newer from HTC+nvidia's tegra600 or better GPUs
http://www.nvidia.com/page/handheld.html
i can't wait til what kinds of neat things xda devs. can do with a fully powered GPU and lots more room to do it with. i'm always amazed what xda devs. can do with hermes platform already =P.

yes, nvidia's tegra600 is good future stuff! Are U sure HTC is working with nvidia tegra600?
what needs to happen
I would never say that wm 6.5 or 7 can't run on the hermes, odds are it will be so memory heavy that it will not have much free program memory to run.
having said that, I still have a mpx200 in the drawer that I mess with every now and then, it started with wm2002, then went through the os's all the way up to wm6.1 after someone figured out how to use the storage card for the os to run.
My guess is that it would take someone figuring out how to load the os (or most of it) onto the card and run the programs (or most of them) from the card so that the program memory could run the device. (here is where the nonbelievers say things about how the sdcard tranfer rate is not fast enough to run programs or how the hermes prossesor is not made for the os...blah...blah...blah) all I can say is tell your naysaying to my mpx200
and for those who say get a better device, ah, were not talking about launching the shuttle here, it's a ppc, 400mhz is plenty to keep the hermes a very usable device for the average user for a long time.
The point is not will I use it, but could I use it and with the right developers, I am very confident I could and will.
http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=1653
supposed screenshots of 6.5.
if you look at the icons some of them are imac icons. Its not a real shot of it.
I dont know but
watch at your help app icon (lifesaver) comes from the Linux OS
so maybe is maybe isn't the only thing we can spect is the release date... and maybe neither that.
Screenshots says nothing....i can put an iphone skin on my hermes....
i'm not 100% sure these screenshots are fake but one thing i must say is that they do look a lot like the Zune interface which would definitely be a good market strategy for microsoft to put all their mobile experiences with a similar look.
zune is a great music player and its market share's been growing rapidly it would be a quite smart move from microsoft to get everything in the family.
First of all,
I'd like to say this is my 4th Windows Mobile device. I've owned 2 HP PocketPCs, a HTC Touch Pro and now a HTC Touch Pro2. I like the looks of the Touch Pro2 a lot. However, I have never liked Windows Mobile at all.
How is this OS still around? All programs available for it are a nightmare to find compared to competition such as an iPhone, which has only been around for a couple years. Windows Mobile has been around for a while, why do I still have to repeatedly open and close my keypad for it to rotate the screen? Why when I want a game to play or program to help make my life a little bit easier, it takes 30 minutes to find and then turns out its some ridiculous price. Every time I see a person with an iPhone find, download and install an app within a minute from the device, I wonder why I would even pay for a Windows Mobile device.
I've never been a big Apple fan and I love my Sprint service, so what i'm trying to ask is what options do I have with my Touch Pro2? I've tried a couple ROM's and non of them have made my phone better, they just fix one problem and present another.
I really appreciate the work every developer does on here, I know they are trying their best to make the devices run as best as possible, but I'm very close to cancelling my Sprint contract and switching to an iPhone.
I have to disagree with your view. I don't find iPhones to be nearly as customizable as WinMo, I have tried Droid, and maybe in a year or 2 it will be a bangin' OS, but for stability, I will stick with my faithful workhorse...
Yes it isn't as pretty or flashy, yes it is a touch slower, but my WinMo devices have been like Timex...takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. I'll take that ANY DAY over flash. My last was the Wizard...I had it almost 4 years. If I buy a new battery for it, it will still work...but it doesn't have GPS which I really wanted. Now I have the TP2. I am NOT gentle with my phones. I use them for everything...my device keeps me on schedule, makes my calls, keeps my kids happy while waiting somewhere...I never power it off, and only charge it once every 2-3 days...
I have friends with iPhones and with Droid devices, and they have had to replace them under warranty, they carry chargers with them because the battery life sucks...they look good, I'll give them that...for me that isn't enough.
Each person has their own taste, maybe yours isn't a taste for WinMo, but I cannot agree that it SUCKS. I agree that there are things that I'd like to see updated or sped up a bit, but for the abuse it can take, WinMo is good.
Couldn't agree more with akashastrega, I had a Iphone 3GS for a month or so.
I got tired of it, nothing to do.
Same crap got pretty boring, and yes, the battery life on those suck.
These WM phones are extraordinary and much more customizable.
I just ditched a BlackBerry Pearl 8120 for my Touch Pro 2 yesterday. In the 10 hours I have had the phone, I have customized and tweaked it to my liking. I installed several programs I know I will love, and NO MORE LAGGING. I'm just missing 2 games and the Seidio Slim Extended Battery, and then it will be the phone I will carry everywhere for the next 2 years.
WM is great!
Disagree too,
Yes there are some issues, but if you spend some time tweaking and configuring you can get great results (using a good ROM)
----------------
Guys vote on my sig!
Internet troll is trolling..
I'm new here, but I didn't join just to post this. I am gonna be getting a Tilt2 in the next couple days, and wanted to read up on things. I have had a few WinMo phones, and I currently have an Iphone... I have jailbroken my iphone, and the things I could do with it improved drastically, but I will tell you, stock for stock, I prefer the WinMo OS over the Iphone OS. I like it so much better, that now that it's upgrade time, I'm going back to WinMo with the tilt2.

I hate that everyone always threaten windows mobile users with picking up an Iphone. No one can make your mind up for you. Every phone/os has its problems and none will be perfect. I respect apple for waking up the industry and making everyone step there game up. But as far as im concerned anyone not computer illiterate, not picking winmo or even android before iphone reminds me of people who pay 100 for an hdmi cable.
My main beef with the T-Mo TP2 was the browser. There's IE, but IE is IE and we all know to avoid it like the plague, however, for certain things, it worked much better than the (surprisingly) crappy Opera Mobile 9 included in the latest Tmo US build.
It all changed, though, when I got Opera Mini 5 beta. That browser should be the standard against which all mobile browsers should be measured.
I also figured out how stupidly simple it's to tether my phone's 3G connection to my laptop with Vista (rather than android requiring a rooted system and kernel support) with an official build, no less. There are some things that lack polish, but HTC made a formidable job of keeping those encounters with the uglier parts of winmo at a minimum.

If you are just looking to use games and entertainment apps i strongly suggest you an iphone... WinMo devices are more for productivity and less for entertainment iphones on the contrary were made for the masses so that my be your kind of phone.
Yeah, WM really sucks, such as:
1) That sucky ability to tether and use as a WiFi hotspot.
2) Sucks that the hardware keyboard is hands down superior to the stupid iPhone on screen keyboard.
3) Sucks that MS Office is native, and greatly enhances my productivity on the road.
4) Sucks that I can customize and customize, where the iPhone is stuck how Steve Jobs wants it to look and work.
5) Sucks that the TP2 speaker phone is incredible. So good that I used it during a 10-person business meeting at a remote site where there were no landlines (iPhone could have never accomplished this).
Man, WM sucks! I better get an iPhone!
Anyway, most the iPhone "apps" that people are always raving about are all GAMES. I like to casually distract myself from time to time at the airport and such. But there are enough WM games for that. When it comes down to real apps, iPhone owners actually don't have many, they just download games. And there are WM versions of practically all of those.
If you're a kid that needs a toy, the iPhone is perfect. If you're an adult with real business needs, the iPhone doesn't cut it.
Why does it suck so bad? That's easy. Same reason IE 6 sucked horrendously, but was still used by 90%+ of all people browsing the web. Because Microsoft will take over a market, then let their products stagnate. They won't do anything groundbreaking or cutting edge at all once they've wiped out the competition.
Windows CE is 14 years old, and it is still the core of a lot of Windows Mobile. When MS finally beat Palm to rule the PDA market they let their OS stagnate. Along came cell phone connectivity, and MS made only minor changes to the OS to adapt it for smartphone use. MS didn't make any real efforts regarding a finger-based GUI until the iPhone came along and showed how bad Windows Mobile was in that area. Now MS is playing catch up - just like when Firefox came along and suddenly started eating up IE 6's market share, and woke MS up. They will catch up - it's much easier to implement something when someone else has already shown how it can be done. So I expect Windows 7 will be pretty slick.
hmmm... I have long pondered this question myself.
But, as the eternal wisdom of Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie has shown us, "Every OS sucks."
So, it really comes down to a few deciding factors:
If you are a pompous **** that drives a BMW 3 series because you really can't afford a real Beamer, but you still want to catch diseases from women you don't know, you'd better get the iPhone.
If you question your own sexuality and you beg your mother to let you go to the $8 a cup coffee house to watch your favorite beatnick while wearing a $200 dollar Tshirt that looks like something from goodwill and you're 47, spend that extra $57 a month and get a droid.
If you're a pencilneck geek that probably hasn't had a sexual experience with someone else in a few years, but you have hacked into your toaster to burn computer generated pictures on your Albert Einstein shaped frozen french toast that you pulled out of your freezer that you grafted a 52" LCD screen onto that has your favorite fish from Dream Aquarium on it as your "pets", Winmo is probably for you.
(I hope everyone understands this post was made in jest.)
I wish we could "favorite" posts in the forum.....

I think the explanation for how crappy and slow WM cannot be rooted in Microsoft dominance. That explanation makes sense when talking about Windows, but MS never had a large share of the smartphone market. It may have been one of the earliest smartphone OS'es, but RIM's Blackberry has dominated the business-end of the smartphone spectrum in the US, Canada and the UK for a few years now.
I don't know what big business in East Asia, Continental Europe and the Middle East use, but I'm guessing it's not WinMo.

Personally I think it is the way they designed the WM OS. The registry entries are similar to what Windows has always used, and I suspect that the multi tasking and other OS capabilities are modeled after Windows products. The OS multiasks OK, but lags in the operator interface and updating the screen.
While I feel that most of the main points have been hit, here's my view. A few people have already said that WinMo is NOT meant as a gaming/entertainment OS, and they are very right. I use my Touch Pro2 for mail, conference calling, calender etc, and gaming and entertainment when I'm bored or something. I like to think of it like a netbook: it excels at internet (Opera 10 beta is a ninja) and other things, and games as a secondary use only. If WinMo doesn't fit your needs in a phone, then maybe look somewhere else. I also love flashing new roms, trying out android and ubuntu, and personalizing the UI of my phone....

For the record...I have had at least ONE sexual experience in the last few years and my twins are proof of THAT!! And my frozen French Toast is shaped like Tesla...and its not dream aquarium, it's Fish World!!
I use my WinMo to keep my life organized. It excels at BUSINESS...if I am waiting at an appointment, then maybe I'll listen to some music or play a game, but those abilities are not my NEEDS...my needs are keeping my life in order.
Like I said, I tried droid and even crackberry, and have enough friends with iPhones, for ME, sucky WinMo wins hands down...probably for the exact reason that the OP has given it a major Suck Factor!!
Said it before, I'll say it again, its like Timex!!
Another iPhony troll.
Please please please do get an iPhone, I'm sure you are a perfect match for it.
I saw a thread about the M10 from Garmin/Asus in the General forum, checked it out and I'll be damned if it's not a dead ringer for a slightly OC'd MSM7200 http://tinyurl.com/2astk74 and running on 6.5.3 (28xxx?). Garmin Mobile XT was killed for that sucker, and I'm loathe to use an Asus phone. I love their motherboards and they put my nVidia GPU on a PCB with a HSF and some RAM, but I'll stick with HTC devices as far as phones go. I love my real keyboard and challenge any Swype or virtual keyboard user to a battle of WPM.
Garmin Mobile XT hasn't been updated since May of 2008, so how hard do y'all think it'd be to dump that NuviFone's ROM and engineer a method of using it's updated satnav .exe? I'm 99.9% sure the map files haven't changed (running latest April '10 maps). I'm 99% certain that the TP2 can run it.
I don't have a lot of money, but I definitely wouldn't mind throwing down a bit on a bounty for this if others are interested in the same. I'm not sure how bountys work here, but I think I read somewhere that certain mods can escrow such things. This has me immensely excited; the day I figured out how to crack Garmin Mobile XT and run it on my Kaiser was the 2nd coolest eureka moment I've had with a WinMo phone, the coolest being finding this site.

Before warez flaming, one can't buy Garmin Mobile XT from Garmin in the U.S., and I bought 2 $300 dedicated Garmin boxes and both of them were stolen in separate window-smashing thefts out of my car. I don't leave my phone in the car, so Mobile XT's pretty slick in my book.

don't forget, you got your personal info leaked to the world for free too!
wow is this really gonna turn into a thread bashing the PS3? Its the only system I have and I like it the best, its unfortunate that the hack happened but what can you do? Its getting fixed now and hopefully it wont happen again. 360, PS3, IOS, Windows Phone are all great in their own ways, apparently none of you can understand that though as you have to bash whatever you dont have or like.

Most of the information leaked was old information and the brunt of the stuff that mattered was for Japanese people.
Not that it matters.
I think PS3 owners are more likely to accept an outtage because many/most of them don't pay for Online Play - contrary to XBL. If XBL goes down everyone that plays online is watching their money trickle away (Time is money, as they say).
I think the biggest hit Sony will take will come from the SOE MMORPG division. All of their games went down for 2-3 weeks and I have no doubt a lot of people will just play another game because 3 weeks in an MMORPG is an eternity. It can kill guilds and demoralize the playerbase, things like that...
That being said, the XB360 desperately needs a browser, USB Keyboard/Mouse Support, and perhaps even some version of a Flash/Flash Lite player that works decently, along with decent DLNA and the ability to load media onto the HD instead of just streaming it from WMC. I think the PS3 will take a hit but it will still sell decently because it is infinitely more flexible than teh XB360.
I personally got the 360 because it tends to have better Role Playing Games on it than the PS3 - which seems better for people who really like FPS Shooters and stuff like that...
@ OP: Why would you buy an HD7 for Android? The Android sets that were out when the HD7 released were monumentally better from a hardware standpoint with much better screens and GPUs, among other things (FFC, etc.). I'll never understand the logic of getting a WP7 handset and then coming here to cry because some random unsupported OS hasn't been ported to it yet... Could have done yourself a favor and gotten an HD2 for cheaper, IMO. It's literally the same hardware with a better build and different buttons... For shame

I disagree, this whole gen is all about shooters, shooter and more shooters, its ridiculous! Thats all that sells nowadays...and I think the 360 is usually the one that people associate with shooters for some reason. Maybe because Halo and Gears of war.
Either way Im tired of shooters...and I hate COD...
And you don't think RPGs like Fable, Dragon Age, Final Fantasy, and Elder's Scrolls sell, among other things (Drivers, Action/Adventure, etc.)?
Sorry, does not compute
No one is forcing you to play shooters. There are hundreds of games on either platform to choose from. You don't have to be at the mercy of a few online game reviewers...
I think the PS3 controller is so superior to the XB360s for FPS and Drivers that if I was into those types of games I wouldn't have even considered an XB360... I got the XB because it was cheaper at a higher HD size (in addition to reasons stated above), too bad that HD is largely useless compared to a PS3...
And yea, those exclusives probably have a lot to do with it
Obvious waste of a thread is obvious..
