Im having a problem watching video emailed to me. It's being recorded and sent from an iPhone, I download the attachment to my SD card and try to view it using rockplayer but it won't play. I'm obviously a noon to android so any advice is greatly appreciated

probably not the right codec. You may need to convert it first to h264 baseline if it doesnt play with any player.
I use Best VPlayer Pro1.1.2 from the market and it plays the *.mov files taken from iDevices without much problems and it is free

Can you tell what format the video sent to you is in? I personally feel that MoboPlayer is better than Rockplayer and it may be able to handle the video.
Conversion is never the best solution. Sometimes, Apple names them with a particular file extension, which is really another. I know that is confusing, but if you can tell us the format of the video from the iPhone, we can help you more easily.
My girl sends me txts with videos from her iPhone and I use handcent sms to watch them with no problems.
Best video player pro works great! Thank u!

doesn't make sense, he said it does so with every video
Try using ' MX Player ' or ' Mobo Player ' they both have hardware and software support, you could alternate.

[Q] Can't play video's

I am on sphongle right now and when I want to watch video, it gives me the error "sorry, this video can't be played" but before this error i could watch all videos
can someone please help?

Use mx player but that too wont help in generating thumbnails for videos but can play them
I realise this is a dangerous question, but what video player, and were you streaming or watching a video from a file? If possible what was the file type or streaming type?

when in doubt, reboot to recovery and wipe cache,dalvik-cache and try it out again. sounds like you may have corrupted settings or something.
thanks everyone!!!!!

Nice app i found

Hehehe, this is really one great app i found, i dont know of any of you ever used ios, but one of the best apps for apple is movie box. It does need a jailbreak, which is why the android version, which does not need root is so cool. The android version is called showbox.
It is like a free netflix, or hulu, only you dont need an account and monthly payments, hundreds, if not thousands, of tv show episodes and movies, very user friendly ui, clean and simple, there are both streaming and downloading options, in different quality and language either english or russian.
If youre interested, just download the apk from this link:

EDIT:
they recently added subtitles support, just install the apk and update when asked.
