WM 2005 for Harrier - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi there,
I am sure that the answer is somewhere on the boards but i cant seem to find it. Is there a way to upgrade the harrier (I have the Audiovox 6600 on Telus here in Canada) to WM 2005? If it is not already available is this something that might become available?

Is this a legit Siemens upgrade?

Could someone please tell me if this is the actual upgrade that was released by Siemens? Link: http://www.netlano.com/support/Downloads/SX56/index.htm
Also, will I be able to use my phone with T-Mobile after this upgrade? Currently, my SX56 is unlocked.
Well, for one thing its a Rogers upgrade... if I'm not mistaken, that AT&T Canada specific. (not that I really know). I'm still looking for the AT&T SX56 (US) release that got yanked off SIemens site.

Wait...are you sure its ONLY for canada? from the version it says A.30.09 which is the AT&T SX56...or if its different, what the difference? does it still have the volume attenuation problem? thanks..

It's not the A.30.09 ROM.....
Like the download link tells it's Version 30.07.
If you analyse the ROM, you're getting it as Version R.30.07.....

Field my n00b question: XDA/MDA/SX66 differences?

Sorry for the n00b question - I couldn't find the proper search terms to answer my question.
I'm currently checkin' out the XDA IIs, MDA III, SX66, etc on eBay, and the prices vary pretty widely. You can pick up a SX66 for ~$600, but an XDA IIs is around ~$800, as is the MDA III.
My question is, how different are they? I'm in the US, so I think the SX66 is the most easily obtainable, but how restrictive/overbearing is the Cingular firmware? I'd unlock the device, of course. I'd like to use T-Mobile service (since I'm already on a family plan), so I could get the MDA III, but I'd end up paying ~$200 more for the phone itself. If I were to get the SX66 (or the XDA IIs if I could find it cheaper), could I flash in a T-Mobile firmware and/or any newer international stuff and maintain all functionality? Or is there any benefit at all to use a firmware that's associated with your provider?
I did read that the Siemens version is PH20B1, versus the PH20B of the other iterations of the device. Any problems that I may need to overcome? Also, what's the definition of a "cooked" firmware (as I see in many people's signatures)?
Thanks in advance.

WM6 upgrade for v1605

Hi guys, great forum. I have a v1605 on contract with Vodafone UK and I am told that it belongs to Hermes / TyTn family from HTC.
I wanted to know if there was a WM6 upgrade for this model as the guys at HTC Europe were not ready to talk about any network centric phones though their own upgrade is coming around end-July.
Actually I wanted to upgrade my handset to the successor of TyTn which I believe is Kaiser, but nobody at Vodafone is ready to talk about it.
Any help in this area will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi by any chance did you manage to local and install WM6 on your V1605 as I'm trying to find a ROM upgrade of WM6 but no luck. Can any help me with this...?

I'm so confused...

Hi,
I wondered if anyone could clear up my problem...
I have read a lot of threads on different forums about WM6. There's very little information about WM6 upgrades with the PDA I have - the O2 XDA Mini S.
I'm looking to upgrade to WM6, and cannot find any way to do so. I've found T-Mobile offering an upgrade service to their customers, but not O2.
I'm not after any kind of cracked, illegal copy, I just want to know if O2 offer the same service?
Is it that it hasn't been released for this PDA model? Or the service is just not available?
I just want a way to get it! lol
Please help me out!
Thanks

There is no official WM6 out there for your device (HTC Wizard) not from T-Mo, nor from O2, nor from any other operator; so if you don't want to experiment with cooked/leaked roms, you are unfortunatelly out of luck.

T-Mobile MDA --> AT&T 8525

I just bought a refurb'd, locked 8525 today via the world's largest garage sale...eBay. After rightfully flashing my faithful MDA countless times I'm curious to know if my new 8525 can use the same ROMs as my MDA. I've been using several iterations of mfrazzz's WM6; most recently version 5.
I would think fundamentally given the specs, it would be safe. Does anyone have an expert opinion?
no, your MDA device is different than a 8525. It is also known as a hermes 8525 or Tytn. But you do have any option of installing wm5 rom or wm6 rom.
