remove o2active - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

how do you remove o2activeui, someone has to know.... it wont let me remove it, and when i sync my pda with my comp and browse for the stuff to remove, its in use or whatever.

to get shot of the o2 [email protected] you need to hard reset and select corporate mode when it loads up the code for this is 0506

Follwed the instructions here, worked like a charm. Good luck!

How does one even get to select corporate mode?
When I hard reset, I'm only presented with a prompt that asks if I want to auto configure and there's a list of (I'm assuming) cell providers. Since my provider is not in the list, I choose not to do auto configure and the O2 stuff always installs.

Internet now working on Sprint Touch w/new ROM

I hope starting a new thread is the way to go on this...
I just updated to the new Sprint Official WM 6.1 ROM, and immediately could not connect to the internet.
I tried running the IOTA automatic data provisioning update (Start->Settings->Personal Tab->Phone->Services Tab->Internet->Get Settings->Start) and it failed repeatedly with a 1012 error. As was posted by others, I noticed that there was a "CurrentUserName" setting in Start->Settings->System->Device Information that had [email protected] where I would have expected to see [email protected] instead. (that would have been my Sprint provided email address) The first thing I tried was to go to the phone dialpad and dial ##3282# to start the EPST program and check my data provisioning settings (this requires that you know your MSL - Master Service Lock Code - if you are going to edit). UserName was blank there, so I tapped the blank setting and held down until an "EDIT" menu popped up. I tapped "EDIT" and changed it to the previously correct [email protected] value. After saving changes and another reboot, I still could not connect to the internet, run IOTA, and the "CurrentUserName" was still wrong. After searching through various settings looking for a way to change the currentusername, I installed PHM Registry Editor and searched again.
In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/DIM there is a key "EnableCurrentUserName" and it was set to 1. I edited that and set it to 0, exited the Registry Editor, and restarted the device by holding the power button until it warned me about shutting down. I tapped "Yes" and it shut down and restarted. The "CurrentUserName" setting no longer appeared in the Device Information page. At this point I was able to run IOTA successfully and imediately after that I could use the internet and other data services.
I hope this helps someone. Sorry to be so long winded, but I was trying to answer as many "How? Where?" questions as I could as I went.
Briefly:
1. Using WM Registry Editor software, change HKLM/Software/OEM/DIM/"EnableCurrentUserName" from 1 to 0 then save changes and exit editor.
2. Dial ##3282# and edit UserName to correct [email protected] address. Device will reboot when you exit and save changes.
3. Run IOTA by going to Start->Settings->Personal Tab->Phone->Services Tab->Internet->Get Settings->Start
Thanks to all the others here who have helped me along the way,

anyone else know if this works?
i just flashed the new sprint rom and now the data connection does not work.. no internet.. ? I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and does this fix it?
After some more time with this ROM installed I have found that it is not neccessary to change the ##DATA# (##3282#) user name settings. Just change the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/DIM/EnableCurrentUserName value to zero, save changes and then you can run the IOTA update successfully (or at least I can).
I have found that I need to do this every time I do a hard reset of my device. I hope this helps someone else.

this did not work for me.. I Get error code 67
i started a new thread here........ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415666
so maybe someone will chime in... the ##3282# does not work for me at all.. you hit that on the dial pad and nothing happens... so i can not access that menu...
For now i went back to a OEM rom and called sprint and they got me working by doing a MASTER RESET... also ##3282# works on OEM roms but i think the file EPST.EXE is missing from the CUSTOM roms... any input would be great..
Not working for me.
i'm sure a master reset from within #778 or whatever would work but i don't feel like
putting in the data again.

I just upgraded to NFSFAN's latest ROM, everything went well but I can not get my internet to work. The one thing I did notice is under the services tab, internet is not an option. I loaded the dcd sprint carrier 20090714 cab am I missing something else?
Thank you for any help you can provide.
Update:
Well I went back and flashed to the HTC 6.1 rom, then back to the 6.5 rom. That fixed my internet issues, but that option is still missing for me. Then after all of that my MSID was really screwed up. Everything seems to be good now.
please please help me clear the instructions
i have a horribly vague idea of what i need to do, to get the internet working again.
i already got the IOTA_1120 zip file in my cell but when i even try to open it up it says that there is no application that is related to to it, so i must start this application and open up the file from within. How do i do this? am I even doing what im supposed to??
Where exactly is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/DIM and how do i get there???
if you could please instruct me with simple stieps i would greatly appreciate it, simple being like start>program files> etc.
please help i am one step away from smashing this damm cell into the wall

The path of HKEY.... is actually on the registry. You need to use a registry editor (like PHM Regedit) to make the necessary changes to the registry. I would recommend you to re-read those instructions as they will not get any easier than that. Alternatively, if you are on Sprint's official rom and have absolutely no clue what you are doing, you can always call them and ask them for help.
As far as the IOTA zip file, if you cannot open it, that means that you do not have any program to extract from compressed files in your device. Your best bet is to transfer the file to the desktop and extract it there. Once you are done, place the extracted contents back in the device and run it in there.

How To Sync Contact WM6.5 To Google?anyone know?

i wanna ask something, now i've used HTC Mogul with WM6.5 from Ryan Mogul....
i tried to sync my contact to google with this instructions :
1. Open the Active Sync application on your device's home screen.
2. Click Set up your device to sync with it.
3. Enter m.google.com as the server address.
4. Ensure that the SSL option is selected.
Sign In to Your Google Account
5. Click Next.
6. Enter your full Google Account email address as the User name.
7. Enter your Google Account password as the Password.
8. Leave the Domain field empty. If your device requires you to enter a domain name, enter google.
9. Click Next.
10. Check Contacts, Calendar, or Email, depending on which you'd like to sync. (Tasks is not supported and will lead to an error if checked.)
11. Click Finish.
12. Press the Sync softkey on the left to synchronize.

wow.....
on WM6.5?
yes perfectly, on both 6.5 and 6.5.x
it's how I often sync my contacts if I can't get to my PC after I've pushed my hd2 too much and forced a hard reset.
Works perfect for me too, on 6.5 and 6.5.3 , nothing changed since 6.1 anyway oO
Cannot understand where your problem is, i took informations from the google sync page (the one you mentioned in your own post) and all worked fine.
Dumb question but... your pc is connected to the internet when you sync it?
Or are you trying without a pc?
I'd like to help but rly man, i do not understand...

maybe this is the issue you have?
or it could be how you're doing it, or even something in how the person who cooked the rom you're using did.

Froyo and exchange

I've searched everywhere but cannot find a solution that works.
I've just got a HTC Desire but cannot get ActiveSync to work. No one other has a Desire with froyo so I cannot get any help here. (they do got iPhones or window phones, which all can sync)
I use the exact same settings as they do, however whatever I do I get "authentication failed", and I know that I user correct domain/user/pass.
I tried owa through the browser and that worked fine. I checked the certificate and that was valid. Any ideas?
We run exchange 2003
go check the exchange original certificate's host name.
This was the problem with my setup.
On 2.1 it didn't care, on 2.2 the domain(host name) must be identical to the actual certificate of the exchange.

I'm going to assume you are running Froyo - as most exchange servers require remote wipe and unless your device meets the minimum security requirements it will not work.
Have you installed the certificate? (This may not be necessary as ActiveSync pulls the policies from the server)
Settings > Security > Install from SD Card
Froyo supports ".cer" certificates so you should not have a problem here.
Here is the main thing, in security you need to make sure you do the following:
Change screen lock - make sure you set a PIN password (MUST BE PIN!) If you have pattern password enabled you will not connect.
Lock phone after - this should be set to "Immediately"
After over a week of trying to get it working on my Desire changing to PIN password is what I had to do. Let me know if this works for you.
Failing this download the demo version of TouchDown from the android market and try to connect using the "Automatic" method - if it fails it should give you more details on what the actual problem is or you can always email NitroDesk who make the app for help.
Thanks will try!
tried and it did not help. I'll check with the retards managing our echange. My colleague tried with his user/pass and it worked straight away. there's something wrong with my user i guess.
There is a bug with certain configurations of Exchange 2003 where IIS will throw an error when you log in, if your password is set to expire within 14 days.
Try to log in with outlook web access and see you get "HTTP 401 Unauthorised".
If you do, and press F5 and see if it lets you in. If this happens then you just need to change your password and it should start working on your Desire.
Thanks for your answer st0kes, but it did not help. I can access OWA without any problem. I have tried to set a new password but that did not help either.

Lumia 640XL dual sim damned

So, i copied an provxml file to the phone and hardreset it. Phone has gone to sad face. Meanwhile, i unlocked bootloader, enabled root access, disabled root acces, lockedback bootloader. And flashed to wp8.1 using wdrt. The problem is that my phone was impersonated as lumia950xl before to get last insider builds.. And after reflash i got Reset Protection recovery key screen. After i erased phone from my account and got the key, i cant recover phone. I fear to make emergency call and go to store to activate my account on phone.
Interesting....
I have an FRP locked 640 XL I bought off ebay for parts. I think I know what you mean by, "I fear to make emergency call and go to store to activate my account on phone." Microsoft seems at this point the only entity that can disable reset protection on the chip.

No, you don't. Make the call, activate video call, store will open to install skipe, there in store settings page you can insert your credentials.

How about just bypassing it?
Just how? There is no return. Im talking about first screen, where it ask for key or account. After inserting account , no login

Maybe this is your solution
Bypassing is the first step. I have not yet found a way to disable it...if even possible.

Upgrade to W10M...If you push the cabs for W10M to it via iutool you might actually bypass the FRP setup...that has happened to me before. But if you hard reset again on W10M unsuccessful to disable FRP it will show again.
A full list of cabs for lumia 640 xl dual sim rm_1067?
Download the wim file here
Open it in 7zip. Extract the folder for 640-640XL to a directory and push the cabs. You might even be able to just avoid all the work and download Microsofts otcupdater tool and use it to upgrade back to W10M...either or will work.

Phone started to download. Now at gears spinning.
@augustinionut
So the Skype trick...it is a bypass only right?
Phone updated to 10.0.13080.107 I passed first screen, apps don't open, configuration neither... i will try to update thru otcupdater.
Needed to manually install phonesettings.appx.

If there is an FRP trip on your device, it will return but not until a Factory Reset/Hard Reset. But at least you get to use your phone again...
Edit: Oh and if you decide to try to remote wipe your phone once your account is back on. Don't just in case you have the same problem as me. My phone is FRP locked and bypassed. I was able to login with my account and add the phone to my account. One day was messing around and decided to test the remote wipe feature. It worked, sort of... There is some bug or an issue now that every time I sign into the phone to add it back to my account it immediately remote wipes it again. WP8 won't do this though since it does not run a compatible verison of the OS to use such features on the 640 XL.
I'm goying thru the second update
Tomorrow i will look here https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/dn757558(v=vs.85).aspx using WPinternals.
EDIT:
Third update now...
EDIT2: i installed reset protection cab. But strange, cant reset phone, no internet connection . And language don't stick, it changed to default allways.
Still fighting https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/mobile/reset-protection
So today i repeated all stuff. I reseted user data meanwhile the bootloader was unlock and root access activated. The sad face appeared again. So....flash to wp8.1.... and all from the beginning.

Need desperate help. Unlocking Huawei y6 pro (SLAL02)

After factory reset I'm stuck at google account screen which I don't remember since it wasn't my main google account.
After a lot of research I've tried the talkback->youtube but chrome or any browser doesn't open so I can't use it
Tried the gmail path but whole menu' doesn't show up, only account section and no options
Tried the keyboard "assist" but google search bar doesn't appear.
Tried to flash stock rom from sdcard but fails at 5%
Phone wasn't rooted and everything is stock
How do I get past google account screen? Is it as good as bricked?
UPDATE: I managed to get past FRP through the stock email app exploit! I cannot post links however due to forum restrictions.
In case anyone needs:
1. Follow guide with normal talkback->share link->email(select stock email app instead of Gmail)
1.1 Create a hotmail or whatever account on an other device.
2. Sign in, compose email, attach file from sd card (QuickShortcutMaker apk, you can google it)
3. Send email! you can send to random address
4. Go to outgoing, open sent email and open attached file and install
5. After install open and scroll down to "Huawei Home", open first option, then tap "try"
6. You now have access to whole phone, go to Settings->Accounts and delete all accounts
7. Go back to settings->backup&restore->Factory reset and confirm
8. Phone is now clean of FRP, enjoy!
A friend of mine asked about this. It's never a problem I've had, but thank you for sharing the solution. This could come in handy!
