can some one please give me upgrade instructions 2005 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

can some one please give me upgrade instructions from win2003se to windows mobile 2005 by the way i have an axim x50v
and thanks

As far as I know the current leaked Windows Mobile 2005 version does not run on anything other than a Himalaya.
All other Pocket PCs are not supported yet.
But on today's M$ Official Announcement of WM2005 in Las Vegas, M$ stated that Windows Mobile 2005 will be supported by Dell and Dell will soon offer an upgrade path to the Axim X50 line.
Search google for the link.

ipaq 3870 Rom update

Hi
I´ve a ipaq 3870 that i upgrade from windows ce 3.0 rom 2.0 to windows ce 4.2 rom 4.0 eng.Can anyone tell me if it´s possible to get another upgrade to windows mobile 2003 se or beter windows mobile 2005?
Thank´s for an answer
Not sure about 2003SE (probably not) but you definitely can't upgrade to WM5.
P.S.
It's actually Windows Mobile 2002 / 2003 / 2003 SE / 5. Win CE is the base fro the system but it is a different thing.
Hi
Thank´s to replay. My question is supported on web page http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/articles/wm2005-magneto-en.shtml
and "Currently the OS is called Windows Mobile 5. Most likely by the release Magneto will have the commercial name Windows Mobile 2005. The system requirements are as follows: 32 MB of Flash ROM, 64 MB of RAM. As for the processor, the old requirements are valid, i.e. Magneto will have acceptable performance at 200 MHz."
regards
Nice of them to put system requirements on it for the consumer
The thing is WM 5 is not a generic OS like desktop windows so you can't just download and install it. HP has to create an image for your specific device and they only offer upgrades for the 27xx and 47xx series devices.
You can check their site. If an update exists it will be there.

Axim X50 Mobile 5.0 upgrade - LE and ME versions? What's the difference?
le or me
one is for the middle level unit and the other for the basic model. not sure if the rom is any different.
you give the dell rom (.img) here. i may have bricked my x50, but can't tell until i get the wm5 bootloader and os image in the .nbo format. can you post that version?
thx
Getting the bootloader is easy. I use a special program that I found on the internet a while back. As for the os nb0 file, I already have some nb0 files for the X50(mid) that work over at aximsite (I just have to migrate them to a new server because of problems with the current one).
x50 wm5 upgrade
i really need some help getting this to work. it turns out that i found a A01 wm05 and tried to flash it. the bootloader bar at the top said "SD Image Update A02", but i went ahead anyway. after the update process, i hard reset, but it's still a brick. the unit will go into A02 diagnostic mode, and the hardware seems to check out so i don't think it's totally fried. i'm dazed and confused on where to go from here. any suggestions?
is there a windows mobile 6 for the x50 not the x50v version?

There is no WM6 for the X50(mid) or X50(low) yet. I will make it once I get done with the WM5 A03 rom.

Any luck with that WM6 X50(mid) rom?
This device is anything but abandoned, i'm looking for the upgrade from 2003 to WM 5 and anywhere to find it, no one has the files or if they have, don't wamt to share...

[HELP] Dell Axim x50v ROMs

I have a Dell Axim x50v that is currently on Windows Mobile 2003SE. I want to upgrade it to WM5 but for some reason I can't find any downloads for a nb0 file that isn't on a website that's been gone for a while such as RapidShare. Does anybody have an upgrade file lying around? It'd be really appreciated!

UNLESS asked to do so, PLEASE don't PM me regarding support. Sent using The ClaRetoX Forum App on my Enigma Machine {aenigma = Latin for "Riddle"}.
I have the dell axim x51v which comes wit wm5 and I got to say, don't upgrade, wm5 is terrible, upgrade to wm6.1 instead, one of unofficial fan made roms.
