Wireless sync
I have read those, but i meant with Wifi, I have a wireless router that works with MAC filtering, my pda is on the list and it can surf the web at home, but i thought about syncing when i am downstairs in the kitchen or living room, i could do this with my UX50, turn on Wifi and hotsync wirelessly. So i went through the Active syn and it seems to have this feature i see it, but i can;t configure correctly. Please any help will be good.

Why dont you use Bluetooth to sync with your PC for surf web wireless ?
This way is quite good.

no way to synchronize via AS 4.2...

First, I know this is no only Artemis case (I had the same with Mio p550)
Nerthetheless I hope someone can advise sth..
I cant synchronize via AS 4.2 when being at home. I can do this with the same laptop at work with no problems.
What is the difference home/work ? really don't know...At both location I have connection to the net - although at home this is wireless, no proxy.
At work - cable + proxy
Any advice much appreciated. TIA

In case I am misunderstanding you, please let me know, but it seems that your problem is that you are attempting to sync Window Mobile 5 device over a wifi connection when you are at home. Wifi sync was removed from Activesync 4.x when WM5 came out due to security concerns from business users syncing over unsecured wireless networks. So basically, if you want to sync wirelessly, you need to use bluetooth, not wifi. You can still use the wifi on your Artemis to surf the net, but not to sync.
Maybe someday Microsoft will bring wifi syncing back, but untill then you either have WM5 and USB or bluetooth sync or WM2003 or lower and the wifi sync option. Hope this helps!
At both location (home, work) I connect HTC to PC via standard sync cable (mini USB). It perfectly works at work, but no at home.
What I meant by having wifi is that my laptop is connected to the internet at home via wifi, and at work via cable. This is the only difference I can notice, hence still no idea why it doesn't want to synchronize at home

Activesync with No Partnership

Hi Everyone.
Ive got my O2 XDA Orbit configured to sync my mail and Calendar etc from my Exchange Server at work. If I use GPRS or WIFI, this works a treat. However, I have a couple of locations where WIFI isnt available, but a USB connection to a PC is. Rather than setup a partnership at these places (I dont need to sync anything locally with the PCs), I want to use the internet connection on the PC to connect. Im sure that with my old EXEC, when I connected it to the USB port, it went right ahead and synced through the internet with Exchange, but this machine never seems to start doing so.
I have disabled partnerships on the PCs so that I dont have to click "Guest" each time I connect it. when the USB is connected, Activesync will not work at all on the Orbit.
I know youre all cleverer than me, does anyone know why this happens?

How to connect to internet on a laptop?

I have no problem to connect to the internet (to update weather, news etc) when I connect my P3300 to my desktop (which connect to the internet through a hardwire modem and a hardwire router). When I connect the P3300 to my laptop (the laptop is connect to internet through the WIFI rounter), I then cannot update those weather or news in my P3300. What setup do I need to change in the P3300 in order to be able to get to the internet through the laptop's WIFI connection? Thank you for any help.
Should happen automatically if you have a standing ActiveSync connection. No special settings needed. On the other hand - Check your firewall. Maybe some soft on the laptop is preventing your PDA from getting access to the internet!
Thanks Theonly1....one other thing though, I am using Vista ultimate x32....
not tried this yet but....just plug in and it will recognise the phone as a modem or GSM connection for internet surfing on the laptop?
Thanks again
Thanks for the feedback
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. I have try to disable the firewall, but it still cannot connect to the internet. By the way, the laptop us window XT. If I enable the WIFI on the P3300, then it can connect to the internet by it's own WIFI. But if I disable it's own WIFI, then it did not connect to the internet throught the laptop's WIFI connection. I think there must be some setting in the network connection, so that it will be able to use the laptops WIFI and get information through it. But I do not know how. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again

PC Internet Pass Through

Sorry, I really have searched everything I can think of. I have looked all over, I am just trying to find out what the regedit is to use the internet connection on my computer via usb on my t-mobile dash. I am running WM6.1 and have no signal over here for my phone. internet on the computer yes, but dash no. Does anyone know or know where I can look for it? I promise I have searched.

hook a wifi router up =)
other than that maybe put a bluetooth receiver on the pc and connect the phone to it?
I'm useing kavanas 6.1 rom i tweaked it a little but point being when i plug my dash into my comp and it syncs with active sync my phone accesses my computers internet connection which i think its designed to do. how do your internet and active sync settings look like?
under your USB to PC settings under connections do you have the Enable advanced network functionality checked?
Use ActiveSync to "pass through" this computer. That means the connected device can use the computer's network connection as if it were its own. You can use this feature to perform tasks such as downloading non-Outlook e-mail messages, to connect directly with Microsoft Exchange, or to browse the Internet.
Important Note For additional security, disable network bridging on the PC (specifically, bridging to a Remote NDIS adapter) before connecting to the PC to pass though to the Internet or a network. For more information on network bridging, see Windows Help on the PC.
Click Connection Settings.
Select Open ActiveSync when my device connects.
In the This computer is connected to list, select a connection to which this computer should connected when passing through ActiveSync.
thats from activesyncs help.
i guess i never realized it did that...yet i do it everyday...when its plugged in, edge doesnt even try to connect, it defaults to the pc
Thanks

Maximum number of bluetooth connections?

When I'm in the car I have the TP2 connected using bluetooth:
-with the car as a car kit
-with my laptop to share my internet connection
-with my laptop to synchronize my outlook items
This all works, but not at the same time. So if I get in the car the head set mode is switched on and I can share my internet connection. As soon as I startup ActiveSync to synchronize the bluetooth connection for internet sharing is closed.
If I want to start internet sharing again I get the message that ActiveSync needs to be closed before I can share my internet connection.
At work (obviously I don't have headset mode for the carkit switched on) it is possible to have both ActiveSync and the internet connection over blue tooth at the same time.
Any idea to why this is happening? I would think perhaps 3 bluetooth devices can not be active at the same time.
With sharing internet you mean internet to your phone, or internet from phone to your laptop? Makes a diffrence, because internet to your phone and synching is the same bluetooth connection.
I mean sharing my internet connection off the phone to the laptop. This has been working fine on my mda vario III (Tytn II)
And again something new: if the phone is just lying on my desk it is impossible to have internet shared and Active Sync connected at the same time.
As soon as I connect the device to a mini USB (either another computer or the charger) it is able to have both connections over bluetooth.
With my device I can connect to max 2 connections. one i use for my mbw-150 watch exclusive and the other data connection with my notebook. If i activate a third for example to another phone the connection with my watch is seperated.
