I backuped up my PDA2k then I did a hard reset.
How do I get active synch to restore it? It wants to setup a new relationship. I cancelled that went to the restore menu, and tried to restore it but it said "different mobile device" or something
So then I setup a new partnership, but now when I try to restore it says "The selected storage file is not valid"
Anyone have the procedure for backup/hard reset/restore?
Uninstall ActiveSync and reinstall. That will manage.
Thanks will give that a bash

You have to make sure you have set the Regional Settings in Settings/System as they were before after the hard reset. Then softreset and connect with ActiveSync as a 'Guest'. Then you can then Restore. Do not setup a new partnership!

Hello
I let my wife use my phone last night and now (may just be coincidence) whenever i try to access just about anything under settings I get an error saying setting could not be opened.
Any ideas?
Thanks
edit
I am running the tmobile wm6 upgrade
I have gotten this a few times, you will have to reset your Dash and then resync it with activesync.
reset
how do i reset the dash
Go under start, and in the applications folder there is something that says clear storage, click on that
just so you know that will completely wipe out anything you have on your phone. i would try everything else first.
The only other thing to try is to turn off and turn the phone back off. I called TMO support on this, that is what they had me do.
Hi all,
Since re-installing activesync my PC will not pair with my PDA. The PDA connects as a guest and I can use activesync to install software and browse files, but I cannot sync!
I believe a sync wizard is supposed to open but this doesn't happen.
I really hope you can help as I currently have no calendar or contact data on the PDA.

Open AtiveSync with phone NOT connected, goto "File" and "remove portable device" (or similar, I've italian version, I don't know exacly string in english).
If there is an old configuration, in this way you'll remove it, then it must start the wizard... (I hope...)
Hi!
Thanks for the reply! There are no existing partnerships in Activesync, because it is a new installation!

I thought it was a re-install... You can try removing all drivers and ActiveSync and reinstalling all, it seems an istallation problem or a wrong ActiveSync version...
Try to download ActiveSync newly
If you have any kind of firewall software try to disable it...
Then, if activesync works, you have to set up new firewall rules...
Did any of these methods work? did you do something else to make it work??
This is how I got it working.....
go to settings/connections, open USB-PCand untick "the enable advanced network configuration"
if this does not work, and if your trying to sync to an outlook server then in settings/connection, choose connections, chose advanced tab, select networks, then ensure both have chosen the same network ( ie my Work Network). On the chosen network chose edit, and you should see a Proxy Setting tab.. Choose this and ensure the only top box is ticked ( this network connects.....)
worked for me... dunno why?
yeah try xda-boj's one it should work fine
start\settings\connections\usb to pc and uncheck 'enable advanced network functionality'
Thanks for the suggestions. I know I wasn't clear in my earlier posts, so:
- I had Activesync 4.5 installed, and it worked.
- Then file transfer from the PDA to the PC stopped working (the files appeared to transfer, but did not appear on the PC)
- So, I uninstalled Activesync 4.5, downloaded it again, and reinstalled it.
- After the re-install, Activesync would not create a partnership with my PDA running WM6.
- The partnership wizard does not start!
- I don't get any error message; in fact nothing happens, except that the PDA connects as a "guest", so I am able to browse files and install software but not actually sync.
- I have tried: disabling Windows Firewall; disabling Avast! anti-virus; checking that all connection protocols are enabled in the "network connections" control panel; re-installing Activesync again; and finally I got the same error on another PC.
- I haven't yet tried unchecking the "Enable advanced network functionality" box - I'll try that as soon as I get home tonight.
Beyond uninstalling Activesync, is there anything else I should be doing to start with a clean system?
Thanks again,
K
I have the same problem.
You can try reinstall the active sync app (repair option) and then reconnect and uncheck "the enable advanced network configuration".
I am doing this evey time
I've tried unchecking "Enable advanced network functionality", but that doesn't solve it!

Where can I find this option?
K
start->settins->USD to PC-> Enable advanced network functionality
Oh, OK. I'd already done that! Keep coming in with suggestions though!
epic touch flashed to page plus everything worked for about 6 wks then I downloaded Identity Safe Password Manager its uses its own browser and I didn't like using it so I stupidly deleted it. Now when I use the internet it goes to the sprint site "deviceselfservice.sprint.com:8000/" says "web page not available". I went back to the place that flashed it to page plus they reflashed it , thne i tried re installing then uninstall the Identity Safe Password Manager this internet still doesn't work. calls, mms, and wifi still work. Anyone have any ideas ?
Sound like the application modified your hosts file and/or proxy settings. Is this the Norton thingy? I'm not familiar with it. And it sounds like you may not be sure what you did or what happened.
A simple solution; use one of sfhub's one-clicks (full reset) to completely set up your phone as stock. You can back up your stuff as follows:
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history. Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Then flash sfhub's full reset Odin one-click package. Reload your apps and data and it should be good to go.
If that doesnt work, get your MSL and do ##72786# (assuming stock dialer) and enter MSL. Select "OK" on "Reset?"
This is a DSA reset. Your device will reboot and provision itself.
If thats still a no go, make a backup of anything you dont want lost and do a real reset: ##786# enter MSL and select reset.
This will even erase "USB Storage" ... Have a backup...
Edit: Do you know your MSID?
If in about phone/status it doesn't show your MSID correctly you can they this first.
##>yourMSL<#
Choose "edit"
Touch here
Enter correct MSID.
My Google Account in SHP stopped fetching mails two days ago, push IM for GTalk stopped around the same time. I''ve got a notification reading "Google downloading" (or something like that) stuck in my pull down bar since then. Now, I wanted to try to just delete the account and set it up anew, but...
If I try deleting the account, I get 2 error messages, one after another, reading: "connection error" and "service not available"
If I try switching of Push, I get "connection error" and "unknown error, try again".
For changing any other options for the Google accounts, error messages are similar.
Now, is there anything that I can do without resetting or full flashing the phone? Like, using sTune to get rid of the malfunctioning account.
Try restarting your phone...if the problem still exist try to disconnect your phone from both 3G & Wifi then delete that account....it shouldn't give you any errors if it is disconnected because it won't be trying to use push
Best Regards

Good idea, thank you! Tried it and still didn't work, though :-/. I fear I'll have to da a full flash / master reset again.
Please follow the described process below to solve your problem.
1. Menu => Email => Accounts => Settings => Email accounts => Delete account => (select/touch "Gmail") Delete.
Then return phone to main page.
2. Menu => Settings => Internet =>
a. Clear cache
b. Delete cookies
c. Delete saved ID/password
d. Delete database
Then return phone to main page.
3. Restart phone.
4. Register your Gmail account again.
Best of luck.

Thank you! I already resetted the phone (did too many experiments anyways...), so I can't tell you wether that would help. I'll keep it in mind for next time (hope that doesn't happen, though).
I"m attempting to use the Backup program add-on to automatically back up my Kodi installation to my Dropbox account, but keep getting "Script failed" error messages. I've followed Rob Weber's instructions on GitHub, I created a Dropbox "app key" and "secret" and input that into Backup's settings. I've accessed my log files to get the authorization code for Dropbox, and after going to the generated URL, Dropbox tells me "Success!" that I've connected my backup file to Dropbox. But when I go into the Backup add-on and try and do a backup, I get a "Script Failed" message. When the scheduled time comes to do a backup, again, I just get a "Script Failed" message.
Has anyone got the Backup add-on working successfully these days? Any advice on where I might be going wrong?
Doesn't appear to be a Dropbox-specific problem, as I was able to successfully connect with my Mac and designate that as the destination for the backup files. But Backup still throws up an error when initiating a backup.
Is anyone having success with this program add-on? Trying to figure out if it's something with my system or the add-on has issues.
In case anyone in the future has this same issue, I found that unchecking the option to compress the older archives solved the issue of Backup throwing an error message. Seems to be working well now, though I get a message saying "Not all files were backed up." Not sure what that's about, but…
