Switch different Radio/Band in SX66 - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Can anyone show me how to switch to different Radio/Band in Siemens SX66? I couldn't find the place to set in Sx66.
Thanks in advance

How to use SX66 phone outside of USA
I guess my question was not clear. Here is what I need help for. I am planing to use SX66 unlock phone when traveling to China. Do I need to set different radio(900 Mhz or 1800 Mhz whatever number will be in China) or the phone will know the band and set it automatically? I could not find where to set in SX66 phone. Can anyone show me how to do it?
Thanks a lot

You do not have to set it yourself.
The phone will automatically search for networks on any band.

GSM Frequeny

I have a Orange SIM card which I got in Israel, I am now in Canada and that SIM works fine on my friends Nokia 6600, but when I try to use it with my XDA IIs I can't find any networks or anything. I am guessing its the GSM frequecy although the phone supports all of them. Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get the SIM to work here? Does anyone know how to manually select a GSM frequency?
XDA IIs
ROM Version: 1.40.00 WWE
Radio Version: 1.15.00
Protocol Version: 1337.45
Hello psytech,
I believe you're roaming. Sometimes, you really cannot just plug your sim card then voila its working. If you are roaming, most of the time you really have to manually select the network.
anyway, i'm currently using windows mobile 2005, and no longer using windows mobile 2003 SE. i hope i could still help you or atleast you can see the pattern on how to do it.
here what you do:
1. click on the signal strength icon (the icon located on the upper right most portion of your screen just beside the speaker icon)
2. a dialogue box will appear with a clickable 'settings' button (located on lower left part of the dialogue box.), click the 'settings'
3. you will then see 3 tabs on the bottom part of the screen, 'phone', 'services', 'network'. click on 'network'.
4. you should find something like 'find network' button there, then just but before you click on it, choose 'manual' for network selection.
the rest is self explanatory, i hope i was able to help you. cheers!
You say your orange sim works fine on your friends nokia but does not work in your IIs.
Is it possible that your IIS device is sim locked as in will only work on the O2 network in the country you got it from.
If so unlock it via wiki (link in sig)
not it
I forgot to mention that the SIM worked fine in Isreal, my original SIM is orange (I do have an account with) I just can't get support cause I didn't buy the phone from them (capitalists).
About the network search. Thats what I've been doing for the last couple of days but I can not find ANY networks at all. which is what leads me to believe that its a GSM frequency problem.
What happens if you put your friends sim in your phone
GSM in Canada is generally 1900 http://www.gsmworld.com/roaming/gsminfo/cou_ca.shtml
doesn't work either
My friend's SIM doesn't work on my phone either. If canada is 1900, how can I make sure that my phone is currently using 1900. (I know it supports it, but how do I actually see that its actually scanning with it?)
What happens if you go to Settings->Phone->Network and then change Network Selection to Manual.
You should then get a list of networks. This will list all networks even if you cannot connect to them.
[edit] This has already be suggested earlier in the thread
If you do get some networks then the only reason that I can think of that you are not connecting is that under Prefered Networks you have a network selected that your carrier does not have a roaming agreement with.
Check your provider's website to see who they have agreements with.
no networks
My provider (Orange) has agreements with Rodgers, but my problem is that I am not listing ANY networks, I tried manual and even added the Rodgers network to my favorite networks, but when I try to search for networks I can't find any, I just get a blank window. This is very odd to me and I've never heard of anyone with that problem.
Like I've mentioned before, I updated my windows to TuMa 1.4 and my radio to 1.1.15. If there's anything else I need to do or anything I may not have done when I updated my network please tell me.
btw when I installed that TuMa windows I change my ID thingy to Tmobile.
Problem solved
Attenttion everyone:
It has come to my attention that there is a problem in the Band Selection CAB when it comes to certian cellular providers.
The problem so far appears on a Cellular One network that only supports 850Mhz. When the North American Option is choosen in the Band tab, the phone can not find a network to register on. I'm not quite sure why this happens yet, but there is a solution to fix.
http://relaysgoldens.com/sx66/ext_roms/BandSelect-fix.CAB
By installing this CAB, it provides a fourth option on the band tab, "Reset Value to Zero".
By selecting this option, the phone will be reset to it's default state, and will work normally.
I've trapped this as a bug in the 1.40.124 extrom and will be working to figure this out.
Note: the band selection setting is persistant, and will not be reset even if you downgrade the ROMs on the phone. If you are experiencing this problem, the ONLY way to reset the value is to use the CAB above.
-Chris
P.S. I've also updated the 1.40.124 RAR file on the website to include the updated bandselect CAB.

I found that at http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53121 and it worked.

Manuel network selection

On my Ipaq 6515 with WM2003 I could change my network selection from automatic to manuel and in doing this it would give me a list of cell towers in the area and I would be able to choose what cell tower I wanted to connect to. I would like to be able to do this on this phone as well because at my home I only get one bar on my phone and on my Ipaq I could change it to manuel and pick what cingular cell tower I wanted and I would have a full signal
As far as I know the problem with network selection is not in the phone but in the Cingular SIM card. I have a TyTN (unlocked and unbranded) which alows me to choose the network when I insert into my PDA any SIM card except for that of the Cingular. As soon as I insert the Cingular SIM card the Network selection drop-down menu disappears. If I'm not mistaken, this issue was discussed on this forum and on one of the Cingular forums. Unfortunately I can't provide you with the link as I don't remember where exactly I read this information.
Well thanks for the reply I will see if I can find that thread I didnt know if it was just something to do with wm05 or 06 I also used a cingular simcard in my Ipaq as well crazy isnt anyway thanks alot

[Q] Changing the frequency of the HTC Desire HD?

Is it possibe to change the frequency that the Desire HD uses?
I just got an HTC Desire HD but it apparently doesn't use the same frequency as my other phone did so I'm stuck on insanely slow EDGE.
I know this request may sound a little odd but I'm desperate to change it.
At the moment the frequency is: HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
And I need to get to: 850/1900MHz
I saw that you can apperently flash "Radios", is this what is needed? What exactly would flashing a Radio do?
If anyone could help me here it would be GREATLY appreciated, I mean what's a smartphone without 3G internet?
Edit: I just realized that both Rogers and the HTC Desire HD share the 1900 frequency, is there any way I could enable the 3G on that frequency?

radio frequencies are "hard coded" into the cpu chipset so cannot be changed...
I dont know if this is what you are after but when youre in telephone mode,
dial *#*#4636#*#*
A menu will come up, choose phone information, then scroll down, you will see "set preferred network type" . There you can change it.
Goodluck

I don't know I'm sorry, hopefully one from the guru's will come and answer your question. In the mean time, why don't you test it...

[Q] Change 3G band to European GSM 900/1800

A family member gifted me a Galaxy S4, however it is the SGH-M919. I currently live in Europe and 3G bands in my region are GSM 900/1800. At the moment I can't access 3G and any other type of data for that matter (LTE is not supported here). Is there a way to change T-mobile 950 and 1900 bands to my region ones?
Thanks for taking your time to answer
Sadly not.
Since the radio does not support those frequencies for hsdpa

So there's no way to fix it?
Hello Flex,
I have the same phone "Samsung S4 SGH-M919 - Tmobile" and I live in Hungary, it works fine with me all you have to do is just to switch form WCDMA/GSM to any other option "like GSM only" then back to WCDMA/GSM as a kind of refresh and the 3G will work fine after that, you can find this inside Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network mode, but unfortunately you have to do this every time you restart your device.
There is also another alternative solution is to reset the Access point names to default, you can find this inside Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
to be honest I don't know the reason of this error, but try what I described and tell me if it works with you.
Good Luck
Well. I have the exact same phone and have tried several ROMs, either custom or stock and basebands also. Nothing seems to work. The very few users who reported it was working didn't provide much evidence of it. Even Wikipedia says no 3G 900MHz availability for this phone. A simple edit to NV 1877 values won't solve it. I've tried that too.

[Q] Select LTE frequency band manually

Hello,
Before buying this ZenFone2, I had a Samsung S4, which had a secret menu that could be accessed through the phone dialpad to allow viewing and selecting frequency bands.
I would like to know if there is a similar test menu on the ZenFone2 that will allow me to manually select which LTE frequency band the phone is forced to use?
Thanks!

Thanks, but that's not quite what I'm looking for. I want to manually select the frequency band, not just choose LTE.
Here is a screenshot of what that looks like on a Samsung phone:
I am sure that I have seen info on this for ZF2, but now I can't find it....
I hope that by bumping this thread someone who knows will shed some light, obviously it won't allow us to select a band that is not enabled, but at least seeing which bands are enabled in a particular phone would be good!

I did try the code yes, and it brings up a menu called Testing with the following items:
Device Info
Battery Info
Useage Stats
WiFi Info
But I cannot see anywhere in these options that tells me which bands are enabled.
