O2 ROM Update, anyone found the Onscreen button for switching between Landscape and Portrait mode?
Try SPB Pocket Plus or VSR Utility
The onscreen button for screen rotation is only available on the Active page it looks like the PDA with a light blue screen next to the wirless antenna
I have no idea about O2. With Orange you have it in the Settings/System/Touch Screen/General. But it's for the whole system and not just for the running apps...

Look at the bottom of the screen, next to the Blue box.
It's right there.

i mapped the function to one of the buttons, to flip whenever i want
I just use the O2 button that's on the thumbboard.

I've now got my XDA IIs and let it put O2 activeon to start with.
had a look,
then hard reset and got rid of it.
great
any problem is, no tool to go from portrait to lanscape screen orientation.
how does one get this back?
Select start, settings, system tab then select "screen" botom RH icon from here you can select screen oriantation - I know its not an on screen short cut but at least it gets it back for you, I wouldn't put the O2 active on the device it caused me nothing but trouble, I fail to understand why O2 sell the device with a rubish software load - Mike
Aother way if you want an on screen icon is to load up Omega One Batery Pack Pro. This will put the battery strength meter back onto the screen as well as other useful information, but in addition it loads "programe Bar" from here you can have short cuts to practically anything on the device - I have just tried it so I know it works - Mike
I've mapped my t-zones key (3rd from the left on the bottom row) to flip orientation.
Perhaps you could try that.
PHM tools does a free tool as well.

tap start - settings - personal - buttons.
from there u can reset hard keys to what u want. i have the home button stored to this, the first button above the call button.
I now own the Orbit. I used to own the Wizard so am used to lanscape screen. I also tried some WM6 roms, namely Faria's which has a little icon at the bottom tray in the today screen that rotates the screen. Can anyone point me to such a programme? It would be so useful as I use landscape mode for my GPS in car.
thanks
Don't know about your icon thingy, but I use my start menu button to rotate my screen, double press. "AE Button plus" I find to be the most comprehensive button mapper, and I have my orbit really nicely set up for one handed use. Double tap explorer button now will launch tomtom, ok button really closes stuff, etc.

See the sixth bullet under "how to"...not exactly what you want tho.
I used Pocketmax Screen Guard back in the days of WM2003SE
But I have been looking for a similar program or a way of mapping one of the keys on my Hermes to lock the screen.
Anybody any idea's on how to do this.

So... what do you mean? Pressing the power button for a second or two does that now - put's it in standby. That renders the screen basically "locked". Do you mean something else, or is that what you were looking for.
Okay I should have been more clearer :
I want to Map say for example the Camera button, so that when pressed it locked the screen the same way as tapping the Device Lock on the actual screen.
So i can do it without touching the screen itself.
Problem solved :

Hey woody, I have been looking for a way to 'unlock' my device without touching the screen or sliding out my keyboard to hit '*'. If went so far as to dumping my rom to look at the device lock app. Does VJ's tool allow you assign a hardware button for 'unlock'? Thks.
I think it is only lock.
Pocket master has that function but currently only for wm2003se
Hey,
is there a program that allows me to swtich to landscape and back when I want it?
Like when pressing a button it changes to landscape, when I press it again it goes back to normal

You could use AE Buttons Plus and assign any key to rotate the screen.
Nevermind, it's a standard feature if you go to Start - Settings - Buttons
and select <Rotate screen> or sth, I have a dutch phone
One difference though, with AE it's possible to rotate the screen not only 90 but even 180 and 270 degrees.
I'm able to switch from landscape to portrait and vice-versa by holding the left soft key for a few seconds. I'm running one of Jack's ROMs though, so he might have added something that enables this.
hi folks, yesterday i stumbled upon this nice piece of software called iperov's Pocket guitar http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482726
It's essentially a virtual guitar that you can strum and pick. The problem is, i have to hold some sort of hardware button to play the chord and we know Rhodium don't have that much hardware button
i tried to open the keyboard, but then the screen goes to landscape and i had a hard time setting up the chord (check out the vid on the thread to see what i mean).
Now when i had my Xperia, u can assign one of the button to rotate the screen manually, but it doesn't seems to be available in the rhodium.
Is there any way to toggle the screen manually from landscape to portrait, vice versa? even with the keyboard out.
I thank you for all your response
Edit: solved. Sorry for the waste of space guys
