I'm wondering if there is a way for me to check my imap server and only get email that is NEW/UNREAD rather than all email. I can get and send mail now, but I hate downloading ALL mail.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Tom
Not with the default IMAP client. You need a third-party IMAP client that respects the \Seen and/or \Recent flags.

I have set up my email account to receive html email format... when receiving the email it has the right size but it is not html... there is an option in the view menu... GET HTML but this option is disabled (greyed out)
any ideea anyone?
I have a spv m3100 with WM6 BE2.0
As far as I am aware, this is only available with Exchange 2007 on the other end.

I believe the server needs to be running Exchange 2007 for html emails to work. Either that or microsoft live mail via, but you need to signed in to you live messenger account. Maintaining a constant connection can be a bit flaky at the best of times

POP3 accounts also download as HTML - you don't just get it when using Exchange 2007. If you're using push email and the server that's pushing is not running Exchange 2007 - you're screwed as far as getting it in HTML format. If your problem is that mails downloaded via a POP3 server are not being received as HTML, that's something different entirely.....
Mark.
so... the facts are like this... email received through pop3 account are in html format, but the emails form active sync do not show up in html format...

Correct!.....well, emails from ActiveSync will be in HTML if the server pushing them is running Exchange 2007; free push emails services like Mail2Web, 4SmartPhone etc. are all based on Exchange 2003, so won't be HTML.
Has that helped, or just confused things even more
Mark.
You can also get HTML mail via IMAP... a half way ish house between POP & Push Email!
Hi
I don't know if its possible by I need to send calendar invites via IMAP as I never use activesync (I sync via SyncML with our server for contact/tasks/calendar).
All calendar invites are always put in the activesync outbox. Is there anyway to re-direct them to the IMAP account I have set up? Is there another mail application I should be using?
Thanks
Jonathan
Is there an option to setup SSL IMAP syncing with google for mail? I don't see an option anywhere.
I did find this article that discusses how to set it up but I don't have these options on my EVO.
Website is:
knowyourcell.com
Link is:

Figured it out. I was using the Gmail client instead of the mail client. I think the Gmail client uses a push technology? Wonder if it is using SSL?
Hello
Facebook has his own mail server now, does anyone knows how to set up email server on phone? is it pop3 or imap? I tried to send mail from my Gmail account to facebook account and the mail arrived !
you can either receive a text or login on your phone at the moment to receive email.
but don't forget to change your privacy settings so you can receive them off external senders.
Facebook mail server...

Hello!
Did you configure email server's Facebook on your phone? I'm interested to know how.
Thank you.
I have my work email (MS Exchange) and Gmail working fine, though through their respective programs. The default email client doesn't seem to allow for POP3 email accounts. Is there a recommendation for a pop3 email client to use with my Comcast accounts? Thanks
I know you can add POP3 email accounts to Gmail, would that be a good solution?
You can send email out as that account, with a custom signature for each account. That is what I use to manage all my email accounts (3 work accounts, 3 personal accounts, and a school email account).
I Will give it a try, thanks
