How can I use the XDAII in its cradle with my laptop, as a webcam?
Write software to get the job done..
AFAIK it is not possible yet..
Can anyone suggest a supplier for the above connector? I intend to get the TomTom 5 kit at some point but figured I should use what I have for a while first for the price of a cable.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. Looks like the first one would work as the others are all for IPAQ type machines and not the mini usb type needed for the i-Mate JAM.

Hi ppl just wondering with all the more smarter ppl than me here.I am looking to buy a GPS reciever for my BlueAngel.
I am looking at this one.
HP iPAQ Bluetooth GPS Receiver

at first glance i would say no cause its for a iPAQ, but it is bluetoth and a lot of different BT stuff work with BA's, So any help info ppl could give me would be great....
BTW great site love it.
What GPS....
The GPS branded as HP bla bla is an obsolete type with old SiRF II. chipset. It is slow and not very sensitive at all.
Better obtain http://www.expansys.com.au/product.asp?code=127067 it is more expensive (only a little bit) but much more reliable, stable, sensitive etc. I am using this GPS with my BlueAngel flawlessly.
Or try one of these http://www.expansys.com.au/product.asp?code=130593 it works great with the devices I use incl the BA. - Mike
Hi have the Globalsat BT 338(bluetooth) - it's very small, last for ages on the battery and very sensitive (Sirf III).
Probably the best around, maybe not the cheapest but definitely worth it.
ok guys thanx for your help.
trying to find parts for my Qtek 1010 and I find it very difficult does this PDA have another technical name? A car charger adaptor for an Ipaq was connected to it although the same connector it is not wired the same so i was tols i killed the mainboard. Is this PDA unrepairable were can i buy a used one?
hope someone can assist my predicament.....Bigdin
the device is also known as
htc Wallaby / O2 Xda / Qtek 1010 / Qtek 1020 / Siemens SX56 / T-Mobile MDA/ Dopod 686

Bigdin,
The XDA I (Qtek 1010) and HP iPAQ 22 pin connectors are definitely wired differently.. But a brief connection of the iPAQ one shouldn't do too much damage.. That said.. The old XDAI mainboards are very cheap now (or grab a unit on eBay with a failed scren and DIY it)..
Last time we grabbed a new mainboard it was around $200 for a fully tested / guaranteed one.
Realistically though, it may be time to upgrade to a good, new / cheap little PDA like the HTC Touch..

Your Qtek's battery is probably in need of a replacement.. then there's the PPC 2002 ROM (or the rather flakey cooked ones around)..
Good luck with the dilemma..
