Thanks.

I have my fotoblog here, all photos taken with I-mate pda2k:

Thanks Pof !

fair quality
Same experience as I have with my QTEK 9090. Under good light conditions one can make decent photos, good for MMS messages, nothing else though. With poor light forget making photos, they are totally unacceptable.

The pic's pof privided are alot better than the one's taken in same light conditions with my SE P900 (same resolution as blue angel)

not bad. I would really appreciate if you could take some video and pictures when its is darker outside so we can really so how bad/good it looks in those conditions.
Ok asap i'll take some shots in the dark, but without flash i don't expect a great result.
I thought the quality is bad or maybe I'm so used to take a snapshot with a digital camera
I have a few photos on my blog with the phone taken inside my bedroom and the quality is quite grainy (low light conditions)
Yes, me too, i've a Lumix
But quality video are better than HTC HD or previous
the quality is VERY bad.... you can see some photos taken with my kaiser... a two year old phone.... they are better than those on tp2...

isnt it?
Well I also had a Kaiser and now a Tp2 since yesterday and I find the quality of the Tp2 pictures alot better then the Kaiser ones. But the most important part is, that the camera doesn't lag like the one on the kaiser. My Kaiser oney were horrible.

[Q] Green tint at photos from Defy camera

Hello,
I found green tint at photos, now it's much easier to find it when I have grey sky and snow.
I'm preatty sure you will find it yourself:
img89.imageshack.us/img89/8472/motoroladefysamplephoto.jpg
The strongest effect is in top right corner, but it affects other corners as well.
Also in center there is some big diffused purple spot.
To analize this issue I took few photos of A4 white sheet in daylight:
img695.imageshack.us/img695/72/motoroladefyresizedonly.jpg
To the same photo I added levels in Photoshop to better show the problem:
img844.imageshack.us/img844/7041/motoroladefywithlevels.jpg
I also compared it with Nokia 5800, my previous mobile with quite mid quality camera:
img831.imageshack.us/img831/7076/nokia5800resizedonly.jpg
You can see photo is all purplelike, but homogenic so it suggest that white balance didn't recognize correctly
white color. There is also green frame around picture, still smaller than in Defy.
The same picture with levels:
img510.imageshack.us/img510/1985/nokia5800withlevels.jpg
Seems to me pictures from Nokia 5800 are better than from Defy. Furthermore I had to modify exposure and chage level from 0 to 2
because picures straight from camera were too dark:
img513.imageshack.us/img513/8472/motoroladefysamplephoto.jpg
I'm not sure if this is "feature" of my particular phone or it affects all Defy phones and we have to live with it.
Could you do just simple test and take photo A4 sheet in daylight and share with effects here? Sheet should cover viewfinder fully.
Thank you in advance.....Rafal

Indoor photos

Can anyone with the phone take some photos indoors at night with a normal room light on (no flash) so we can see what the gain/noise is like?
maybe a comparison with a different phone or digital camera (no flash)?
Interested to see if it's good in low light
cheers
anyone?

Two photos, more or less the same position in a messy office.
One with lights on full, one with lights dimmed right down.
cheers, the low light one is awful, lots of grain and noise
so much noise that i almost couldn't hear myself!
Underexposed too, really not great.
Tempted to borrow a colleague's iPhone4 for comparison shots but I'm not sure I want to risk the wrath... ;-)

HTC Desire camera flash??

I have HTC Hero now and i have in plan to buy desire just because have camera flash, i am interested what quality of pictures taken with camera flash in the night, anyone can attach some pictures tnx
Pictures suck when light conditions are not ideal. If quality of images is of any concern, buy a photo camera.
Upgrade to a better phone. Desire is obsolete. Or better yet buy a digital camera if you intend to do night shots. I don't think smartphones are up to the task of taking decent night shots anyway.
tnx guys for fast replay but i saw night pictures from http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i900_omnia-2422.php its perfect.Does desire can do similar??
I wouldn't say that a 2008 era phone can do anything close to a perfect picture.
A simple rule of a thumb, there has to be a massive optics, lenses, in order a for picture to be good. You can't stuff that in a phone.
Yea, the desire's camera is decent at best in full light situations. It's quite terrible at night and in other low light situations. Even the latest phones aren't the greatest for low light pictures.
As is recommended above, if picture quality is a concern, buy an actual digital camera.
Cannot change the shutter speed (as no real shutter) or aperture so doesn't make for a good night camera.

I agree with all.Dont go for it.
Even Detail in brighter light can sometimes be a little washed out on the HTC Desire.Video quality is below average at the optimum settings. The amount of resolved detail is not enough, the colors are a bit washed-out, the there are some low contrast issues visible too. Also in light colored objects with a detail, HTC Desire produces a soft pinkish spot at the centre of the frame.
ok tnx for answers but what is best choice for 200$ like desire,i wish to have good camera and flash?

You can't have it.
You can have either a good camera, or a good phone
U svakom slučaju ako možeš nać Desire za 200$ a da je uščuvan, kupuj.
(in any case if you can have a preserved Desire for 200$, I think you should buy it)

What's everyone's experiences with the Z1 compact's camera/camcorder in lowlight?

automatic mode, flash off (to avoid any bleeding as described elsewhere), thumbnails are linked to the original files
Oh my these are amazing.
Did you have trouble focussing at all? I found that with my Nexus 5, the camera couldn't focus for **** in low light, and because of that, I had to snap multiples to get a good shot.
One last thing, how was audio recording on the camcorder? Just wondering if the bass is also crackly.
No problems with the focus, light was apparently bright enough.
And the video sound came out quite crackly as expected - smartphone mics are not designed for these peaks. And believe me, it was LOUD.

Amazing indeed, I have got to try some nighttime shots one of these days.
Nice shots. I'm really a bit worried about low light photos especially when the flash bleed issue was discovered. I know that smartphones were never really meant for low light photography (for now). Looks like a Z1 Compact will be a good back up during concerts when my zoom camera runs out of memory or battery - decent low light performance + good digital zoom.
My Nexus 4 is almost useless on night outs and concerts - occasions that I take pictures most and very seldom bother to bring a proper cam.
