Helle everyone,
i need help with the XDAIIs that i'm having. Before buying the XDA, i was using my Sony Ericsson K700i as an external modem via infrared to connect online for my laptop (Fujitsu S Series Lifebook) . Because GPRS is expensive and my area doesn't have WiFi, so i'm using the XDA's phone capabillities to dial up online.
My problem now is my laptop was able to detect the XDA via infrared but wasn't able to dial up at all (there is no dial tone at all).
I've heard that this it is possible dial up online using the phone function of the XDAIIs and there is a lot of settings required for the XDA and the laptop, but i'm willing to do it because this porblem has affected my work a lot.
Please help me, anyone...

Does anyone know of a patch or registry change that will allow me to use the dialup networking (DUN) service on an external bluetooth modem?
Recently bought a Socket Cordless bluetooth modem. I can bond with it fine and detect the Serial service without any problems but no DUN. Had the same problem with a Zoom Bluetooth but am now certain that the problem lies with the XDA IIs. Its ability to detect the DUN service seems to have been disabled somehow.
I've tried all the BT upgrades and am now on version 3900. It's good and stable but still can't use my external bluetooth modem.
I'm not sure whether this link will help or not. But just give it a try.

Thanks but doesn't help I'm afraid
Thanks but the info you posted is about usind the XDA IIs AS a bluetooth modem. I want to use and external bluetooth modem bonded with my XDA IIs.
The IIs has a crippled BT implimentation and can not dial-up as is - there is another thread somewhere about a workaround.
How strange.
Thanks for that. It's strange that they should do that but it ties in with what's been happening (or not happening) with my XDA IIs. Any idea where that thread is? Been looking around but can't find it.
Hi there,
I have an O2 XDAiis. I would like to put the sim card from this into my Nokia 6230i and use my XDAiis as a PDA connected to my mobile through bluetooth. I have a IPAQ and am able to connect it to to my Nokia 6230i through bluetooth dialup networking but I cannot seen to be able to do this on my XDA. The connectivity I would like is a dialup modem and GPRS… please help
Thanks
Fiona
PS I am using the latest rom and bluetooth drivers from O2
Hi,
Yeah, the bluetooth seems to be cripled to stop you connecting via another mobile phone and make you use the operator it's got a SIM card for.
I would love to do this to - my blue angel is now my 2nd phone/pda/satnav and GPRS is expensive - if I want to use cheaper GPRS in it i've got to swap the SIM card with my main phone
I've looked about quite a bit but can't find any kind of info or workaround.

Hello everybody,
I have the following problem with my o2 XDA III and I'm wondering if there is anyone out who has the same:
I want to use a Nokia N90 (which supports 3G) as a modem for my XDA III, and I want them connected via Bluetooth. I know it offers the dial-up networking service (DUN) so that my XDA III could connect to it. But the only service my XDA III retrieves is the "OBEX File Transfer...".
Then I tried another mobile, the Nokia 6630, which I borrowed from a friend. But again, the XDA III only retrieves the OBEX.
Finally I shuffled my cupboard and got my old Siemens S55. Now, the XDA III detected both the OBEX service and the Serial Port service.
Even an update (BT 3500 --> BT 3900) could not solve that problem.
I know the Nokias support DUN, and that's why I think the mistake lies in the XDA III.
I'd be very pleased to hear from you!
cbruehl, who liked (until now) his XDA III very much.

There IS a solution for this....
I downloaded the BroadcomCorp_BT1.6.0.600.cab from the XDA FTP server and followed this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18052&highlight=btwizardprofiles
to the modified btwizardprofiles.dll. I modified the CAB file so that this (older!) version is installed (it's 1.4.1.60) and that works fine. I did manage to find another 1.6.0.600 bluetooth stack, but that .dll bombed out on me  and I could not get the stack to install. Hope that helps.
How to use Quickly Reply?
Hi, all!
I'm a new member. Could someone help me?
i have a qtek 9090 and bought a sony ericsson HBH-610a. Unfortunately, i cant use it, as the services are not recognized. I would much appreciate your help.
thanks in advance
giro
PDA2K with HBH-610a
I've got the same problem trying to connect the Sony Ericsson HBH-610a with my PDA2K.
I can detect the headset without problems, and pair them (the light on the headset switches to green), however when trying to add it in the BT Manager the PDA says it cannot detect any services from the headset . I get the same message when using the option to detect services on generic BT devices (bottom of BT manager).
I can detect services on Nokia phones with the PDA2K, and use the HBH-610a with Nokia phones, so I guess it must either be a setting in the PDA2K or problems with the BT connection itself.
Anyone can help? I managed to get a good price on the headset and wouldn't want ot have to change it. It's listed as compatible on the internet vendor's site (and several others) but not by i-Mate, nor by Sony Ericsson.
Gentlemen, Gurus, I use WM6 (T-Mobile Wing) and I want to do 2 things:
1) I want to extract SMS's from my cell to my laptop using bluetooth/usb connection to my laptop
2) I want to be able to send/receive SMS using my WM6 cell phone FROM my laptop using bluetooth/usb connection to my laptop. I mean someone there must be genious enough to develop some kind of software to send and receive sms on laptop using bluetooth/usb connection to WM6 cell phone - I just need the same.
Any and every guidance is very HIGHLY AND SINCERELY APPRECIATED.
