Hi all,
I want to import a calendar from Outlook to my Trinity on WM6.
May I ask to explain me how to do ?
Just to clarify the reason of my demand, I know that if you synchronise you will have all the datas, but on my company, the USB ports are disabled by the administrator, so I want to export the calendar file and import it to my mobile (by email for example).
Thanks in advance for your help

copy your outlook.pst from the office to a portable device (CD-Rom) if your PC has a burner and than syncronize at home
sorry I think you're stuffed- if you copied a .pst file via CD ROM you'd be able to sync once. Change your calendar at work and you have to repeat- it's unworkable.
I don't think it's possible- I presume if your USB ports are diabled, there is no way you could install any other software, and the chances of having a CD writer are low two.
Can you ask your IT folks to install Active sync and a USB cradle for you?

4 Solutions:
a) Let your company buy Exchange
b) Let your company buy Zimbra Mobile (cheeper)
c) Establish a vpn tunnel to office from home to sync your home outlook
d) Sync your outlook at work with google calendar and the synch your outlook at home with the same google calendar (use google to further information...)
Ciao
Thanks claros,
I will try the 4th solution. the other ones are not possible because firewalls (I work in a bank).
I'll tell you

interesting idea about google calendar.. i've been looking for a solution like this so my secretary could update my calendar for me at work, without using exchange since our company doesn't have it. What do you use to sync your google calendar? there seem to be so many different options..

I was using this http://remotecalendars.sourceforge.net/ as it was in italian too... But at that time it was almost the only app, now you can find tons of them... RC is an Outlook plugin, but you can find a standalone Calendar Application...
We have Zimbra now so I don't sync with Outlook any more and calendar editing is done via web by our secretary...

Hi,
I see you have an orange icon, so you call with orange? they have a agenda function on their website, you need to login.
maybe that's a solution.
Google calendar is a very good solution. I'm using it with "oggsync" whitch allows me to synchronise google agenda with my 3G connection and oif course with my mobile outlook.
I'm only still having one issue, Google calendar can send invitations but aparently, you can't receive an invitation from a non goolge calendar, you receive an email and then you have to import that iCal file into google calendar.
It would be better if I could receive my invitation directly into google calendar but it's not possible, I'll look further on that, maybe i'll find something.
Thank you very much for your help !

Outlook invitation can cause strange issues, especially if your contacts are different between devices.
And you can use only Outlook or PIM Backup ver 2.5 to backup appointments with participants on your trinity (other programs or older version of pim backup gives errors during restore)
Glad to help!

Sorry,
I don't know any software able to read a pst, except for some tool to repair a pst under xp/vista...
...But you should be able to read a .cal file and import it into outlook...
To import my calendar from Motorola A1000 I used to prepare a big cal file and import it with Remote Calander. Outlook 2007 (I don't use it) should be able to import cal file directly...

Google Calendar Sync
5 March 2008 Google Calendar Sync allows you to sync events between Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=89955
You can now access your Google Calendar account from your mobile phone! Just visit mobile.google.com/calendar/ with your phone's web browser and once you're logged in, you'll see your list of upcoming events with date and time information in an easy-to-browse format.
Cheers
Tom
Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all the hard work in keeping this forum alive, it has been great fun updating my Hermes to the latest and greatest!
Now I pose a question. Is there an email client for the Hermes that is better than the stock one included in the WM6 Operating System? I use my Hermes to handle a lot of email per day and the email client built into the OS just doesn't seem robust enough to handle all the mail coming my way.
Anyone have similar complaints? Is there a solution out there?
You can try commercial FlexMail or freeware Qmail. Both are badass mail clients and both are far more featured than Pocket Outlook.
Here is a question -
Is there a way to have the hard button for email start Qmail instead of pocket outlook?
yes you can

I do not use my device for e-mails, but from my references Qmail should be more stable than FlexMail (where the guy testing it lost his mail accounts config twice in several days).
hey guys,
I'm now offering exchange mailboxes to users (subscription based service). right now i see two, one by austindkelly in the wizard forum (he's disappeared for over a month and looks like he doens't offer his service any more) and one by denial in the kaiser section ($5/month). I thought I'd offer up a similar service starting with the hermes group (cheaper of course) with a few extra tidbits of joy...
- supports iphone exchange services, saves a heck of money over apple's mobileme service!
- outlook web access (with the advanced interface)
- 1gb quota
- both SSL as well as standard port options
- *IMAP access* - you don't even need outlook, syncs flawlessly with your phone.
- *MAPI* outlook access - hook up your outlook on your PC to sync with my service which in turn syncs with your phone. no plugging in ever needed!
- alias included (get your own email)
- changing your password through outlook web access (one-way non-reversible encryption).
I figured it's a bit of an overkill having my own exchange server that's serving a single account (i.e. mine). so why not open it up!
Price is $10 for 3 months, $19 for 6 months.
Please PM me if you're interested... Already have a number of beta testers who I've received only positive responses from so far. I'll probably set up your account within 12 hours (probably less).
And yes, will give you unused credit money back etc etc if you're unsatisfied for whatever reason. I'm really not in this for the money, it's more to utilize something I spent hours building up, plus to cover the costs of my internet / server hardware.
And, as usual, if you need any files hosted for xda-developers just let me know, i'm already hosting over 40 ROM images and serving 5-6gb/day in ROMs from the wiki!
cheers!
free accounts:
will provide 10 rotating free accounts at any given time for test purposes, will base it off of usage. so if you use the free account, i'll keep it up indefinitely, if not then account will be removed after 14 days and given to the next person in line.
Free accounts do not have MAPI access, have 50mb storage, have no aliases either.
Depending on utilization I may increase this 10 free account limit.
Chamelion, I will be pming you later in regards to two accounts, there are a couple things I need to research beforehand.

much easier for both of us if you just forward your personal .com address e-mail to the e-mail address my server assigns you. if you have an alias, your replies will appear from your personal .com email, not from my server

I'm 35 myself but my last daughter is only 2 weeks old ... that's why I'm still alive and kicking at 2.30 am (Paris Time).
Cheers for the account. I'm giving it a try and will report soon.

How to use?
Chamileon, how can I use?
W/O internet access through phone company?
With internet access through free wifi?

Hi everyone,
I have to acknowledge that the service provided by Chamelion is working flawlessly. I've been using it for a week now and did not encounter any trouble except encoding issues but apparently not from his side. Flexmail is getting crazy with encoding, but poutlook is working great.
For sure, give it a try (if not more) !
thanks Chamelion for the good experience.
Note also that Chamelion is very accessible and quick to respond.
appreciate the positive review DR400, thanks
I have also been using the service for a week, and both Web Access and poutlook are working great.
Great!
I just signed up for the exchange service with Azim and it is great. Not only is it working wonderfully, his customer service and response time has been great. You can't beat what he offers with a stick!
Sign up peeps!
Scarlet
thanks for the feedback guys and gals!
Customer Service is A+, Exchange works flawlessly.
Great Job Azim, and Thank You!
few people are asking about synching from multiple sources...
from my understanding i can only give you one alias for your accounts, which means you can't select your "from." however you're free to forward as many accounts as you wish to the account i create for you, but you can only send from one "alias."
another multi-synching thing people are asking is whether you can sync calendar with your desktop and email with my service. sure!! its best that way in fact - that's what i do. i have my outlook on my desktop which has my calendar, contacts, and only sync my email via push on exchange to my server... you can even take this a step further and set up IMAP access so what you see in your email client is the same as what you'll see in your pocket outlook... if you delete from your desktop, whoosh it disappears from your PDA too
Hi,
Does anyone know about an application which would allow me to synchronize more than one outlook e-mail account (Outlook Webaccess), and eventually also Calendar/Contacts with my Hemes device?
Thanks in advance
Hello,
I'm replying to myself... I found out that an application I already used for calendar sync with OWA, Chronobis, now also has a beta function to sync e-mails directly with OWA... I tested it and it works quite well (still some minor bugs, but hey, it's a beta version)...
And this application is free...
So if anyone is looking for the same kind of functionnality...

I'm not quiet understanding what you mean.
But can tell you that the Mail application on the M8 is an updated version of the One in the M7, so works identically.

Try Blue Mail. It supports:
- Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, AOL, iCloud, Office365, Google Apps, Hotmail, Live (Live.com), GMX, Web.de and any other IMAP mailbox.
- Exchange (via IMAP protocol)
- Custom IMAP/SMTP mailbox config
- Sync multiple mailboxes from various providers in a unified interface
- Push email support
- notifications per account with Quiet Hours, Custom Sounds, Vibrate option, LED and other preferences
- Smart Conversations
- Customized number of days to sync for offline availability
And in "More > Global settings" you can choose to either jump to next mail or back to mail list.
Using it myself since a few days and realy like it.

Ok just that I understand correctly, as I'm not sure I understand what you meen by peek and no peek times.
Do you want to have "quiet hours" where the app doesn't sync at all? As I tested with both of the apps I mentioned you can define quiet hours in which the app doesn't sync in notification settings per account.

I'm still not quiet sure but e.g. in E-Mail-Client for Exchange you can got to settings > tab the account you wish to change the sync settings and under data set the frequency of e-mail retrieval (push (if using exchange) - never - 1min - 5min - 10min - 15min - 30min and 60min).
