According to the comparison state at least with the big boys like Tomtom:

But how about Pocket Land (www.compegs.com) and OziExplorer from D and L software?
Bart

If the software accepts NMEA (the GPS standard) then it should work. We currently have one on test (a colleague not me ) and very nice it is too!

Bluei Bluetooth GPS wont talk to SX 66

Hello, I am the proud owner of a Siemens SX 66 Bluetooth version 1.0.0 Build 3500. While I have no trouble with the BT perofrmance regarding headsets (Jabra 200 and Siemens own ) I can't get the Bluetooth GPS (Bluei http://www.bluegps.com) unit I have to send data to my Street Atlas 2005 application. It seems to pair with no trouble but not effectively send data.
I am afraid to change to build 3900 as I have seen posts that it adversely effects the headset performance. Does anyone have a suggested fix or a suggestion for a different GPS unit that is known to operate with this build?
Aside from this issue I am very pleased with the device having just moved over to PPC from a treo 600.
Thanks to anyone that can help.[/i]
I'm not sure my situation fits your case but I have been using the Navman Bluetooth GPS 4100 with my O2 XDA IIs without any problem. However, the software I use is CoPilot Live Pocket PC 5 and that software manages the Bluetooth GPS communication by itself without having me manually bonding it through the O2 XDA IIs Bluetooth manager interface.
Bluei doesn't seem to be a well-known brand so I suspect their GPS is the problem. If you want, you can go out to CompUSA or Fry's or Best Buy... and try to buy a Navman Bluetooth GPS to see if you can make Navman Bluetooth GPS work for you. I guess once you know your Siemens SX66 is not the problem you can then decide to keep that Navman Bluetooth GPS or return it to find a better deal somewhere...
The Navman Bluetooth GPS I'm talking about looks like this
http://www.navman.com/land/products/gps4420/index.html
Most store seems to carry the 4410 models but the GPS itself are essentially the same in every models.
Hope it helps
As much as I hate to have to buy another GPS unit I think you are probably correct. Thanks for the advice.

Best Bluetooth GPS for TomTom 3 & XDA 2i

Hello all, I am new to the forum.
I have just got my 2i and love it. Want to do the satnav thing now, but would like to know the best BT gps unit to get, i have a Jabra bt headset & Satnav enabled car (screen mount) cradle.
As per my flag i am in the UK.
Many Thanks
I may not be popular for saying this but a cheap wired gps will give you a solution without the attendant agro of bluetooth.
I have an XDA III (ROM flashed to XDA2i O2 UK) and I use Tomtom 3 with the Tomtom Bluetooth GPS. So far I have had no problem at all. My wife uses it with the HP Ipaq 4150 with the same result.

anyone using the parrot CK3300 car kit?!

i am seriously thinking about getting this to use with my orange spv m500. as it will be a nice and neat solution to both a handsfree kit and a gps reciever. Was just woundering if anyone has used one of these before and how they would rate it and more importantly if they would recomend i get it or not. As don't want to spend all that money if it's rubish!!!
Thanks,
Tom

Making a TyTn "look" like a phone over Bluetooth?

The reason behind the question is that I want to pair a Tytn with the new Mercedes Bluetooth kit. Unfortunately, the Mercedes kit searches for devices which identify themselves as Phones - rather than Pocket PC's and so it ignores the Tytn completely. Does anyone know of a way to hack the TyTn to make it show up as a Phone?
same problem here with the Volvo car kit (apparently is a Motorolla kit).
any ideas are appreciated.
