Hi,
Just recieved my m2000 and pleased with it.
One strange thing, in the box was a sd card (32mb) with talk now printed on it, but card was blank.
Did anybody else get this card and was it blank too
Thanks
richard
SD cards
Orange do not provide sd cards with M1000 or m2000 Customer services say that it is an optional extra.
Blank SD cards
The blank sd card is shipped from the manufacter just to keep the slot occupied- i am not sure but i think it is for transportation purposes
My M2000 came with a tranportation blank in the slot, and a 32MB card with a 'Talk Now' label on it. The card was empty.
David.

Hi All,
I just got hold of a Takems (a German company) 4Gb SD 133x card from an Amazon seller (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Takems-Hyper-Speed-flash-memory/dp/B000C3RC9C) for about £30 plus delivery, so I thought I would report my findings. Note that I got their SD card, not their SDHC card.
I am running an O2 XDA Exec on the Vodafone network, and I have upgraded my ROM to WM6 (Jwrightmcps Crossbow ROM Update 2.02.02 WWE). I have TomTom v6 working with a BT-359 bluetooth GPS, and up until now I have been using a 2Gb Kingston Memory SD card.
First of all, the bad news - I plugged the Takems card into the SD card slot on my HP nc4400 laptop - no dice . It sometimes recognises that there is a device plugged in, but never sees it as a useable drive. Similarly, no luck with my Kingston usb SD card reader (which has been pretty good with other cards).
The good news is that I found an 18-month-old no-name SD reader which I originally bought at Dusseldorf airport (Windows reports the Device Instance Id as USB\VID_07C4&PID_A600\0000014822), and this reads the card perfectly , which meant that I could back up my original 2Gb card and restore to the 4Gb card using my PC.
The even better news for HTC Universal owners is that when I put the restored-to 4Gb card into my XDA Exec, it also recognised the card perfectly . I can read the files, TomTom still works, and the Settings/Memory tool sees it as having 4Gb. I just took a picture with the camera, and it saved perfectly to Storage Card/My Documents/My Pictures, even though the card is less than 2Gb full.
Hopefully this is useful to other owners,
Darren
Works with HP after all
Thanks to the post here (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/517257.html) I discovered that it was easy to make my 4Gb SD card work on my HP laptop - it just required a registry tweak for the TI SD card driver:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet001\Services\tifm21\Parameters
Original Key Value: SDParam = 16 (Decimal) 10 (Hex)
New Key Value: SDParam = 1
Cheers,
Darren
I hooked up my Desire to my PC as a usb drive and somehow it has corrupted the FAT table on it
Is there anywhere I an get an image of the original SD Card as it comes with the Desire? Obviously I can re-install music/videos etc, but I'm afraid that not having the original data on the card will screw up the apps.
Any ideas?
No it will not. Nothing essential on the original microSD card.
Excellent! Thank you for that.
I actually got most of the files off the card using RescuePro, but they're named Raw0001.dll, Raw0002.exe, etc, but it means I can recover the htcsync.exe and the pdf manual and suchlike.
Thanks again for your help.
I have a Sandisk 16Gb microSD card (which has outlasted one blackberry phone without the slightest problem) and have found that the Desire has on three occasions so far deemed it to be corrupt - with the only option is to format!
Having only music it hasn't been too much of an issue - but if and when I start storing app data such as satnav maps etc I am going to lose my adoration of this phone pretty darn sharpish.
Has anyone else had any sd issues?
Hi, I got my Desire on Friday, from mobilephonesdirect. It seems to be virgin branded phone and I am experiencing the same problem with SD card, it keeps saying the card is damaged and needs to be reformatted, or it says the card is new and needs formatting. I thought this was because it's meant to be a T-mobile phone and possibly the sim is messing the card??? Don't know this is all new to me.
If however the phone is virgin and working on a t-mobile sim does that mean it's unlocked? In which case I shouldn't return it just because of sd card.
Thing is, I don't know if there is something wrong with phone for not accepting the card or if there is something wrong with card?

Hi, I got my phone from carphone warehouse on T-mobile last month and it came with Virgin Media icons as well. I have had no problems with SDcard but replaced it straight away for an 8 Gig I had waiting for it The 4 Gig card has now gone in the mrs's blackberry and seems to be working fine.
The original 4gb card is collecting dust on a shelf. The 16gb replacement is a tried and tested card. Here's to hoping just an unpleasant hitch.
Mine's an unlocked device from T-Mobile.

hey Guys, i had two types of mark, a sandisk and kingston with both 32gb and both with the same problem.
What happens is this, I insert a microsd to miniSD adapter and put it in the laptop, transfer 4GB of music, it takes HOURS, when it ends, the files automatically erases, dissapear from sd card.
Anyone know please tell me why it happens?
Unfortunately that usually means the sd card is a fake, they are allover ebay. Basically they alter a 4gb card to make it show as 32gb.
I'd try and get a refund for the card if I was you!

Hello.
I got my phone from service yesterday and I have noticed that SD card doesn't fit properly in SD tray. The card is Kingston 16 GB and if I move tray a bit then card works fine. I have tried two SD cards and it seems to be the tray or something else. Both cards are working in my Z1. Is it because of tray or something else? It is E5653 device and it is running 5.1, no 6.0.1 upgrade available yet.
Thanks in advance.
I would say either the tray or the internal contacts.
Try installing the card and tray then slip a suitably sized thin piece of paper behind the back of the tray and see if that helps. If it does then it's probably a problem with the contacts.
slipped a new 64gb card in the expandable slot and loaded file explorer and it doesnt show it
I have an otg connector which does show up with 2 other micr sd cards I inserted that has data on it already.
what can I check if the phone is defective or its some software setting?
never mind. dumb ass here. nothing to see move along
memory card goes at the bottom, not top
