Does anyone know if this clear case is any good ?
http://www.pdamods.com/products.asp?cat=70
I have an aluminium one but would like to change it to a clear one.
I like it very much
Ordered one with Proporta
Unfortunately theyre still out of stock there (price 14,95 GBP)
I rang pdamods.com this morning and they said they have them in stock and it would be delivered to my home tomorrow - Can't wait for it !!!
i rang proporta today to cancel my order but when speaking to the guy he said:
they come in this morning do i still want to cancel my order so i changed my mind he said hell get mine sent today 1st class so i should have tomorrow also cant wait nearly 2 months of waiting lol
i just wrote them a mail awhile agoe and got it back the server said it could not resolve the addresss then i went to their site
to look for another adress
and saw that my case was marked as ready to ship aswell
hope it gets here one day
Woohoo! Good news that i might finally recieve my order. Darn shame the phone is on its 2nd visit to the xda service centre
what is wrong with your XDA 2 (again) ?
Hanging a lot, first time i sent it back they apparentely reflashed the bootloader, but the same problems were happening when they returned it.
jeeeha!! Mine is ready to ship as well.
Gues I just ordered mine just-in-time
(I canceled my previous order to express my anger form waiting more than a month)
just got a mail that mine had ship'd
now i can finaly change number without having to pull out the whole device
because i did try to map the play next and prev to the inc and dec and inc vol button on the side but it dont always work so sometimes it change the song at sometimes it inc the vol
Mine has shipped too. Delivery in approx. 7 days. Pitty (for that) I am on holiday then . . .

it doesnt feel too bulky at all, in fact it is the slimmest fitting case i have found so far for the xda. I used to use the proporta aluminium case which is a little bit bigger and thicker and heavier than this.
i have given the front a good squish test and even sat on it a few times and it seems vers strong. not as solid as the aluminium one but pretty damn close (has a little more give in it)
yey, yey, yey, i get full gsm signal with the case on as oposed to half signal that i used to get with the alu one!
a little light reflection from the case, however the screen is very visible and totally clear and colourful. I havent tested it in bright sunlight yet, however with a spot lamp it is fine!!!
there doesnt appear to be a belt clip attachment at all (unlike the alu one), so this might be an issue for people
Hope this helps guys!
to sum up i think this is the best case i have found yet for the xda II, all the buttons are easily accessible and the flip over top design is much easier to hold than the side opening alu one. It is a brilliant case!
2 possible draw backs that dont bother me at all :
1) no belt clip
2) no sd storage slots
brilliant design i recommend everyone who is looking for a small case for keeping their xfda in their pocket gets this. i am very impressed. was worth the 2 month wait!!
well from looking at your pictures there is a hole under the hole for the cam
on the std case there is a hole like it and you put in the org beltclip in it and it locks
are you positive that you cant just plug in your org beltclip
i dont really use the beltclip for anything other then stoping my xda
from moving to the buttom of my front pockets, so the clip in on the outside of the pocket
(yes i have abnormaly large pockets )

I have many of this for sale. Please search for my username, chaiwat_t, if this item number has been sold. It got a good review in my country so hope you like it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Silicone-Case-O...864428709QQcategoryZ48673QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I'm interested - are there any published reviews?
So am I. I'm curious what the white version looks like. Any pics?
They have it here : http://www.boxwave.com/products/flexiskin/flexiskin-qtek-9000_722.htm
In 5 different colors for 27.95$. Can everyone with experience in silicon cases comment about it being a dust hugger? I heard it gets dirty easily but i don't have personal experience.
If it is that bad (the dust) how come they still sell?
I am using one myself for my SPV M5000 and it's not a dust hugger. Anyway, it's normal that if you use the black color, you'll notice the dust easier. It's the same for everything in black color, I think.
I've not seen any reviews yet but you can ask tho who had bought it from me (via eBay).
It makes my life less heavy as other cases make this giant like a big brick while this siliconse case just adds a litte weight to it.
I'll be doing a review soon. And the alumium grey is the best one as far as Jasjar's are concerned as i was told the skin blends very well with the original color.
If you have an exec, then i suggest you go for the clear version, thats your best bet.
Docc.

How much are you selling them with shipping to Madrid, Spain included? In €uros preferably.
I've never used ebay. Where is your link? Thanks
Hi,
I ordered one from ebay and it cost me 24 euros including postage.

Can you please post the link to the seller? Also is that 24€ international postage? I live in Madrid, Spain
I used the link in the first post. Check it out .You have to pay in advance with paypal. I paid 24 euros and am waiting for the delivery (tony_ix: any idea how long that'll take?). This includes postage to the Netherlands (price is GBP 9,49 and 5,99 postage: is about E24) . If I'm wrong, I'm sure tony_ix can give some more info, since he's selling them.
Please do let us know how it fits. One concern of mine is that some of the cut outs might not correspond to the actual holes. If you could possibly post some pictures, that would be very nice.
Yes, that's true. The photos on the boxwave site show that the videocam hole is not exactly in line
For more photos...
http://www.pda4thai.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1333
There is no issue of cutouts not correspond to the actual holes.
ng, I have no picture of the unit with the white color at the moment. From the items sold, the black color is the most popular.
Is there anyway of getting one of these without using ebay or paypal?
Hi,
When I get this case, I won't be able to be of any use as to how the case will fit, since I don't have my device yet . I still have to wait some time before the end of my subscription before I can go get the universal. I bougth this case in eager anticipation. I thought the price was right and figured that by the time I get my device, they would be sold out.
So you'll just have to make do with the pictures online. Based on the pictures I expect it to fit well, also with the cut-outs. I was also not too fond of the flexiskin pictures showing the holes out of allignment. I do hope it will color ok, since I'm going to get the silver mda pro, but I that's just esthaetics.
I was wondering: based on the pictures of this silicone case, would it be of any help in the "keyboard marks" issue, since the case will add an extra strip around the border of the keyboard. This is pure speculation ofcourse, but an optimistic one. Any thoughts?
N
Regarding the keyboard scratchs, i wonder the same thing, any ownser of this skin care to comment?
Riceburner,
Please email me if you want to try paying in another way.
About the keyboard, I think if the skin covers the keyboard, then you'll find it hard to see the alphabet on it and that is pain. I like it to have the cutout for the keyboard.

Yes, but is it thick enough (the case) that the screen part doesn't touch the keyboard? Check this forum for xda exec case marks and you'll see what i mean. The upper part of the device (which is where the screen is) has shiny "dots" that correspond to the keys as they rub against eachother. Normally only the upper part of the screen. Just want to know if the "frame" of the silicon case is thick enough to prevent this to happen as there are a lot of people with the device for more than a month that have seen this symptom
its amazing... the screen is not touching the keyboard
the material feels very soft and strong at the same time
i did not expect it to be so perfect it fits like a glove
if yu guys want any particular fotos pls pm me and i'll try my best to provide
i would recomd this case to any one using the universal...
as i have the jasjar it looks a bit weird because it does not cover the hinge on the outside otherwise excellent case

Hi guys,
ive found some bike mounts for the s2, but none of them looked solid enough to be ready for my mountainbike.
The phone should be completely covered by plastic, plexiglass or another material solid enough to survive light blows, dirt and light rain, and it should not fall of after passing the first curb.
Any suggestions?
i´ve seen mountainbike mounts for other mobile devices wich could work perfectly for the SGS II, maybe you shouldn´t look for a specific mount for the SGSII, just look for a mountainbike mount for a mobile device with a similar size as the SGS II.
Another interested here ^^ When i got the phone in a few weeks, i´ll look for that mount too.
Be very careful.
If you are MTBing versus riding on the road. The vibrations are too harsh and cause issues with the internal connectors.
I personally have lost a garmin GPS and my HTC Polaris phones. First ride and within 15 mins started rebooting etc. Garmin stated to reboot with just fine knocks.
Warned a mate when he was mounting a iphone, decided to risk it and 5 mins his touchscreen failed. Another mate his iphone started to reboot.
this may be ok... :

I bought one but still waiting for delivery
Agaryt, please report when you test it. I'm rally curious if this will do the job.
no problem
I should have it before Thursday , so no late than Monday I let you know how does it work
Very interested too!
Looks exactly like what I was looking for, looking forward to hands-on report.
I was thinking about buying this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004Q4Q6QS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=stdscaba-21
but one found by agaryt looks better, although it is bit more expensive.
Was biking the other day and wondering this very thing, however...

...this post does worry me. Biking can lead to very sharp knocks while riding along the trails, and even a phone in a lined case would be at risk.
Normal city and tour riding would likely be fine... but proper mountain biking? The potential something to be concerned about imo.
The one agaryt linked to on Ebay does look great though... if I was to get one out of that one and the one posted on Amazon i'd definitely spend the measly few pounds extra and get that one.
im also quite worried about vibration on the bike even without any connector.
i'd much rather have something to snap the phone on my (inner, up, to protect it) arm for example. you can see still the track etc quite easily (not as easily as if its mounted on the bike, but much better than in the pocket..)
I think ill buy one of the allready mentioned universal mounts where the s2 is put into a "bag" (the one from ebay looks great).
As there is no solid connection between handlebar and s2, i don`t think that those fine vibrations are a problem. Maybe theres even enough space in the bag to add some extra, soft material to absorb vibrations.
Also i think that the phone is safer on the bikes handlebar than on my arm, as i landed in hospital twice while my bike was undamaged ^^
Hmm, I would be a little nervous about the connector from the case to the mount.
Also, I assume you can feed a charging cable in where the two zips meet?
I would love to be able to use my phone on my bike and do away with my seperate SatNav. After a mount I would just need a bluetooth helmet!
Have you looked into these? I have universal mount for my iPhone and works perfectly.

Hello
Do you remember it ?
for_bike
I've got it for couple day now .
I have to say , It is really waterproof , I don't mean you can swim with it but I was running when rain and my galaxy was safe . After finish was totally dry ... That the most important for me .The problem is when you want to use headphones . There no hole for it . But to be honest if you biking better option is bluetooh headphones anyway . Quality is really well .
I took some pictures for everybody.
Any questions just let me know .

Thanks for the update Gary.I have to say that I wouldn't want to use my S2 in the front of either my road or mountain bike even if these holders do look fairly secure.
I have a Garmin 705 which is a dedicated unit for cycling. Routing is way easier to sort out and I also get helpful stats such as cadence and HR too. A bluetooth HR monitor is quite expensive for what it is.

this looks good
orderd one
i made a mountenbike trip last week from 400 km in 4 days
and i whas using a universal bike holder but the weather was dry and sunny.
i used Osmand to navigate and its realy great i think its the best app for the bike.
The bad thing whas my battery (only 4 hours of navigation)
so i need a 3500mah or more battery for a minimum of 8 hours navigation.
Thanks Agaryt!
Few questions:
1. Is the screen remains visible under the cover?
2. Can you use the touch screen?
3. What about the vibrations during the ride? Is the phone OK inside?
Some general advice from someone who used a mount with his old SGS1:
Most of these mounts have a mounting part that is attached to the bike and then some kind of click-lock system to hold the actual device in place. If so, then that is a very important weak point that you will want to look out for! These point can get loose and will sling your phone into the air if you don't secure them additionally with some straps or whatever fits your specific holder.
My I9000 had to experience that several times (albeit with no permanent damage outside of scratches) and this was not on something as wild as a MTB but something as "smooth" as a racing bike (on flat asphalt, although you need some kind of bump to make the phone fly off)

Hello .
Screen is visible very well and touch screen works more than good . Honestly I didn't ride with it yet . I was running twice so far included once when rain and both times phone was dry after .
I used two different arm band for my galaxy and galaxy 2 but nothing protected as good as this one . I mean protection against damp (sweat ) or rain .

definitely not slim, and not cheap, but I've been very happy with this case for my N7-2012.
http://www.thesnugg.com/tablet-case...ather-case-cover-and-flip-stand-in-black.aspx
Will post once I get mine (pre-orders claim to ship Aug 23).
I got my Snugg case today...
what I like: they moved the loop for the stylus (not that I use it) away from blocking the USB port (as it did on the N7 2012 version of the case).
But alas, the case I got is a big fail. Open the case, the N7 turns on.. as you expect... and then when you finish folding the cover back behind the N7... that same magnet has enough pull to turn the N7 right back off
all you have to do is fold the cover back behind and slide it back and forth a little. I never had this problem with my N7(2012)+Snugg.
So I'm returning my case. Maybe they'll get the kinks worked out in a future batch.
EDIT: similar to the 2012 case, I do wish they made it a bit easier to reach the power/volume buttons.. the cut-out on the Poetic slimline is MUCH better for that.
EDIT2: Snugg is sending a replacement.. we'll see if its any better.
EDIT3: the comedy continues.. the replacement they sent was a red iPad case... not much good that will do... have emailed them again and waiting to hear back.
Got my replacement case.. same issue.... so I decided to do a little surgery...
I removed the stitching from 3 of the 4 sides around the tan Snugg logo, and peeled it back. Under that was a layer of light brown tape/paper.. I used a nife to scrape that back, and under that was a magnet which resembles a button battery... maybe 2/3 the diameter of a dime (US).
I used 2 pair of pliers to attempt to snap it in half.. it was fairly brittle, do I ended up with 4 pieces of different sizes.. I 1st tried the largest piece.. maybe ~50% of the original magnet... put it back in place, piece of electrical tape over, and tucked the logo back in place... still saw the problem.
So then I swapped that piece for the 2nd largest (maybe 1/4 of the original magnet).. and so far that seems to be doing the trick. Seems to open reliably from the front, and is NOT detected (knock wood) when the cover is folded to the rear.
I'll give it a few more days, then add some glue to secure the stitching I removed and call it a win.
I've emailed Snugg about this, but so far they are saying "we haven't had any other complaints".. I dunno, since I got one of the 1st cases they made for N7v2, I think that is a premature assessment on their part.
At this point, I hope I have the case I wanted.

Well Snugg is a nice case but I dont like that stylus space there...because I dont like to use stylus and more over that space will be more irritating one rather than being useful.....on comparison it with black leather portfolio case...i find that portfolio one is much better...as A case or a cover is a product that should be for the care of tab properly so i prefer that one over snugg...almost same price..but quality of leather portfolio case is much better...but its my personal experience i would say.....
Thanks....

The stylus loop was at the bottom, blocking the USB port on their case for N7-2012.. they moved it to the top for N7-2013 (so it doesn't block anything now).. I don't use a stylus either, but it stays out of the way for me.
Snugg replied to my email, saying they have now gotten other complaints and are making an adjustment to the magnets in the case. Will be sending a revised case once it is ready.

took a look at the link... I had a case like that for my Touchpad.. never again... I much prefer the Snugg style/functionality... I've had the N7-2012 version for almost a year.. zero fraying... it still is like-new. 2 others in the family have Snugg cases for different tablets, and they've had no issues either. *Other* than this current magnet issue (allegedly being fixed in a new batch of cases), I've seen nothing to suggest Snugg cases are anything but top quality, equal or better than any other "leather" case I've owned over the span of several tablets.
but the nice thing about this is that everyone likes a different style case, and there's something out there for just about everyone at every price point.
I got my rev2 case.. they did more than just fix the magnet... the inside cut-outs are different, and most importantly, they did a carve out around the power and volume buttons, making those much more accessible.
Oh, and by dumb luck, I figured out that the stylus loop can easily tuck in behind your N7, so it's totally out of the way (even tho it didn't bother me anyway).
and the magnet strength seems fixed now.
All in all I can now call this a very good case.

Just saw the update on the rev2 case, right after I got done talking to Snugg. The lady at first hesitated, checked with her supervisor then came back. Said they had similar issues and it was fixed, new cases would be aent out to thoae affected meaning you muat first complain to get a replacement. My issues were bad fit, camera slightly blocked front and back. Buttons impossible to find, edge was curled badly, left aide of screen slightly covered, and just now typing this response my magnet kicked my screen off! Just goto Snugg's website and click the chat link they will send out a case once they verify your order number with them or amazon. Glad to hear the updated case looks more like the picture on their website. Waiting for mine now.

hmm.. just looked at the website.. their pic looks like the original rev for N7-2013... the one I got has cutouts above and below the screen ~3/4 the width of the display... vs. their pic show just a cutout for the front facing camera.
EDIT: FWIW I have NO idea why the new cutouts above/below the screen were done this way. the other changes they made, make sense to me.
OMG, what the crap case!
I received my my SCR26 cover from Clove yesterday. Preordered almost 2 months ago, because I thought it looked pretty nice. I was quite satisfied with my Dot View case from my HTC M8, and I would have liked a similar experience from Sony.
First of all the display area in the front was nicked. It was protected on both sides by a peel-off plastic , but somehow it had gotten nicked.
Secondly, there was a snap lock on the side that fastens on the back. I can see that it's shown on the Sony site now, but I am fairly certain that it wasn't a while back. It certainly isn't shown on Clove's product page. It pretty much ruins the cover for me having to unsnap the clasp to open the case. Also: way ugly
So the phone cannot lie flat on its back when the cover is on and closed (or open for that matter). I'm returning mine and suggested that Clove change their product page to reflect the actual product.
That aside, I wasn't terribly impressed with the "style view window". It's nifty being able to take pictures without opening the case as well as skipping tracks and play/pausing, but there is, as far as I can tell, no way to view your notifications other than simply acknowledging that they are there, forcing you to open the case to see what they are.
The phone adheres to the back of the case on a sticky surface, but I can see that being problematic, if it is removed and re-inserted over time.
I wasn't terribly impressed, but then again my opinion was somewhat colored by the presence of the clasp from the get-go.
I knew that this case could be somewhat disappointing
Would you mind providing some other pictures of the case?
I was almost itching to buy this case for a very long time... Since the wait was endless, I finally took the plunge and bought a Ringke Fusion case.. after reading this review I think I made a good choice after all..
I'm kind of feeling the same way as you after getting mine today after over 2 months of waiting on it ......

Could you take some pictures of it? I'm interested in getting this cover and want to see the problem and how's the cover made myself.
Sent with my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with Tapatalk Pro
At work right now, will see what I can do when I get home.
Same here, received after 2 month and really disappointed. Build quality is awfull but the worst is that snap lock on the side, it feels like opening a purse . Oh and also the sticky part to attached the phone at the back, how long is that going to last if I decide to use the phone witout the case. Really Sony, is that all you could do for that great phone!!?
I sent it straight back to amazon as the picture was different from the product. Now looking for a new case.

4) VOLUME PANEL AND HOME BUT AREA ARE HARD TO CUT IF THEY ARE NOT SHAPED CORRECTLY THEN ITS HARD TO POERATE VOLUME AND POWER BUTTON
5) IT GET FITTED WELL IN CASE BUT NOT PERFECTLY IF U DONT GIVE SOME SUPPORT WITH HAND TO CASE WHEN PHONE IS DOWNWARD IT MAY FALL

It is actually pretty impressive that you were able to cut that out to such a good fit. My opinion, however, is that the sandstone back is like a case in itself.

Thanx for reply
Now my phone is 6 month old
Corners sand stone black is getting worse day by day it is getting removed
Again i falled my phone 2-3 times and it chromium film get some damage
So i thought till get my new back case i should make an alternate solution
It just for fun not fullproof solution as back case
But when u use it u feel very handy than sand stone back case
And surprisingly every one asking which phone this is ( but this is not case previously)
I dropped my phone a few times too, and it looked ugly around the edges. The Housing Frame is really cheap and is pretty easy to replace. The back cover can also be bought for cheap. Once I finally got the parts, it took about an hour and now my phone looks brand new.
But yes, if it is hard to order parts to where you live... make a box case!

There's some links or suggestions where to buy things in the repair guide thread here.
I bought the Bamboo back instead of putting my old sandstone one back on. It's a bit slippery, but looks awesome.
The housing frame should cost about $10-15
This is awesome. By the way, how do you get lockscreen widgets?
But does not have noise cancel microphone hole beside camera
How is your videos sound ?

Lockscreen widget? That are not lockscreen widgets but lockscreen shortcuts to open apps directly from lockscreen.
These are available in all custom roms in lock screen settings
pretty impressive that you were able to cut that out
