HI, i bought an tv out cable yesterday and i didn't thin that will it work on my device, so i'd like to know if you guys have any experience.
Sorry for my english =}
tv out? what? what kinda of cable? micro usb to tv?
Please report if it will work, thanks
tv-out
i mean an rca cable, red, yellow, white. Its plugged into the 3,5mm port
i think i will receive it tomorrow so i will report if it works
the galaxy 3.5mm jack is only for sound.
you cant get any video from it.
if you connect it to your tv only sound will be heard.
i dont really know if micro usb to tv out works but i seriously doubt that it does.
there is a micro hdmi port for tv out on some phones or some other proprietary port.

there is just one option - if your TV set playes avi / divx / movie files from USB port, then you can use your mobile as a USB drive. That's all. No TV mirroring.
there is no tv out option in our galaxy 3..... it will work only if the hardware supports...... so waste of trying that.....
dommage is
No TV out
Galaxy 3 doesn't have a TV out.

buy a tv samsung and use DLNA service i have one and SG3 + router + tv ([email protected] wireless) and everything works very very well
I have movies on your computer and share across the home network with the program for samsung, I can watch the movies on TV and in sg3, can also control the sg3 the movies I see on TV, very good and practical, when I talk about movies, I speak of pictures too of course
Without even looking or thinking, I can say that no, It's not possible to get a TV out signal from SG3
it could be a nice feature but i think it doesn't work.
not possible but can use Samsung's All Share or similar app for streaming media right?
rca on one end and 3.5mm jack with 4 contacts on the other is for sound only. white + red is for left + right channel output and yellow would be for microphone IN (just like your headphones that came with SG3). NO VIDEO OUTPUT FOR SURE!
what's your report???

Thanks

Try changing the aspect ratio on your TV.

It's mostly likely an overscan issue. See if you can change the scan mode or something like that (maybe zoom?) on your TV. On my Samsung HDTV, I can switch between 4:3, 16:9, or "Just Scan". The "Just Scan" option fixed the issue.
I tried changing my size on the TV and didn't work still has part of the stream cut off on all sides. Is there some setting on the Nexus that might adjust it?

There's no option on the nexus that I know of. I believe you have to change it from your TV. Maybe google up your TV and see how other people solve their overscan issue?
Here's more information about why TVs have overscan:
http://hd.engadget.com/2010/05/27/hd-101-overscan-and-why-all-tvs-do-it/
Actually that helps didn't know what it was called, I will google overscan...thanks
What brand/model TV do you have?
Many TV's have ways to do 1:1 pixel mapping to get rid of the overscan.
I have a Sanyo plasma TV.

Don't know how to explain set-up but look into an app called Twonky. I searched Youtube on how to set it up. I turn my bluray player on and can play any file from my phone through a home network. My TV is older and doesn't have the capability but my bluray player does. Hope it helps
I think i figured it out i was looking at the pic and just found out you have to have a MHL to HDMI Adapter from samsung and you can view everything your doing on your phone to your tv just like that! I also found a video of someone using the HDMI adapter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej94ZiyQaVk&feature=related..... So cool i can stream anything i find online to my tv!
I can't wait for the wireless adapter to come out. I saw a Sprint rep show off the HTC Evo LTE's ability to cast phone content to a tv via HTC 's wireless adapter, it's a pretty cool feature.

I've connected to a Sony bdpbx59 and Samsung bd5700 blu ray players.
Both displayed pictures fine but streamed the videos very choppy on both usb and Wi-Fi connection.
I messed with it for a few days and couldn't figure out if it was the players or something i massed in configuration.
What kind of not ray player are you using?
Do you stream via Wi-Fi or are you connecting your phone to your blu Ray via usb?

Try this
This cable: amazon.com/Adapter-HDMI-EPL-3FHU-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B0080CXSOU/ref=sr_1_16?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1345493155&sr=1-16
It mirrors everything and is available now so if you really want to be able to do that, this should work. If you can deal with it not being wireless it should work fine.

why does this have to be rediculously expensive? sure it would be nice to connect the cord and easily watch youtube video's and etc., but what other purpose would you need to stream video from ur phone to ur tv? i'm not a huge android gamer so that is kind of out of the question too.. $40 is a bit much to justify it's purpose :/ then there is business uses where people might use this at work for presentations, which i won't need to do.. this is a very expensive adapter

Nobody actually buys official samsung adapters, they are way too overpriced.
There's this MHL cable for $11 and an adapter tip for the SGS3 for $10 so it comes out to $21.
Hell, I'd pay up to $80 for it since other things you can buy for the same purpose are $200 or more - PS3, Bluray player, etc. These other devices can't even do nearly the same (no MKV, AVI, etc.).
With the MHL cable, I can just download a movie on my phone and watch it on the TV.
I guess it doesn't matter much if you aren't a huge TV/Movie watcher, but I ditched Comcast TV and now I watch usually 1 movie a day and a bunch of TV shows every time I discover a new (good) series. The way I watch these is with the MHL cable through the TV.
Another option
There is another option, if you are just looking to play videos on your phone on your television. If you have a ps3 or some other device capable of finding media servers you could just connect to your phone (there are some apps on the market that will let you do that). Only problem is that on ps3, cinavia protection might stop you.

Everything on the screen is mirrorable.
Alright, I've found 1,000 walkthrough's for streaming video's through an HDTV, but what about for those of us that still haven't upgraded to one? I don't watch mainstream television, and I don't really play console video games so I've seen no need to make the upgrade. It would be nice if I could figure out a way to connect it via RCA because although I don't personally watch TV/WHATEVER I do occasionally have guests that do!!! My idea would be starting with the original cable, running it through HDMI, and then something like this: http://dx.com/p/greenconnection-hdm...campaign=124&gclid=COaks-_s5rgCFQE6Qgod7DkATg
It sounds good in theory, but that'd be a good $70 all together and an unnecessary amount of cabling... Any alternative/cheaper suggestions/anybody that's actually tried this???
Afraid you'd have to use the rca adaptor when going with an older tv. Had to pick on up for our tablet and my daughter's tv. Keep in mind (didn't look at the specs in your link) that you also want to make sure that your phone can get power *and* be connected through hdmi. Our tablet has separate power and hdmi connections. Not so much on the s3

It's supposed to (7.1 I believe).
Coincidentally, just came across this article regarding the Chromecast and the Android TV Stick on Drippler. Looks like fun!

I just got an MHL adapater off amazon for $10 that works great http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009Y3EA14/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Only problem is that when I try to stream from Xfinity App it says I must disconnect my secondary output device Can anyone please help disable this?
Thanks a lot!!
Try using the Netgear PTV3000 Miracast adapter. It is compatible with Allshare cast. I've been using for several months and works great for mirroring whatever is on your screen and is wireless. I think it also supports 5.1 sound and 1080p.
My roommate shattered the screen on his GS3 and I've been toying with the idea of making it my living room PC for streaming and emulation. For what I do the PC seems like overkill sometimes.
Doing some research I read that some apps like Netflix won't play when the device is detected attached to a TV. That sucks balls....lol. Do we have workarounds?
I like to use all the filtering and buffers on the emulators but haven't tinkered with any of them on Android.
My concern would be the emu quality and then having to acquire controllers that work with Bluetooth. Unless there is a way to use USB controllers with a hub?
Audio...the GS3 probably doesn't do 5.1 either....oh well.
Hard to imagine that old giant tower can possibly be replaced with a phone that I can tape to the back of the TV.
Any comments/links to sites or threads is appreciated.
I actually do this with my s3 currently. I have my main pc with xbmc in my bedroom where i have all my tv shows and movies stored and shared through upnp. In the living room i have a projector and an mhl adapter I got from ebay and a surround sound system. I connect the phone through the headphone jack to the speakers and through hdmi to the projector. Then I have an NFC chip set up to open XBMC and turn on blocking mode. Everything is controlled with a bluetooth keyboard. Works awesome and I get all my tv and movies with fanart. Only thing that would make it better is if I can get the Cinema Experiece add on to work with android so i can get trailers before the movie starts like it does in my bedroom.
For streaming locally it seems like it can get the job done but not sure on the other things.
If you have a good size sd card you could do everything from the phone. A version of xbmc that uses mx player will let you do full 1080 and ttorent will let you get content all directly to the phone. You dont need another pc I just do that because I don't want to usr up all the space I have on my phone.

What do you need exactly.? How much?
I want plug it on a TV.
I don't want chrome cast, just want see movie from the tablet to the TV.
My TV has usb port.
Still waiting for nexus to come. So I m just asking.
You need to buy a slimport adaptor, that is the ONLY way to send video to the TV (or chromecast, but you said you don't want that.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Yes but chrome cast need internet. No?
It s only for your tube.
I won't have internet....
Miracast is also a reasonably good option. I bought a Netgear PTV3000 and has been using for the last 2 weeks. It works properly. But once every 2 or 3 minutes, the video will stop for 1 second. It doesn't happen all the time though. I think its probably the range. Also, it happens sometimes if somebody walks in between the tablet and receiver. I don't have any complaint picture quality vice. But it doesn't show in full screen in my TV, there are borders on all four sides, probably because my TV's resolution and tablet resolution are different.
