If I understand you correctly, you have installed the wrong radio version. Grab a radio version that supports 900/1800 and re-install the rom. Hopefully that will cure your problem.
Have you tried changing it from the bootloader gsm menu.?

Is it possibe to change the frequency that the Desire HD uses?
I just got an HTC Desire HD but it apparently doesn't use the same frequency as my other phone did so I'm stuck on insanely slow EDGE.
I know this request may sound a little odd but I'm desperate to change it.
At the moment the frequency is: HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
And I need to get to: 850/1900MHz
I saw that you can apperently flash "Radios", is this what is needed? What exactly would flashing a Radio do?
If anyone could help me here it would be GREATLY appreciated, I mean what's a smartphone without 3G internet?
Edit: I just realized that both Rogers and the HTC Desire HD share the 1900 frequency, is there any way I could enable the 3G on that frequency?

radio frequencies are "hard coded" into the cpu chipset so cannot be changed...
I dont know if this is what you are after but when youre in telephone mode,
dial *#*#4636#*#*
A menu will come up, choose phone information, then scroll down, you will see "set preferred network type" . There you can change it.

Hi,
Need some assistance regarding a setting for the N7105. If someone could kindly input in their dialer *#9090# and tell me what the default settings are (please do not select anything). Then press back button to cancel.
The default settings are the ones with an asterisk in between two brackets, as seen here (*)
I accidentally selected
[1]DM/DUM over HS-USB

when checking out the service mode/diag config using the above dialer code.
On another matter, also in regards to the N7105. Has anyone noticed in Settings>About Device>Status, that their N7105's Mobile network type is consistently LTE:14
Reason being, is that when my phone is displaying that status, my signal bar shows only 1 bar. However, it does sometimes show full bars and the Mobile network type then displays 'UMTS:3'
I am in an area that can receive 4G signals (Sydney, Australia), but I was under the impression that my phone should be idle in UMTS:3 mode for general calls and SMS; and switching to LTE:14 when I activate mobile data and thus use 4G signal.
I am able to make calls/sms and connect to 4G with no problems, however am concerned that since it tends to be in LTE:14 mode the most that it may drain the battery more than if it were in UMTS:3
Thanks in advance.
Bump
Just dialing *#9090# won't change anything, so long as you don't touch any of the options. Simply dial it, look at the defaults, and then press back button to cancel/close page.
Thanks in advance to those who can help.
Mine is on HSDPA:9, i'm using the N7105 also.
Even if its using LTE band, as long as your not downloading data, it wont kill your battery.
Mine is
[2]DM/DUN over HSIC &
[5] DBG MSG ON
GT-N7105T Unbranded (XSA)

I unlocked t999(T-Mobile) with Z3x without any problem.
But it works perfectly on 1800 band but when trying 900 band sim takes too much time to connect call and sometimes call ended without connecting, phone not reachable when we calls to this phone.
I changed settings to gsm only, 900 preffered etc, updated firmware, different radios but same problem.
Imei, Serial number everything is all right

Dialler > 277634#*# opens the hidden menu
Field Test > Modem Settings > LTE BAND SELECTION > Tap Band 20.
If you're in the range of the 800 MHz the phone switch to it and will ONLY use it (until restart) or until you toggle WCDMA / LTE in the normal settings.
If you're getting No signal, go to manual network selection (do not change to WCDMA/LTE, leave it on LTE) and search for networks. If you don't see 3 RAT 4G, well, you don't have 800 Mhz.

ps. just checking. I can select band 20 and 4g works. if i select band 3 (1800) it keeps finding signal and unable to lock despite there being 1800 signal. does selecting band 3 work for you? is there a way of setting 4g only - so it works 800+1800 only ? (i know no volte on 1800)

There is an app called netvelocity by jio. It tells the info regarding the band and other info as well
Dial *#*#4636#*#* go into phone information >> press the 3 dots menu >> choose radio bands ..
Choose band 40 from the list ....
I am using Jio as well .. It does change the band to 2300 MHz and I get about 40Mbps Instead of abysmal 2 Mbps on 850 MHz !
You need to do that every time you boot your phone .

Setting the band 40 in this option will result in setting the same band for both sims ...
i m using normal 2g/3g sim in sim1 slot and jio sim in sim2 slot..
after selecting band 40 in that settings will result in no network for sim1(normal reliance sim)..
so , how to rectify that..??

after some times , signal for normal sim2 gone , have to restart my mobile to get network in normal sim
You can't really choose your own band.
We have some parameters in the Network, that decide the priority of which frequency band you connect to.
Generally, where Signal, quality and load allow, we let you connect to higher frequency.

There is an app named netvelocity.. Just google jiostore and download it from there.. But problem for me is thay the bands are not getting locked for me from *#*#4636#*#*. The connection does get reset after selecting band 40 but netvelocity app shows 850mhz band and speed remains same as well. Only when i go outdoors then my op3 gets connected to band 40 nd i get full 4g speed of around 30-40 Mbps

Same here.. Can't go on to band 40 even after selecting it and band 850 is giving almost 2g speeds... Everytym i have to go outside my house to download any big file.. Someone needs to solve this for us... I don't want to hate my oneplus 3 for this
selecting band 40 won't make you stop connecting to band 5,
and sadly there's no way we can lock our LTE connection to certain band yet, neither to set the preference
i understand your frustation, since my provider is also using band 5 & 40 for the LTE. If you are in rural/suburban area, it will connect to 850Mhz most of the time, since lower freq has a better penetration and coverage range.
2300Mhz mostly used in city & building, since it can give better throughput
