In the T-Mobile ROM v4.0.0.21, in the file \Windows\shell32.exe, I have found the following string:
STRINGTABLE
LANGUAGE LANG_ENGLISH, SUBLANG_ENGLISH_US
{
60, "This concludes the beta test of the Ozone Pocket PC. Thank you very much for your time and effort in helping make this a great product for our customers.\n\n"
61, "If this device was provided to you, please return it to your beta coordinator or beta program manager. \n\n"
62, "For further information, visit the Ozone or Exchange beta website."
}
Can it be, that betas are time-limited, and will stop working someday? Can somebody confirm this?
7.
well it mean that ms make it possible for companys to make such a time limit
if they want
if they were it would be stated far more clearly if you ask me
shell32 is a pretty core thing so it should just add api possiblitys for such a timelimit to be made

Fennec Milestone Release for Windows Mobile
02.10.09 - 08:40am
On behalf of everyone who have been tirelessly working towards this goal, I would like to announce that our first milestone release of Fennec for Windows Mobile is now available for download.
This release is pre-alpha, and intended to get the product into the hands of early adopters in order to get feed back and bug reports. In order to focus our efforts on getting this release out, we have targeted only one device, the HTC Touch Pro. This has a number of user interface implications, including graphics designed for a 300 dpi screen, control layout intended for a vga screen and reliance on a hardware keyboard for text input.
Installation
You can install this on your HTC Touch Pro by navigating to the cab installer with your existing browser. This will download the cab file and kick off the installation process.
Alternatively you can download the cab file to your desktop and transfer it to your device via activesync. Once the cab file has been copied to you device, navigate to it using file explorer (on the device) and click on the cab file to launch the installer.
Please note, its been brought to our attention that some carriers are filtering web traffic to preclude downloading cab files. If this is the case with your carrier, you’ll either have to download to your desktop and transfer by activesync, or be connected by wifi if you download directly to the device.
Status
Our focus to this point has been to have a working, usable browser. To get there in a hurry we have punted in a few places, and I’d like to point a couple of them out. First is the update mechanism (both for the browser itself and for extensions). After installing this release, you will not be offered updates automatically, so please stay tuned for follow up releases. Also, we have disabled plug-in support. This is one of our high priority items going forward. Finally, as I mentioned before, there is no soft keyboard support. On an HTC Touch Pro, you’ll have to slide out the keyboard to enter a url.
Besides the release, we marked another major milestone yesterday when the final patch to NSPR landed and we were able to build for Windows Mobile off Mozilla’s trunk for the first time ever. I say the first time because minimo was built from branches of both NSS and NSPR.
“leaks”
Over the last week and half there have been several blog posts and “news” articles floating around the internet about leaked Windows Mobile Fennec builds. This has been fairly entertaining to those of us working on the project for a couple reasons. First, the builds that these posts have pointed to are the builds that I pointed to on twitter. They were intended to be used by the developers working on the project (or anyone else willing to deal with really buggy software) to find bugs before we pushed anything out to the general public.
Also, the concept of secret, leaked builds flies in the face of how Mozilla operates. Our source code is out there for everyone to see. We have a bug reporting system that anyone can (and is encouraged to) access to file new bugs or track the progress of existing bugs. The majority of our discussion around the project is entirely public on irc, our wiki or our meetings and conference calls.
I have been working for Mozilla for 16 months now. At first its a bit of an adjustment to having everything you do or say out there in the public. But after overcoming that initial shock, its a point of pride. This project goes to extraordinary lengths to be open and transparent. If you are going to write about Mozilla, take advantage of that. Read our meeting minutes, hop on irc to ask a question or even dial into the weekly status meeting. Its all out there, just look.

Are you really sure about that ?
because there are no news on the mozilla's website ????
hm. after a very slow loading I see the adressbar, but cannot open the keyboard
to enter any address...
this thing is sad!
This can’t be an official release! I really don’t believe they would release this garbage.
I installed on the Touch HD and the Touch Pro and nether works.
Don’t waste your time!!!!!
OK OK please use the search function before posting !!!
This is not the official release it is the beta version and has already been posted !!

This shouldn't even work anyway because it seems designed to be for vga like touch pro.
If you want you can get the windows version HERE just to see what it's like...
Looks pretty interesting and it's apparently amazingly fast on the N810.
it's beta, so no need to complain about
But, I'm looking forward to the first running version
I can also confirm it doesn't work but it does look promising, it is very jerky on the touch hd and takes forever to load and i had to use a bluetooth keyboard to input text and pages dont load but apart from that I'm still very much looking forward to seeing this completed.
First I would like to thank the whole forum (with few exceptions that I'd like to not mention here) for the past 2,5 years, which have been very educating for me regarding Windows Mobile as a system. During that whole time I have searched for the perfect simple-to-use, lightweight app for storing and retrieving a grocery list, yet unfortunately I have had to come to the conclusion that it does not exist to this date. There are some existing apps but these are either not simple to use or do not accomplish the simple task at all, or they are too heavy (requiring additionally the .NET framework to be installed for example, etc.).
The idea for the simple software is that one has a changeable groups and items of groceries, from which they can select the already saved ones needed at that shopping day (e.g. during a discussion with girlfriend), and later when in shop they can just check the ones they have already put into basket. I would like to see the person who will argue that it does not easily beat archaic mode of storing information, a.k.a. paper and pen.
I have found an app which, with some relatively small amount of effort can be rewritten to accomplish that task, this software is iContact AE. As far as I understand, there is judicially no problem using the source code from iContact AE as long as following the license restrictions (correct me please if I am wrong). Why AE? Just a selection based on the fact that AE has the most appealing interface and most settings. Of course, this could be a point of discussion, but so far it seems like the best choice.
CAB - http://icontactae.codeplex.com/releases/view/28951
Source - http://icontactae.codeplex.com/SourceControl/list/changesets
I created a possible, chronological tasklist in order to get from iContact AE to the shopping app, whatever it will be called (name suggestions also welcome in due time). Also, I already have a pretty clear vision about
Discuss the usability and feasibility of the selected software / it's source code and it's alternatives (as far as I remember there was the original iContact and some other derivate version).
[*]Create, discuss and review static prototypes of the interface (basically screenshots of each view).
[*]List the requirements to be implemented (or removed).
[*]Code in / remove code according the list from previous task.
[*]Create skin and graphics.
[*]Clean up rest of code, remove unnecessary parts of it (to make it more light).
[*]Test and review changes.
I can either take lead, perform or participate actively in the tasks that are listed green. I only need a competent C++ coder who can help and thinks this is a great idea.
The changes needed to the existing source code do not seem to be much at first glance, but of course as I cannot code in C++, I could be wrong. I just looked at the parts of code where to change the tabs and queries to storage files.
So there, got it off my chest. Any C++ gurus missing a simple, convenient grocery app?
OK, I will put this in another way. I will personally contribute $50 (via PayPal or if EU country, via transfer) to the coder - provided that the end result is according to the requirements, which we will agree forehand. If anyone wants to join in with contribution, You are more than welcome.

If I had money I to would offer some.
It's no wunder WinMo is falling behind no one wants to create apps even when offered a straight cash deal.
Amen to that. I was actually reading this and took a good hour of researching to see just how hard it might be and how time-consuming it might be. I would have loved to take this on...but alas, It would split me way too much. I am already working on my FFP_LS Pro 2.5 Improvements (Major Major improvements...I am practically re-writing the app), I am starting work on a game I plan to release (Its a rather popular game I have yet to find for WIndows Mobile), and I already volunteered to work on the Boggle Clone for WinMo ... so I am already pretty split as it is. heh...if I find free time, and nobody has taken this on, I will probably come back and make this my next project
Sorry though...I do hope some developer comes around to assist!
Thanks for Your support. I thought that I don't need to subscribe to my own threads in order to get a notification if a new post is made, but I was wrong. I certainly didn't get one for Your post. So, sorry for the late reply. I will subscribe to my own thread now
Let me introduce a brand new psychology (and may be not only) testing system application for windows phone.
Current release is beta and contains two tests.
The first one is from just for fun series and shows the possibilities of testing engine.
The second one is based on scientific research of the world-famous Ukrainian scientist Tsukanov.
Let me briefly describe what this test is about.
You know that a microprocessor has it own tact-frequency. So the main idea is that every human-being also has such frequency. The test allows to count this frequency and shows some interesting information based on this number.
In future there will be much more information and data available as the results of this test.
Here are the future plans:
1) Stabilize the application, fix bugs.
2) Add more tests.
3) Go to marketplace.
4) Update = new tests. (Any suggestions are appreciated)
5) May be to add the ability to add user-made tests. Engine is ready but there's still no editor for it.
6) ...
7) Profit!
For now everybody who thinks this is interesting - please test it and test yourself and say what you think!
Thanks!
P.S.
You can tweet your results from the second test.
P.P.S. Do you like pressing the girl's eyes at the first screen?
[CHANGELOG]
11/7/2011 v0.1:
Initial release with two tests available.
I am going to try this, sounds fun
Sent from my Spark using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
tested it but what the heck is it? the second test it gave me a number and a word with no explanation of anything. and this 'famous' tsukanov i tried searching to find the meaning of my results but nothing comes up for tsukanov test
This number is your personal unit of time. A lot of things depends on it. As for now it only shows you temperament type I'll add a lot of other interesting explanations in near future. Don't forget it's only beta and the first release. Lot's of things will change before release I hope.
The name 'Tsukanov' is famous in the former USSR psychology school first of all, so if you'll try to search in Russian for 'Цуканов' you'll find more info.
definitely sounds interesting
Cool app
I like the app but it needs some more tests/some more explation. The number it gives you needs to be explained and what excatly that means. Also for the first test you should add some more explaination to what the type of food means
I am working on a web service and thought it might be of interest to Windows 8 app developers out there, who might find the service useful and could even help testing it and offer advice on how to improve.
The product (codename Myelin, currently in alpha) brings powerful user feedback tools directly into your mobile apps. With just a couple of lines of code, you can integrate functionality that not only allows users to send comments directly to the dev, but also to track any replies and provide additional follow-up after the first submission. No private information (such as email address or account name) is ever shared, and no registration is required. It just works directly from the app.
Coming in the future are even more exciting features that make meaningful communication between the dev and the end user simpler and faster.
On the backend we have a feedback management portal that allows to monitor incoming feedback efficiently and manage any required follow-up in a bugtracking-like approach (think support tickets).
We have recently rolled out a client (== app plugin) for Windows 8 HTML apps, and would welcome devs willing to take it for a spin and give us feedback. BTW, XAML support is coming in the future; if you'd be interested, let me know and this work may move further up the priority list. XAML version for C#\VB Win8 apps is also available.
The service is currently free while it's in active development. While there are plans to eventually take it commercial, we will in any event be very accomodating to our early adopters.
You can read more at https://www.tfp0.com/s/windows8. If you're interested in learning more, reply here, PM, or just go ahead and sign up over at the website (we have plenty of spots available) to see what we have going there.
Below is a collage of various screens that the plugin introduces in the form of settings flyouts.

Since I've seen some offline interest in a XAML-based version, I wanted to note here that we did in fact roll out a version of the plugin for XAML.
In addition, both versions (HTML and XAML) are now available through NuGet as Timefork.DyneinXaml and Timefork.DyneinHtml .
Hi guys,
probably it's not a proper forum, and my post is offtopic, but it's a most reliable forum on xda-dev for this post, other forums are simple dead
For the "rara avis", developers who still do something on Win10 platform, I'd like to share my personal experience to publish an app with restricted capabilities (desktop bridge) on Microsoft store. Might be, someone will find this useful (I hope so!).
So:
- on March, 29 I created a "desktop bridge" app from already existing app and started submission. Of course, package submission failed, and I issued a "desktop bridge permission request".
- next day, March 30, I received automated confirmation.
- on April, 10, I've got mail from Windows App Consult with request to fill some form(s) in Word document format, zip it with my app (.appx or .appxbundle) and share with Microsoft team.
- two weeks later, on April, 24, I've got another mail (quoting):
Hello, we have completed the testing of your desktop application. Congratulations, your application is compliant and, as such, your developer account has now been unlocked! Please allow 24-48 business hours for the permissions to propagate, then you’ll be able to start the submission process on the Dev Center’s website.

- and, after two days (48 hours, not an hour or minute sooner ), my app was published and become available on the next day(s) or so
Here we go: the very first console app published in the Microsoft Store (if it's not please let me know). App is completely free and open source; I set $0.99 price just in case if someone wanna donate a bottle of good beer to me ($1 isn't enough of course but it's OK). App "trial" isn't different from paid; and of course you can download it directly from the github, or build by yourself.
The main purpose of this experiment was to check an ability to the regular, third party developer, to publish an app with restricted access via MS store, and, I can say, it works as promised...
P.S. Oh, I forgot to say: please download the app, use it (if you really need it) and rate up to five stars, please!
