Android Open Source Project for Nokia 6.1 Plus
About AOSP
Android is an open source operating system for mobile devices and a corresponding open source project led by Google. This site and the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) repository offer the information and source code needed to create custom variants of the Android OS, port devices and accessories to the Android platform, and ensure devices meet the compatibility requirements that keep the Android ecosystem a healthy and stable environment for millions of users.
As an open source project, Android's goal is to avoid any central point of failure in which one industry player can restrict or control the innovations of any other player. To that end, Android is a full, production-quality operating system for consumer products, complete with customizable source code that can be ported to nearly any device and public documentation that is available to everyone.
Just as you can contribute code to AOSP, you can also contribute to AOSP documentation—and we want your input! Android's flexibility and ever-changing codebase means this site needs your feedback to keep content fresh, accurate, and relevant to Android implementors. We encourage you to check the changelog for details on recent AOSP updates and to report bugs or offer suggestions using the Site Feedback at the bottom of every page.

amazing, very fast

need flash gapps?

Wow, Thanks bro~~~Which gapps works perfectly?

Awesome! So quickly.
Did anyone tried the ROM yet?
-What about the loudness of system sounds and their quality? Are they equal to the stock from 9/10 android?
-What about auto brightness and its training process? Does it work properly? I have some problems in custom ROMs on android 12 with that, especially in the evening.
-What about the camera app? Does the flashlight work properly in it?

- R
- Root : work
- NikGApps : work
Nice

Mostly usable as daily driver. Congrats on bringing us Tiramisu so quickly!
-Use Nikgapps 12.1
(Don't flash Pixel Launcher. For me it just wrecked the built-in launcher and didn't add Pixel Launcher.)
-Bluetooth audio not working for me. Can pair device but not connect.
-Screen casting not working (of course)
-Gcam works most of the time, but sometimes viewfinder becomes bumpy and unusable
(maybe just due to the particular gcam I'm using though)
Overall, a very good initial Android 13 build!

The ROM is stated as an AOSP based ROM, so it should already include pre-installed google services and apps(I think so... ). So, what do you mean "Use Nikgaaps 12.1"?

AOSP-based does not mean google services included. I think you are confused.
Like the other user hetboy mentioned, you need to flash gapps if you want google services.
Go ahead and try it for yourself without flashing gapps.
Most gapps check the Android version and will not allow you to install Android 12.1 apps on Android 13, but Nikgapps does not. So it works.

I'm confused because it isn't noticed in the ROM description, if gapps are needed or not...

TWRP gives the message:
Error appalying update: 28 (ErrooCode::kDownLoadOperationError)

I keep getting this error while trying to flash this rom every time

Welcome tio the team ))
I'm puzzled how the guys above flashed the ROM...

After a week of use, I have to say this rom is really not usable as a daily driver yet. (Though I am still trying to power through.)
In addition to the other issues I listed earlier:
-viewfinder is often shaky and won't allow you to take a photo - even on the stock camera that comes with the rom. Need to restart the camera app several times until it finally works.
-apps often force close immediately after launch, or suddenly during use (I've tried clearing the app's cache, reinstalling apps, restarting the phone, clearing dalvik/ART cache but the issue persists.)
-one of my instant messaging apps (Naver LINE) only gives notifications when the app is in the foreground (Turned off all battery optimizations, and made sure the app has the necessary permissions.)
I wouldn't recommend flashing this ROM unless you're just curious and want to try it out. I'm probably going to go back to Android 12 once I've decided I've had enough punishment and want to have a usable phone again.

Have you used Raghu Verma partition tool for Nokia 6.1 plus use it then try again.
I was getting the same error everytime with almost all Raghu Verma Roms for Nokia 6.1 Plus nothing mattered whatever i did.
So finally iI tried Awaken OS based on Android 12 and it worked perfectly.
I am pretty happy with it.
But if you need Android 13 nothing else go try partition tool

Hey before flashing this Rom or any time earlier have you used Raghu Verma's partition tool ?
Because I tried this Rom and Raghu Verma other ROMs everyone of them gave me error.
So to flash this i must use Raghu Verma partition tool right?

Changelogs
As we're getting back into the thread game, keeping up with threads and updating them as per changelogs can be too hectic given our schedule. However, very detailed changelogs always go up on our Google+ page, follow us for constant updates!
Instructions & requirements
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano and Banks GAPPS work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_bacon_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the GAPPS package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, do not do anything else.
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM & GAPPS. Meaning, do not flash anything like a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.

Welcome back guys,
I do have a question, is there any chance you guys have also given some magic to the camera? Because I thought you guys are affiliated with oneplus, maybe having access to the good stuff ^.^?
Don't currently have the time to reinstall my phone, so can't test it myself.
Kind regards,
domistroy
6.0.1 is a great update to 6.0, lots of issues ironed out that were plaguing the initial release, congrats and thank you!
I just think that the in-call volume could get a bit more love, I remember it being far louder on the previous ROM I used daily, Sultan's CM13. It is still too low and some static noise can be heard in the background while talking to someone.

I don't use themes to be honest, always tend to run Android the way Google meant for it to look and feel.
Maybe you should try reinstalling the theme itself and try again how it goes.

In that case I don't know really, mine is working just fine, no force closes even when I open the Themes app. The only difference from my setup and yours is that I'm always using OpenGapps, but yet again, don't know how would that impact the theme engine...
You probably have something else installed that might be causing it.
What camera blobs that this rom using??
Hopefully otg usb will work soon!
Thanks for the awesome rom!
Awesome you guys are back i haved always loved to switch roms from PA to CM back and forth because both roms are amazing and now i get to have pa mm on my opo The new boot animation is killer too
For those FCs with Themes and Themes Provider, please clear the apps data and reboot. It's in the G+ pages but probably needs a FAQ here too.
FWIW not all themes work, even with CMTE. I'm guessing some work is needed either in the TE side or by the theme's Developer

Hard to say for certain. The updater-script requires /system to be EXT4 though.

We recommend you to take the advice above regardless.
halogenOS Checklist
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another rom:
Please take a full nandroid backup!
Please copy your back up to an external device.
Backing up your Internal Storage is also recommended.
When completed, please clean flash the build!
Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM has the same Android version, it is not guaranteed. In case of serious
crashes please do a clean flash.
If you get app crashes after dirty flashing over XOS 6 or another ROM, please just
clear the app data of those apps, and it should work fine then.
XOS is a new generation cutting-edge OS for Android based on Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from CodeAuroraForums (CAF),
featuring only extremely minor set of components from CyanogenMod (CM) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the CodeAuroraForums (CAF), the CyanogenMod
organization and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,

Do not wipe anything
Flash the ROM

Nice to see more devices having this ROM, but I would like to point out that halogenOS is based on AOSP + CAF and not on AOSP-CAF. There is a difference between those two, so please update the title soon

Thanks for the amazing work with the ROM!
After one day, I can say this ROM is amazing! very fast and battery friendly! Thank you
smooth rom
I'm usually pretty skeptical of all the ROMs that get peddled around here, but wow. Silky smooth and very impressive boot time (after first boot). Very minimal selection of apps included by default, unlike all the junk that comes with LineageOS et al. The cherry on top is microG support Very nice, I'm keeping my eye on this one. Thanks!
Okay Okay for me
Though the ROM looked good ... it didn't feel like having all the require features.
Also, it didn't detected SIM card .. :silly:
Making U turn to previous version of another ROM :crying:
Reinstalled the ROM and everything was fine ... still i didn't found the volume rocker... volume tile.. this is so far gooooooddd...

Common Ques:
Q: Is there any common Pie discussion thread available?
A: Sure here it is! https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/discussion-pie-rom-discussion-thread-t3834902
Q: Are you going to update it daily?
A: Only when I get time, since its official now, it will get every security patch
Q: How much fluid is it?
A: Use it and decide then
Q: Is this ROM smoother than XYZ ROM? ?
A: Do compare yourself
Q: Can you make overclock kernel for this rom?
A: Nope (If I do, that would be a separate project)
Q: Suitable for Daily driver?
A: Depends on your usage
Q: Are you going to fix bleh?
A: Whenever I will feel to fix, whenever it will be possible
Q: Facelock stops working after reboot, did you notice?
A: Okay, I noticed that happening, what is workaround, is to go to smart lock, select improve face matching, then save face data, then in battery optimizations (Apps>Trusted Face>Battery), Select Dont optimize, then your facelock will start working again, even after rebooting
Q: Screenshots?
A: Check #2
Q: When will you release the next build?
A: Asking for ETA is a sin
Q: Want to report bugs! Device is dancing like a maniac
A: There is an old meme I like bout this
Q: I want to donate LineageOS developers, and whoever maintaining ROMs, they worked so hard for titan
A: Here you can do that

Can you tell us about the lag and fluidness of the rom? I didnt like the Pie and Oreo I've tried and returned to 7.1.2 but never the less I really appreciate devs making efforts to make our old moto g to be updated.
Thanks for your work and for giving us a new rom.
Does app drawer scrolling is smoth or not????

Finally Pixel Experience android 9 for my great friend g 2014, thank you all the members of the rom I love all of you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you do not give up on this rom for this device.
Just how??
I've been wondering for ages if Pixel Experience Pie would be a real thing or not as it was discontinued in the official site. Today I found out this post and got to flash it...
What an amazing job for the developer!! This ROM is even more fluid than LineageOS 16 in my Moto G2 of 8GB. Not 60FPS by far, but completely usable as second device for music, social media or really low games (#Drive, Smash Bandits...)
Im gonna keep using this device for a week and I will update its evolution.
REALLY IMPRESSED <3
A facial lock option is not working.
Update(21/04/2019)
Some FC fixed (Google Text To Speech and many)
SELinux fixes
Enabled Google Assistant (OK Google)
Few optimizations
Attention:
1. To make Google Assistant work, you might need to select Google as Assistant Default, to do so, go to Settings>Apps & Notifications>Default Apps> Assist and Voice input, select Google as default. Then reboot.
2. It might cause lag while using assistant, not because of pie rom, but your device has 1GB ram and new Google app needs new hardware things, make sure you dont complain about that, recent Google Apps are pretty heavy for legacy devices
3. You can always update google apps, but new software might cause lag...If you want to stop auto updating google apps, you can turn if off on playstore
4. Those who are facing facelock crashes, flash this right after flashing the rom (Before opening Smart Lock)

Consider I flashed the update without wiping the previous ROM, just as an update
First of all, everything seemed to work fine, but after couple of minuts later, Pixel Launcher restarted itself non-stop. The fix was just deleting the app's data.
Assistant works perfectly fine, I think is the first ROM I've tried that runs it. (I tried Pixel Experience Android 8.1 and LineageOS 16 Unofficial)
Also performance upgrades seem to be present, but slightly, which is completely undertandable

First of all, thanks for bringing this one to us. You rock man.
I've been using latest build since release, not a single bug so far. It feels just as smooth as LOS 16, though it has a little stuttering while scrolling on drawer (with every launcher I tried), and this is the only lag I see. Great, nice improvement from previous build.
However I noticed three **REALLY SMALL** issues that somehow bothers me and I'll try to describe them at my best considering my poor english. Please note that I dont care if you ever gonna fix those, I'm sticking to this a little longer as I love PE.
1- Icons on default launcher looks cropped as if they are bigger than they should so they get somehow 'squared'.
2- Offline charging shows no percentage.
3- (oh boy, this is gonna be hard to describe) Buttons on navbar gets buggy sometimes. Remember that bug on google photos, which made pics look as if they were 'scratched' or with 'missing pixels'? This is it. Everytime I scroll to google feed or open and close drawer (everytime an image or screen goes behind navbar, for that matter) buttons get buggy. Clicking the weird button fixes it, however.
Well, this is it. Great job @thedeadfish59. Thank you very much for everything you've done so far. Peace

Thank you very much, I have a lot to thank you for striving to develop such a wonderful rom for my faithful friend, Moto-G2, I hope that in the official version she is one of the best roms.
I wish all the success in the world for you, and once again thank you very much for being interested in this simple device but that there are still many people who use it.

Hi there, first of all thanks for providing us stock android custom rom.
Yesterday I flashed pixel experience 12.1 to my Nokia 8 following installation guide, it's pretty good but Note that camera audio not recording properly neither built-in voice recorder is recording sounds.
Kindly guide me what to do?
Hi, I get an error when my nokia-8 (TA-1052) starts up. How can I fix it?

Hi, I've been a happy user of PixelExperience 11 for several month (first attempt of a non standard Android build for a daily use) and now trying to update to 12.
Can someone confirm that the T-virus 2.0 upgrade is necessary to install this build ? I can't find the answer here or on the intall guide on the PixelExperience website.

I have the same message on 11 so its not related to this version. It has never been an issue once the startup is completed for me, since last october. I discarded that as an tiny annoyance for having the guts to unlock the bootloader.

Since a recovery was always included with the rom I formerly flashed on my devices, I just flashed this one from TWRP 3.5.2 and it worked (also wiped internal, data and cache from TWRP to be sure).

No sound problem with the camera audio for me,. Regarding the built-in voice recorder, I had to select manually the correct device to use in the app parameter to make it work.
I have two complains about the camera app though. It is a bit slow and contrary to the one included on PE 11, I cannot select the storage, and thus my SD card, on this one. Except this, it seems to work pretty well.
I'll test the GPS and other stuff tomorrow and keep you updated.
Thanks for the great work on this rom @emufan4568
Edit 27/06/2022 :
Tested GPS, mobile data and calls today. General performance and battery drain were on par with PE11, very good.
Mobile data was stuck on HSDPA so I went to mobile data parameters to set it to "Global" instead of "GSM/WCDMA" to unlock LTE-A.

Right now, all NB1 ROMs are experiencing this issue unfortunately. But PE (I think) is the most stable one.
As a temporary solution, you can take pictures using Adobe Lightroom (works for me on CrDroid).
Ok, hopefully this will be fixed asap.
I'm using the camera app built-in the rom. I guess it's GCam.
With 3 more weeks of daily use I can complete my previous statement. The lag is not the main problem on my device as it only happens after a reboot. It's that the device stops saving pictures while displaying the shutter effect and all. If you don't shutdown your phone at night, you'll have to reboot it before you can take a picture. If you have to take several pictures, you'll have to reboot each 3 to 4 shots.
I'm installing Adobe Lightroom right now
I hope this will be fixed soon because this rom looks promising.
Last custom rom was on my Moto X 2nd gen but there was always something wrong.
Waiting for this lag to be fixed.
I forgot to ask but does Netflix and Google Pay work?

Google Pay I can confirm works just fine, I use it for transactions. Netflix I think does too, but has limited quality due to lack of widevine l1 (it gets lost when unlocking the bootloader on 90% of devices).

Thank you for answering. Nice that Gpay works. About Netflix, what does this mean, i don't need 4K quality but 720p streams would be nice.

Android Open Source Project for Moto G60 & G40

Just because you we able to enjoy Android 12 and now Android 13 you are great sir thank you very muxh
This is absolutely bananas!
And you sir, are a wizard.
Many thanks for this!
By the way, from the description, it looks very similar to the PixelExperience ROM. Is there any difference?
Also, I see VoLTE mentioned as working (as with all your other projects). Is VoWIFI (WiFi Calling) working, too? Cause that would be amazing!

Yes works perfectly!
Thank you for confirming! How about twrp? Which version should we use? Can we use Android 12/12L version?
Which recovery I have to use 11_or12/12L b'coz I m on stock11
Google removed the ability to use custom fonts in Android 12? Looks like Motorola decided to keep this feature (and I'm glad they did). But now I'm wondering, is there any way to bring that back with custom ROMs? Or any alternative methods to achieve the same effect (without rooting the device)?

You can use the 12/12L TWRP recovery to install this ROM. Tested, working fine.
Potential bug: when trying to restore the backup from Google, it gets stuck in the "Just a few moments" screen.
Screenshot below.
Update:
If anyone else encounters this issue, it looks like the problem is...permissions.
If you get the Google Play services error, you need to change settings according.
Basically this is what needs to be changed.
Alternatively, you can simply go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Permissions, and allow permissions for Contacts, Phone and SMS.
After that, you can go back one step in the restore flow (in case it's stuck in loading) and try to restore again. This time, it should go through.

Ok, one thing that doesn't work so far: Google Pay (Wallet). Can't add new cards to it.

Yes, you only need to flash the ROM. No need for Gapps.
Something else I've noticed.
The camera app seems to be the default AOSP one (of course). Would be nice if it could be built with maybe Google Camera or Moto Camera... Just an idea.
I tried to install Google Camera from the Play Store, and it does install...but it keeps crashing.
I managed to install GCam from here though.

Haven't tried LineageOS on this phone. But....so far so good. I mean, battery life depends on a lot of factors. Screen brightness, games you play, apps you use, network signal...etc etc etc. So...it might be great for me and awful for you. Also, I haven't used the ROM long enough to get an accurate idea for the battery life.
I'm posting here as I'm discovering new things that either don't work, could be improved on, or just my thoughts using the ROM. Everything I found is already posted here. But battery...that might take a bit longer to determine. And as I said, it depends.
