Question Alternative to Google dialer and message - OnePlus 9 Pro

I tried to get used to Google dialer and message apps since the oos12 update but I really can't, is there any way to get the color os or oxygen is dialer and message app to work? Or a decent alternative to gapps?
Thank you

I use ColorOS global. I have all that stupid google removed from Oxygen OS.
Or on OnePlus forum/community you can find Oneplus dialer/message/phone app. I guess that works on A12.

I'm very interested in doing this. How did you strip out Google apps etc?

I mean that all beautifull gestures/apps that are missing from OxygenOS (removed/replaced by BS google) are in colorOS.

You should try True Phone. Definitely perfect dialer app with lots of customization capabilities.

(Q) Google dialer and contacts app for lollipop?

I'm looking for a way to replace my stock dialer on 13b with Google own dialer and contacts app I've tried apkmirror for downloading them but they fail to install yes I made sure to try the one specifically for lollipop is their any way to do this?
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
Obviously not what you want - I'm honestly not sure how to get those working right now -
but you could use KK Dialer and KK Contacts from GPlay, then if you really wanted you could modify the icons to make them look like Google Dialer and Contacts,
their UI's are very very similar to Google's Stock. These are my replacements ATM.
Hopefully we get support for these two soon though! I wish to see it that Google keeps building their apps to support more and more devices.
I got Google dialer 2.05.07 RC4 working on my H811 device.

Thank you for the confirmation, we're looking for a minimum of 5.0 or 5.1.
2.0.5.07 RC4 is minimum 6.0. But that is good to know for M users!

Most recent Google Dialer to work on Honor 7x?

Does anyone know the latest Google dialer to work on the honor 7x? I am using version 15.x. I need to use it for Android Auto reasons.

Did you need to add Google framework to get dialer to work?
I have a mod that I use on my phone from "Blu" that adds Google dialer, and it gets playstore updates. I did not try it on this phone yet. But I do miss the spam call block from it, maybe I will try it now.

Awesome. Thanks!
Be Aware that this is a Chinese beta rom. Unless you are familiar with westernizing Chinese Roms, you may want to wait for the Xiaomi.EU version that should come out ASAP.
If you install this, install Google chrome, and Google search through the Xiaomi store, then you can install Play Store and freeze all unwanted apps. If it's not in the store , it can be downloaded from any APK website.
Glad that Miui 11 is finally here bust isn't It annoying that Xiaomi makes most of us, the western world wait so long for the best features?
I have been using Xiaomi.EU for the past two months and it's been fantastic. Yesterday I installed the latest Global Stable 10.3.5 and it's like going back to March. It is missing A LOT! of stuff that the Chinese Beta Miui 10 per Xiaomi.EU has.
I would definitely wait for the release of Xiaomi.eu. It will be polished, without the bloatware and with the Play Store and Google Services already included. In three days, we should have a Update on the website.
I have tried Pixel Experience( Android 10 ) on the MI 8, and it's good, but it's far, very far from the functions that we have with our MIUI.

What functions for example? Miui is ugly af and I don't think there are actually many useful, not gimmicky, features that make it worth using Miui over other custom rom. Also from what I am seeing, Miui 11 is still based on Android 9.

First I like AOSP a lot , and noone is making you use Miui, so.......
a quick google search would have told you that Miui 11 for the Mi8 is based on Android Q edit : it pie for or now but will switch to Q
It's been well publicised that its totally redesigned and will have a look and feel closer to OneUI. Yes, devices older than 4 years will get Miui 11 on their existing SDK. The Mi8 will get Q
By the way, since you hate Miui so much why bother commenting?
It seems that your post serve's zero purpose and simply just clutter's up the thread. A lot of people feel the same way about AOSP, that it's boring and bland, so your point is what exactly ?
Also, so many people install AOSP, and then immediately start installing Xposed, Substratum, Custom lock screens, ultimately making it closer to what Miui is. At the end of the day, nothing is better than anything else.

Why so abrasive? I was making a genuine question. From all the videos I've seen, and the dipper group in Telegram, this version of MIUI 11 is based on Pie.
I do not use any kind of modifications other than custom roms, I don't even root anymore so for me all those functions you are claiming (which I was asking out of curiosity) seem completely unnecessary and gimmicky in my opinion.

It seems that I misunderstood your initial comment, which I took as being abrasive and if that wasn't your intent then I absolutely apologize.
Okay so I installed Miui 11 and its flat amazing, its hard to believe that this is the first beta! tremendously smooth. The animations and scaling down of Miui makes it seem almost like something else. I was very happy to see that all of my data was restored, and I was able to install Playstore and Play Services from the miui App Store.
Next yes its based on Android Q, ( My bad its Pie, but Q is coming) and so far I have no plans to use anything else. I like it, alot. If you plan to install. Be sure to turn off automatic updates, this way you can control when they get installed and there's is no surprises. I am using the latest official Twrp and the latest Magisk Canary, and I flashed DM verity and Magisk prior to booting. One last thing, I formatted user data, wiped and rebooted my phone prior to installing the rom within recovery.
Edit:
If you do not have an extensive mI cloud backup, install Gboard or your keyboard of choice as soon as you can. Otherwise you may get confused by the multi language keyboard.
For me it's no big deal because I have used Chinese roms many times in the past and speak basic chinese. However, it is possible to click a button and move the keyboard into chinese if this happens just click the chinese character on the bottom left to return to English. You will not run into these issues if using swiftkey or Gboard. Next, after you have signed in to Google and have verified your apps, you can use a different launcher if wanted and install app freeze to install any unwanted apps.
Be sure to attempt uninstalling unwanted apps before freezing them, some are easily uninstalled. Finally, I have not seem a single ad. Dark mode works extremely well and so does the themes store. Be sure to format to avoid issues. Make sure that you use root, this is a beat do not expect things like Google pay , or whatsapp to work, maybe they will work I don't know. My cellular service gets LTE, I can send and receive text, and I can use Hangouts.
Awesome job mate. That's really cool. The description you gave and the steps provided, helps a lot.
Yes, not all of us understand Chinese, so it will be difficult to read what they say , but still, I will wait for the launch on Xiaomi.eu, even though, I know that Root was already working on Android 10 since a few days ago.
What bugs have you encountered so far? You say that Mobile Data works, Calls and SMS. Dark Mode, and apparently everything.
What about the Camera? Are there any big differences?
Now, replying to @Kurz97 : Do you wanna know why I bought a phone with a MIUI interface? Because I like it. Don't get me wrong, I worked with AOSP a lot of time, and the beauty of Pure Android. Pay attention, Pure, means Pure, no mods, no changes in the UI, just plain simple. Only changes are Root, Adaway, and that's it.
Second, there are plenty of Rom's to choose from for MI 8, most of them, based on AOSP and the changes that the developers enable. I have tried as said before, Pixel Experience, and it's gorgeous. I really love the transition from the recent apps, and it's a very smooth Rom as well. But the fact that I can choose to have a MIUI based Rom or a AOSP it just makes it so much better.
In the past, I owned a Nexus 6p, and guess what? There was no MIUI for it. I was stuck with AOSP. So for me, the fact that I can choose from two distinguished interfaces, it's always better than being stuck to just one, isn't it? Have a good day

I came here to tell you know that it's Q. However, I was going to attach a screenshot and it is in 9 WTF. Okay, I just found out from the Mi Forum that this initial and maybe the next few releases are 9. However, Q is definitely coming once the wrinkles gets ironed out. Apparently there are a lot of problems Q right now.
@ eternitys : I was certain that I saw 10 under Android Version, I don't know how I messed that up. Q is coming and this build is still worth seeing. but it is a hassle to get working. However, it is working flawlessly with Google services once I froze the Xiaomi services. Maybe wait for Xiaomi.EU

Be sure to first uninstall chinese apps, then freeze some of the Xiaomi updater services.. This is done most easily with App Quarantine.
Next, download and install all google apps that you typical use and give them all permission and at least temporarily turn off battery manager. I did this and will supposedly get 12 hours SOT in regular mode.
For contact you need to ad your Google account, it's in settings.

New 7T owner, coming from Samsung, any tips?

I just ordered a OP 7T (T-Mobile version), and while I'm not new to OnePlus (my wife has a 6T), it's *my* first OP device. I come from using Samsung devices for a few years (S6 Plus, 7, now a 9). I've read much about the 7T, read and viewed many reviews, but I'd like to know what tips from daily users I should have in mind.
Thanks!
Welcome to the smoothness. Make sure you enable 90hz from settings as soon as you get the phone in hand if it's not turned on. It doesn't affect the battery that much. So no need to worry about that.
And if you are familiar with bootloader unlocking and rooting and wanna try that i should say wait for the TWRP recovery to come. Then this 7t section would be flooded with popular custom roms; hopefully.
Here are some more things you can experience and enjoy. Visit here,

I sure hope so. My wife's 6T has been a great phone so far, and I expect the 7T to serve well.
May I ask which issues did you encounter? And were you able to solve them?
I came from a Galaxy S9 to the 7t in November. I need dual SIM capability so I do not have to carry two devices. I use a TMO SIM and an AT&T SIM and need band 71 support. Generally, Android devices sold in the US do not support dual SIMs, and dual SIM devices which can be purchased internationally do not support many US bands.
The device was easy to set up, works very well, and I have not had any of the issues others have reported. VOLTE & Wi-Fi calling work well on TMO but not AT&T, but that's an AT&T issue and not the problem of One Plus. I currently run the Open Beta 2 build. I bought the North American version from One Plus directly which supports all current US TMO & ATT bands. Both providers work well in this phone and I am very happy with the device overall.
I wear a Galaxy watch, and integration works just as well as it did with my Galaxy phone.

Thanks for your feedback! I also found the 7T easy to set up, as I did with my wife's 6T. I manually configured Nova Launcher to avoid cross-brand backup/restore issues, and so far no issues there also. I did notice some widgets are no longer available, but I found alternatives. All apps are working as intended.
You mentioned you are running the Open Beta Build 2. Does OnePlus allow to easily fall back to the current release build if needed or wanted? I use the T-Mobile version of the 7T if it matters. Also, how is the Beta working? I have never used beta OS versions on my previous devices (never could register in a timely way with the S9), and am curious how OP hangles this.

The Open Beta 2 works well for me. I like it. Good thing, because if I were to go back to stable I would need to wipe my phone, which is not something that is very easy to do. The 7t is a good phone. I'm not sure what the one poster's issue is, but it's likely a one off or an operator's issue.
Open Beta 3 is more stable than Stable 10.0.9, based on my experience and usage.
I did a few things when I got my 7T:
1. Unlock Bootloader, install Magisk to get root.
2. Install Nacho Notch, which makes the status bar all black, all the time and it's really nice to see the icons up there but nothing else.
3. Install my 3rd party gesture app, Vivid N.G. This allows me to use bottom gestures with massive customization. And no stupid "swipe from side" back gesture. Who thought that would be a good idea?
4. Replace launcher with Nova.
5. Install Swift Backup and restore all my apps from old phone.
6. Install and configure AdAway to block ads on a system-level.
7. Install Substratum and theme Oxygen with Liv Dark theme.
8. Replace OnePlus dialer with Google dialer (using Magisk module).
9. Install GCam and Magisk module for enabling auxiliary cameras. This provides much better photos over the stock OnePlus camera app!
I'm planning to switch to OmniROM soon since I just can't stand OxygenOS. Not that it's a bad OS by any means, just that I prefer AOSP.

You just brought me back in time to when I had my Galaxy S4, that's when I heavily got into rooting, modding, tinkering with kernels, alternative OS builds, etc.
Of all your mods/steps, at least I installed Nova Launcher, been using it for many years now.

I gave not gotten this working on T-Mobile yet. With any dialer, including stock.
I'm not even sure if Visual Voicemail works with the T-Mobile variant either. I think they just want you to use their ****ty app for VVM.

Question Poco F3 Dialer/Messages App

Hi,
I have been using Poco F1 since 2018. Now i got my new Poco F3 but i really shocked when i didn't find the Original Poco's dialer/messages App, they're replaced by Google Apps
From my point of view Poco's dialer/messages so much better,
Is there any dialer/messages better than Google Apps?

Messages are definitely better by Google as when you click on "send a message" via the phone dialer, it takes you to messages and shows you previous messages while Mi messages app doesn't. Overall the messages app is better by google.
Phone app however is by far the best on miui. It's smooth, has auto call recording, smaller fonts, caller photo id, etc. Literally everything about the mi dialer is better.
If you want the mi dialer, I suggest you flash Indonesian rom or Xiaomi.eu rom.

Thanks for your detailed reply, I agree with you regarding Messages App, but for me "I don't trust Google".
