Im looking for TWRP for LG G8S but apparently there isnt a forum for this specific model.
Does anyone had lucky installing a custom recovery on those?

As of now a recovery exists only for LG G8, if you don't mind resetting your phone and losing your data then try it.

Hi all, first of all i am very sorry as not good in english. i am new to lg phone and i would like to get lg g3 but can't decide which model as many out there, currently lock down to d855(801 snapdragon) and korean f460(s/k...any different?) snapdragon805.
i would like to know can i root the phone and flashing custom rom? Is there any diffdrence between 801 & 805?
and lastly, if custom rom, is it those with state F400? Thanks

Hi all, I get my new G3 from China and now I m living in R.O.Korea.
So, I cannot use many GApps with my G3.
I found some last threads that changing G3 D857 to D858HK, however, it does not work cause my device is on LP.
Before I got this phone(D857), I used my G2 device(f320S) so it did not have any matter with downgrading, flashing new roms, or using flash tools.
But I am not familiar with managing D857 from China.
Are there any recent method (in LP condition) which make my device to D858HK version?
I m seriously looking forward your answers or tips Thx...

I'm new to the forum and wanted to ask around if anyone has had any luck in flashing the LG G8 ThinQ with either Plasma Mobile or with LineageOS. I'm looking into both and have only seen up to the LG G4 but am wanting to either help someone look more into it or venture into creating a custom ROM myself. Any help or direction is appreciated. Since the bootloader cannot be unlocked on the G8 that isn't possible at the moment.

It'll be possible at some point, but don't expect anything too soon.

The OEM is able to be unlocked on the Sprint g8 I have, but I am having trouble accessing the bootloader menu. Is that what you mean by it's not able to unlocked or is there a way to access the bootloader menu that I am missing?

That option doesn't mean bootloader unlock.
The boot loader for the G8 is able to be unlocked by using a G850 engineering abl_a.bin file . https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...nlock-and-magisk-root-using-firehose.4221793/
There is an LG G8s Lineage 18.1 rom but it does not work on the G8, I am looking at it and it gets system ui freezes, wifi doesn't turn on, and there is a sim pin unlock requirement, other than that other functions work on my G8: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-lineageos-18-1-for-lg-g8s-thinq-betalm-wip.4219111/

Recently got a LG G8 thinq at&t variant, we have the bootloader unlocked, but cant find any custom roms, and it seems at twrp doesn't support this model, so can't flash GAPPS, even if we did get a rom. Can anyone help? Thanks

There are no custom roms yet. Someone has to make one. I'd take a crack at it if I wasn't retarded when it came to programming. Every time someone tries to help me I screw it up.
