Seems like you got the partition tables messed up.
I'm no pro so I don't know what could be done.
Hey All, Thanks.
Fixed it some how.
First downloaded FOTA bricked. followed the steps.
Then tried to flash latest GB with his latest/old flash tool (linux). but that didn't work
tried older Flashtool windows Version 0.2.9.1 with firmware 4.0.A.2.368 (This was my rescue)
Finally phone booted

[Q] what for is /cache partition used for?

On my phone, /data is being used for cache, then what is /cache and what is it used for?
/data is the data partition storing app data and /cache for app cache. Only Dalvic cache is stored in the /data partition.

Hi
I think that "/cache for app cache" is not exact.
App caches, like thumbnails, browser cache and such, as I know are stored in /data/data subdirs or in sdcard.
/cache "should" be used by market for downloading apps before installing them into /data (I wrote "should" because my /cache is never used...), OTA updates and by recovery like CWM.

[QUESTION] Why do I have to continualy wipe the /data partition?

I finally properly rooted my A5 2017 (SW-A520W) and installed the TWRP recovery. But I can't do a full backup of the phone. It won't let me have access to /data. I know this is because the partition is encrypted. I also know I am to run no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0 zip after wiping the /data partition. But guess what?! Everytime I go back into recovery, /data is encrypted again.
Please Help.

P905 TWRP 3.2.2.0 can not mount dalvik cache anymore(?) after try to wipe. Has the Dalvik-cache an own partiton?

After flashing the original SW 5.02 ( without rezeize option) the /date partitontion was corrupt.
I have repair the partition and in the forst momentall things looks like ok.
If I want to wipe (Select Dalvik and cache) TWRP 3.2.2.0 show mie the erroe message, that TWRP can not mount the Dalvik partition.
In this moment there is only a direktory under /data/dalvik.cache.
The direktiory is not empty.
Is the Dalvik - cache an own partition?
How looks like the partition table on th eDevice P905?
Or is the error message normal ???
Thaks a lot for your help
For everyone who has the same issue:
Please ensure that /system is mounted in TWRP.
After mount the partition the wipe of the Dalvik/Art cache works without any errors

Wat does /preload partition contain?

I wiped the /preload partition in TWRP. What does the /preload partition contain?
